He is not filthy, but he is unkempt, taking little care of his appearance. Brown curly hair spills over his shoulders.He is slender, and a little short, but not un-muscled. His clothing is a haphazard mix of fur and cheap cloth, intended firstly for warmth, secondly for practicality. He keeps a bow strung on his back, and a hunting knife at his side. To any who look upon him he is clearly weary, either from difficult labor or hard travel. He has a fresh scar on his left cheek, any close visual examination will yield that it is not likely to be permanent. Personality Maringar is at the core a friendly individual, but his loss and weariness have left him paranoid and terse. It is still possible to make him forget his troubles and coax a smile or laugh out of him, as despite his hardship he is a joyful person by nature, and nature is something hard to deny. Character Concept Maringar is intended to be a young inexperienced man who is attempting to combat forces beyond his understanding or scope. Motivated by a feeling of vengeance against any who would descend upon the innocent. Character History Maringar originally lived in the city Nyka, born to a poor family that subsisted in large part through hunting and gathering in the wildlands, going on long trips to earn their keep. He was a middle child among five, with one older brother, two younger sisters and a younger brother. Maringar always maintained a strained relationship with his father, who seemed to treat him with disinterest despite his great love for all of Maringar's siblings; Maringar eventually found a father figure in a local mystic and healer, who began to teach Maringar the skills of his trade between hunts. Maringar's life was shattered one winter when his youngest sister was horrifically killed in the woods, by a creature who's tracks were inhuman. Maringar and his family tracked the creature best they could, but all physical trace of the creature's passing was wiped out by a snowstorm that made any continued search suicidal. Once the snowstorm passed, Maringar begged his teacher to help him track the creature using Auristics. The mystic reluctantly agreed, and they picked up the trail again. Maringar to this day does not know what creature they tracked, because his teacher disappeared during the search. Lost in the words or killed by the monster he can't be sure, but he found fresh passage of tracks that matched those of the creature nearby. He followed them for some time, but eventually lost the trail. He never returned home however. In fact he never turned around, he kept going, and hunts in the wilds to this day. Historical Notes: Maringar does not know this, but the reason his "father" treated him as coldly as he did was because he was not actually his father. She agreed to remain with him as long as he did not tell Maringar, no news on who his real father was. Ripper the Warhound Ripper is a seven year old scarred warhound who has probably seen more combat than his master. He's friendly to those he knows, but tense around strangers, ready to attack upon command.
