Timothy's Trinkets A strange traveling shop for Malediction (and other, dubiously acquired) merchandise, staffed by a single, equally strange man. NPC :
![]() Name: Timothy Wood Age: Appears 20 Race: Human An odd, tan skinned, cheerful young lad with green eyes, messy, dusty brown hair with a number of bones and feathers tied in, and a pair of bone bracelets. He travels in a rickety, eerie-looking carriage dragged by two aging donkeys. Both the carriage and the donkeys have been augmented with Malediction in the form of special spokes and horseshoes. Pushy, touchy-feely, boisterous, and exceedingly unnerving, Timothy certainly tends to leave a lasting impression wherever he goes. As one Sunberthan woman put it, “His mouth says ‘I want to meet you,’ but his eyes say 'I want to kill you.' Petching eerie.” Timothy is extremely friendly to anyone and everyone who approaches him (or he approaches) and will generally make a great show of how great his chosen customer’s life will be with any of his innumerable trinkets. What do they do? Heck, even he doesn’t know. But they’ll make the wielder rich! The inside of the carriage is absolutely plastered with merchandise. Maledicted femurs, bone necklaces, talismans, charms, and just about anything else under the sun. At the centerpiece is a revolving table, and two cushioned seats. It’s not uncommon for Timothy to physically push and pull a customer into said carriage. Some of these people don’t come back out. Children especially are terrified of Timothy, if only because his aggressive, sickly sweet demeanor tends to convince them they’re about to be kidnapped and turned into merchandise, or donkeys. Their parents have never helped Timothy’s case, instead employing him as a sort of horror story to keep their kids in line. “I’ll sell you to Timothy!” isn’t a particularly uncommon threat in Syliran households. The Maledictor will take anything and everything as payment, though he’s still partial to mizas. Haggling is practically mandatory, and a strong ability to negotiate is vital to getting a decent price from him. As far as services go, what Timothy offers is very straightforward. He sells Maledicted trinkets, and any items acquired when haggling. Everything is in the carriage, and everything except for the carriage itself and what’s attached is for sale. There are even rumors circulating of some poor, gullible souls signing themselves to eternal servitude to him in exchange for some miracle or other service. The truth to these rumors is unknown at the moment. Despite all the unsettling rumors, Timothy isn’t an evil man. He’s not out to take over the world, or murder virgins, or anything of the sort. He just wants to make money, and a decent living, nothing more, nothing less. That being said, his callous disregard for consumer safety still leaves him far from Samaritan territory.
