"You're leaving... this horse with me?" Violet eyes looked up at the stranger with deep confusion.
"Only for a short while. I'll be back in a few hours. Do this favor for a fellow Snowsong, will you?"
"I... I suppose. But... nevermind." She was too shy to deny the stranger's request as he turned and disappeared into the distance. She looked up at the horse with a smile. It was a pretty creature. She ran a hand down its nose with a smile.
"You and I will get along just fine, won't we, boy?" She said softly. The horse seemed to sense that she was safe, it nuzzled closer to her hand. Perhaps it was her soft and gentle demeanor. She looked around. "But what am I going to do in the meantime?"
The horse's nose nudged up against the glittering locket around her neck. "This?" A look of sadness was in her eyes. "It was my sister's."

In close vicinity, yet another Snowsong was nearby, idly strumming the strings of her well-crafted wooden lute. She had been stepping with a slow and heavy gait, focusing more on the music she brought than where she was going. The sound itself was nothing tremendous or awe-inspiring. Instead, it was quiet, the tune content with being merrily played in the background.

It was only by chance that Inessa overheard the conversation between two of her fellow holdmembers. As the stranger walked away, she strolled to Violet's side, though kept a respectable distance. With her vibrant blue eyes, she tried to make eye contact with the other woman. "Sort of odd for a man to just leave his horse like that. Any idea what the circumstance is?" Her head tilted to the side with her inquiry.

Even as she spoke, her fingers still played with the strings of her instrument. Occasionally she looked up to the sky, frowning at the storm coming overhead.

The locket slipped from between her fingertips as another voice reached her ears. It had surprised her, she thought she was on her own.
As the new stranger presented herself, Faelyn felt the color rise in her cheeks. The shy girl she was, she could also feel her heartbeat quicken, her blood pressure rising ever so slightly.
"Uh... n-no. I don't know. He just said to take care of it." She grasped the horse's reins and moved closer to the beast, seeming to trust animal kind a bit more than she trusted human kind. But the look in her eyes as she looked at the woman with blue eyes showed that she, although afraid, meant no rudeness, or no harm. It was a simple nervous tick, a simple result of a long and possibly tragic past.

Inessa frowned slightly as the other girl blushed. Her yellow eyes gained specs of blue and green as she gently held out a hand for the other woman, taking a few easy steps closer. As she tried to make eye contact with Faelyn, she would smile gently.

"I'm not out to harm you. Merely seeking to provide a bit of company for another on this day." Her head would tilt slightly to the side as she playfully winked. "Inessa Snowsong. Could I have your name?" Her tone matches her expression, cheerful and friendly.

The brief thought of using her magic to ease the girl crossed her, but she internally decided against it. That just wouldn't be proper and right.

Faelyn relaxed a little, and allowed a smile to grow on her face. She had to learn to be brave. "Faelyn Snowsong." Faelyn's name might ring a bell if Inessa was around her age of 17. Faelyn's mother, father, and twin sister had all been killed when she was very young. Allowed by her hold's kindness to stay, she had in many ways become a very kind young woman herself, judging by the way she had so gently been speaking to the horse; the only negative affect it had on her as a person was perhaps her near incurable shyness.

A step forward was taken, and the horse followed suit. She made eye contact, but her cheeks stayed flush. The smile that Faelyn returned showed that she was becoming more comfortable, not sensing any real danger. "It is good to meet you." She smiled softly.

Inessa couldn't help but giggle quietly at the other woman's blushing cheeks, smile and yellow eyes persisting. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Faelyn. I've heard of you but... ah. Well... let's not focus on that." The corners of her lips briefly tugged downward, though the smile returned quickly enough.

Nervously, she looked up at the coming storm. "Perhaps..." She winced slightly, looking to the other woman. Putting on her warm mittens, she held out a hand for the other girl. "Let's try and find some shelter for you and the horse before the storm actually gets here. It'll be nasty to be caught in the open once it hits."

Faelyn smiled, her eyes shining until she followed Inessa's to the sky. The storm did seem to still be brewing. It seemed like every time she braved a few steps out of the hold, she'd discover some sort of weather phenomenon that caused trouble. But chin held high, she made a soft cooing noise to the horse. "C'mon, let's go, big guy." She smiled brightly, and nodded back to Inessa once again.

"Where should we go?" It suddenly hit her that she had no idea where she should take a horse. She, even though she had learned to ride a horse in the past, didn't have a stable of her own. It was quite odd, and she wasn't sure how to deal with the beast. She couldn't rightly take it into the Arvinta. That would just be silly.

"I..." Inessa held up a finger, frowning. She paused. "... Have no idea whatsoever. ... Perhaps we could find aid at the dining hall?" The young bard came to the shy one's side, white cloak pulled tightly about her own body. "As great as it would be to wait here for hours while that man runs his errands, it's better to make sure his horse actually survives the storm."

Briefly, she eyed the other woman up and down, frowning as she took note of her outfit. As lovely as it looked, it didn't appear to give much warmth. "... I can share my cloak if the storm gets too bad before we get to shelter. Don't be afraid to ask. Best not to get sick."

"It's alright... I've gotten generally used to the cold. My secret is that the skirt is lined with fur." She knelt for a second, and let go of the reins. The horse seemed comfortable enough that it stayed where it was, no sign of getting ready to run. She lifted the bottom of her skirt to show the inside, where soft warm fur was. She looked up with a smile. "My sister showed me how to do it."

She stood up and grabbed the reins again, and started to walk in the direction of the dining hall. Hopefully Inessa was right, that they might find some help there. She didn't want to get things wrong, especially when it came to a stranger.

Inessa blinked her eyes in brief shock, before chuckling at the sight. "That's rather clever of her." She twirled slightly in her step, letting her long white cloak sway, a brief glimpse of the clothes she wore beneath being given. "My father's cloak just gives me all the warmth I need." After the motion she brought her mitten-covered hands to grip the insides of her cloak, snuggling with the warm white fur. "Made from a sabretooth, he says."
