Hey there, Mizaharians. New player checking in.
I've no strong attachments where names are concerned. Call me anything I will recognise and answer to. Shivera works well, for now.
Let's see. I've been roleplaying and writing for about a decade. I used to play wolves and a few other animals in the earliest of my teen years, being quite heavily influenced by nature documentaries and real life encounters with my favourite creatures. I moved on to Warcraft and various RPG settings, and now I just write for writing's sake. I also read quite a bit.
A couple of my friends recommended Mizahar to me, but I'm signing up anonymously. I like starting fresh. I don't know who they are either, so it's fair this way.
I enjoy writing out training, learning, and studying with others. I love for my characters to enjoy new experiences and develop skills. Mizahar is pretty exciting for me, as it puts a lot of focus on this aspect of roleplay.
Adventuring, exploring, and tentatively, romance are also all avenues I often walk. Call me the sentimental sort, but what's more endearing than writing about two hearts who grow close? Combat roleplay is another favourite. I've had some spectacular victories and defeats alike, and I feel there truly can be no greater thrill than pitting one's tactical mind against another's. All is fair in love and war, as they say. I like my characters to be tested, tried, and pushed to their limits, and for them to eventually rise above those challenges.
Largely, I'm unreserved in most aspects of roleplay. Know that I will express discomfort if it's ever felt.
The first and only grievance I have is with the Kelvic race. I have always adored the idea of shapeshifters, and they are often my go-to class when I enter a new setting. The story of how Kelvic came into being is wondrous and interesting, a true testament to the depths of insanity a magic-user can sink to.
However... it seems as though they were written to cater to slave roleplay, which I don't enjoy all that much. Servitude is a major part of their psychology, a part I fear would overshadow a character's individuality. Their very identities are threatened by the possibility of a particularly oppressive master, and their inability to shake their mindsets is a developmental cul de sac.
Although I enjoy master and servant roles, I find unquestioning obedience a tough concept to enjoy. Perhaps there's something I missed, though. If so, I shall enlighten myself.
Mainly, in Mizahar, I just want to find out how you kind folks roll. I haven't yet witnessed any behaviour that led me to believe this was anything other than a group of people dedicated to roleplaying.
I can't really say I would like to see anything expanded upon, particularly not as I am not yet done reading all of the lore.
Lastly... My eyes don't do so well with sharply-contrasting colours, such as white on black. I like the whole text frame thing Mizahar has going on, but when I make my own, I suspect the colours will be relatively muted. I apologise in advance if this post or any of my future posts are hard to read. If I thread with you and you're having difficulty seeing the text, drop me a PM and I will lighten it for you.
As for a final thought, I would dearly appreciate a PM, if anyone has the time to help me wrap my mind around certain aspects of Mizahar and figure out how to go about writing my character's sheet. Heck, several people might be useful! I don't bite at all, so feel free.
