A Day of Interesting Work (Open) (Valkalah Library)

[Dex]

Dex glanced around cautiously. He didn't see any of the library staff around. Licking the nice girls hand twice in good manners before he left, trying to promise to come back, he scrambled to the floor and out of sight. Well, he did take a piece of jerky on the way back. He was kinda hungry after his nap. The library staff had laid out a few things called "rules" for him. He suppose to come when they ringed a special bell for him. He wasn't suppose to interact extensively with the people inside the library. He wasn't suppose to scare anyone, or even be seen. And he was suppose to keep a spare change of clothes for if he needed to interact with anyone in human form for any issues. It was kept in a room in the back of the library, where he could get changed easily. This was the room he was crawling to. He carefully scouted out for the other staff, and sneaked across the floor under the door to enter behind the desk, and across the small walkway to the open room. Not seeing anyone, he turned around to get behind the door and pushed it shut slowly. With a quick flash of light, he stood up and stretched his back muscles, with a piece of jerky still in his mouth for him to slowly work his way through. He changed quickly into his clothes, simple blue shirt and pants to match the library staff uniform. Then he slowly opened the door, a small shaft of light marking across his face as he looked for the other staff. Thankfully they seemed to be interested in an old, and moldy smelling, book. This had happened before, but all he'd heard about was some book with information before the valtippian.... at least that's what he thought it was called. With quiet steps, he made his way to the table he'd been at with the interesting horned girl. "Hi there!"

Ilana frowned as the ferrets tail disappeared behind a bookcase. Sighing she dropped the last of the jerky into her pocket and gazed dejectedly down at her book. It seems all he was looking for was some food, and he left behind his rat as well! She huffed again and flipped a page as the near silent sound of someone approaching caught her attention. Looking up her eyes landed on a young man wearing a librarian’s uniform. "Oh, hello." She said in reply to his greeting. The man looked rather happy, excited even. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and looked around, wondering what he could want. "Would you like a seat?" She asked, closing her book.

Dex nodded and sat down quickly next to her. He saw the rat that he had left. “Oh! I’d better save that for later.” He said, quickly picking it up and putting it … hmm, where to put it, where to put it. He glanced around momentarily, spotting the bookcase. “There we go!” Dex said exuberantly, putting the rat on top of the bookcase where he had been napping earlier. “I’ve had a question for awhile … what was it… what was it … Oh right! Why do you sparkle and have horns?”

Ilana cringed as the man stood and hid the limp rat on top of the bookcase. The same bookcase, she realized, that the little ferret had hid on earlier. She subconsciously reached up to run her hand over the smooth surface of her horns at his next question. "I'm- I'm an Ethaefal. I was born like this... I'm sorry, but have we meet before?" He certainly acted like they had meet before, but Ilana had no recollection of encountering the man before her until now.

But I do have one suggestion for both of you. Your posts are so small! You need to flesh them out more, more details, more of what you character is thinking, more of whats going on around you, more description! So try and make your posts longer, but thats it. Otherwise, Dex, I love your ferretyness, and Ilana I liked how you RPed your confusion when Dex came back as a human and when you thought you were mad for talking to an animal.
