Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

17th of Fall, AV 512

Elem had been spending most of the week training physically, in one way or the other, short of the day prior spent in the lab. He was physically and mentally beat. The thought had occurred to him to just lie in bed all day, but his energy level had increased exponentially due to the activities and it would be fruitless, not to mention wasteful. So, he thought he might enjoy a walk through the Northern half of Riverfall, since most of his business had to do with its Southern half. The most striking feature was one Elem had actively avoided since he arrived and had heard of it.

Zulrav's Tower.

The God of Storms. While it was difficult to place blame on anyone or anything for the horrors of the Spring Storm, it was equally easy to wonder why the God of such a terrible thing would not have lessened its force and saved countless lives. Elem stood at the bottom of the spiral staircase, which was clearly open to the public, for some time. A few people even excused themselves as they moved past him, occasionally shooting glances at his demeanor. He must have been wearing a face of anger. Rational thoughts kept him from ascending the staircase, because he knew it would be quite possible for him to say things he didn't necessarily mean, due to the emotion the storm had brought. Best to move on. Maybe come back some other time.

Keeping his head down until he passed it, Elem tried to keep his mind distracted, to find anything to cool the anger inside. A large arch of color did the trick, for the most part. A sign by the arch listed it as Knirin Gardens, one of many beautiful and natural places that made Riverfall such a wonder to behold. The manner of which the plants were arranged immediately brought to mind what Serrif had mentioned when he and Gianne had helped Elem with the Sanctuary gardens. Exactly, in fact. Moving under the arch, he immediately moved to the latticework and examined it, trying to understand its construction. Another welcome distraction.

His fingers ran over the carefully laid framework as he examined the wisteria vine, so thick at the base that the foundation could no longer be seen. Crouching, Elem tried to move his fingers among that plant life and find how the arch was anchored. A breeze blew against his cheek and while he suspected it to be natural, it started to remind him of why he had come there in the first place. Maybe it would be better to push on and put distance between himself and the Tower.

Standing and turning to move on down the path, Elem found himself distracted once more, though this time all anger seemed to melt away. Other emotions, some as fiery, filled that void as he laid eyes on a most ravishing woman. He was clearly staring. Hopefully his mouth wasn't open. Maybe it was. He kept staring.

[Knirin Gardens] Hard to Miss (Fade)

Postby Fade on November 27th, 2012, 9:15 pm

Fade bent backwards her back arching like a cat until her hands were on the ground. The peace of the Knirin gardens invaded her heart. The lush vegetation beautiful just as she remembered. It was her perfect place, so tranquil that she could forget all hardships and focus on her contortion.
It was strange she mused how many people used the Knrin gardens for their training or meditating, it was the perfect place for all.
And she didn’t attract much attention , or at least non as usual for her gnosis gave her a unique allure but here she almost didn’t notice the occasional stare.

She shifted into a handstand wisps of white blonde hair falling in front of her eyes. She did a split her arms trembling and giving in she fell into a heap in the grass she laughed softly to herself. Too much time had passed since she had trained other then her daily warm us.
She got up slowly pleasantly amused of her little failure a smile playing on her lips as she got up her dress all a flutter in the brisk breeze.
She wore her costume under just in case her dress failed to conceal her decency during splits and handstands that usually made her dress simply slip off.

A man rounded the corner in that moment with a annoyed face though Fade paid little attention glancing at him a moment and then proceeding to bend backwards until her hands touched the grass against her back an almost impossible arch. She could actually see through her legs and it was with tranquil annoyance that she noticed that the man was staring his mouth quite open.

She unraveled herself from the unnatural position, a hand just under her collarbone as she always did out of apprehension. It was there were her gnosis lay, a red chain pulsing with a reddish hue.

It was Fades particular good mood that stopped her usual impulsive retorts, she would have walked away but she was at peace here.
“Careful, a poor fly might meet an untimely fate” She said smiling gesturing at his mouth glacier blue eyes twinkling with amusement.

The curve of her body was sublime, her hair a silky sheen. Elem could see the muscles of her body clearly as she bent herself backward in a most amazing fashion. Such control and grace, it was a wonder to behold. Her gentle way and elusive beauty were easy complements to her athletic skill. She then showed him how much more she was by pointing out his obscenity with such candor. He promptly closed his mouth with a light snap.

Approaching her slowly and cautiously, as one might a wandering deer, not wanting to send it bolting into the safety of the treeline, Elem smiled. He hoped to use his mouth in a more pleasant way this time. "I'm sorry, your control of your body is amazing. I have never seen such a display." He was being genuine. Sure, his heart raced as he approached, but it was in even time with his absolute wonder at her talents. "How long did it take for you to become so flexible? I am still a novice when it comes to the knowledge of my own body."

Stopping short, so as not to intrude any further than he may have already, Elem took a seat in the grass, hoping for more exhibitionism. "I'm Elem Bree of Zeltiva. I work outside of town at the Sanctuary. Do you live here in Riverfall? I'm certain I would have noticed you before." Although, with her talents and beauty, she was probably hidden behind a large group of panting Kalaks. Oh, well. None here now..

She stepped back slightly as he approached her face becoming tense for a moment her hand hovering over her gnosis. But then she relaxed as he stopped and sat down a smile returning to her pale face. He was genuinely curious it seemed and looked friendly enough.
"Not long if you are a child" she chuckled slightly "later on it's harder but I was born into a circus so I've been training for a long time" bending forwards gracefully she added "of course natural flexibility helps...alot".

She bent till her head rested on her knees her legs straight, not even slighlty bent. Then she bent backwards gripping her ankles forcing her spine till it seemed to snap but she kept on smiling and even talking even though her breath came short after a few words "And I'm a back bender " She let her ankles go her hands on the ground shifting into a handstand this time her arms didn't give in. She did a split slowly setting a foot on the ground then the other one getting up slowly from what was now a back bend again. She got up.

"Well met Elem, I'm Fade. I have returned to Riverfall to seek work at the Sanctuary "
She pondered a moment then giving into curiosity she asked "Isn't Zeltiva a city of scholars? How can you learn to know the world without knowing your own body? "

Elem listened while marvelling at the flexibility of her body. Surely there had to be some benefit to learning about how to stretch the body like that. "The circus? I've heard of the circus before, it sounds very fun. I've never seen one, however. You know, I never imagined that such pliability was possible for a human without magic. You are human, yes?" Then she began to bend, fold and turn. It reminded him of something, though he couldn't place it.

Still seated as she turned in the single spot, Elem gave a small clap, rising as she introduced herself. " A pleasure, Fade. I would be happy to take you back to the Sanctuary with me, if you like. Introduce you to Kavala and the others." What was it? Something green. Maybe a marshy reed, bending as ifg it might snap and then springing back to life. Yes. Her remark about Zeltiva brought a genuine chuckle to Elem's lips. "Scholars yes, but most of it is on intellectual topics. The only physical work I can think of is Shipwrighting. Of course, I was there to study medicine, so I am more accustomed to looking at other people's bodies." Hers would be an easy subject.

"However, in order to become a citizen of Riverfall, I took up boxing and body building. It's a solid tactic for defense, though with my being a Rak'kelian, I don't want to injure someone too much, as it is my duty to heal them." He stood where he was, his hands folded behind his back.

[Knirin Gardens] Hard to Miss (Fade)

Postby Fade on November 29th, 2012, 2:15 pm

Fade standing brought her left leg up into a vertical split with seemingly no effort her hand blocking her leg.
“Yes…the circus” She got lost in her own thought her eyes glazing over. Fun he really should have seen how much fun it had been for her, growing up a slave. Her lips tightened and whitened, she let her leg now her eyes ice cold.
But when he mentioned Kavala her face changed and her now tense frame relaxed visibly. “That would be, perfect thank you and yes…I am Human”

She lifted her right leg into a vertical split though some of the coldness in her eyes didn’t vanish. Letting go of her leg she took out of her bag her white ball , making it run over her moving body like water, never making it fall: a foot, finger or elbow always catching it and sending it on its way seamlessly without stopping what seemed its natural course. To achieve this trick Fade always thought she was handling a big and fragile egg. After some moments she stared to contort as well bending and flexing her body. She did this for a few minutes then she placed the ball in the small of her back and bent backwards so she was facing him upside down.

She bent until the ball was trapped between her lower back and her spine saying “I could help you , if you need any acrobatics…but first tell me about your god” She untwined pacing the ball in her bag , sitting down a few paces form him and letting lose her white blonde hair. She sat in such a way that she was near him but at the same time ready to spring away, her red gnosis a constant danger to her freedom.

Elem had apparently said something out of color, but wasn't quite sure what it was. He hated when that happened, offending with no clue as to why. Made the reparation so much more difficult. As Fade continued to twist and turn, he offered what he could. Maybe it had to do with the human question. "I'm sorry if I offended you. There are lots of Kelvic in the area and it was more to be wary of offending one by assuming that they were human. I certainly have no ill will." He smiled, hoping he could smooth it over.

Elem was completely transfixed by the travel of the white ball as it seemed to cling to Fade's body. He suspected it was extremely fine motor control, but it looked very much like some kind of strange magic. He suddenly felt like a child, but was okay with that. Soon she came to a rest on the grass, so Elem did the same, keeping the distance bewtween them. "Rak'keli, the Goddess of Healing. She and Her twin sister Avalis, Goddess of Seers and Divination, live on the island nation of Mura." He proudly showed his mark, its golden sheen apparent in the sun on the back of his right hand.

“Not offended” she smiled grimly twisting a blade of grass between her long pale fingers “The circus, well wasn’t very fun for me “
She tore the green stem into two strips “well it wasn’t quite me either…I was a slave” She tied a not with the two blades of grass.

She didn’t offer explanation of this cryptic remark until he showed her his gnosis mark.
She peered at his hand and asked “You can heal people?!” It was a childish remark but she was genuinely curious and as Rak’keli was the goddess of healing and health what else could his mark imply? She continued “You can heal people better?”

She nodded and tapped her mark just above her breast. It was dark red in form of an intertwined chain the details visible only from a close distance “Nikali, twin sister of the goddess Cheva” She smiled in a very alluring way, glancing sideways at him “Protector of slaves, goddess of pleasure” She exhaled slowly her clear blue eyes twinkling.

Her Ranuri was considered by many a curse but it was a blessing. It was an ability and a weakness but most of all it was an honor. Aside identifying and incredibly augmenting pleasure people trusted her more easily, talked to her more and were drawn by her unique allure. For Fade the scarlet mark just between her collarbone and breast had been a life saver.

She wondered how he would react her body poised and ready to bolt off, just in case.

The shadow of offense held a similar thin smile as Fade did when her origins at the circus were revealed. She had been a slave. Elem was well acquainted with the concept, as many who passed through Zeltiva's harbor had been, currently were or sought one. The concept did not sit well with him, though. There was no one who deserved such a life or treatment. There was equally no one who was somehow better than another to own them. It left distaste in his mouth, but he had never been one himself.
"Ah, I see. I think the entire idea of slavery is repulsive, but then again, I was born with the choice to feel that way. I'm sorry."

On to more pleasant topics, he smiled at her surprise. Perhaps living among so many other healers had made it seem commonplace to Elem. "Indeed, I can. It is what I do best." For now. he had a host of other skills that were burgeoning, but medicine and Divine healing remained superior to all others. Maybe going out on social appointments was a close second. The thought brought a slight grin to his face. The grim remained when she told him of her own mark.

"I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't interested in learning more about Ranuri. However, I admit, I have never heard of her or her twin sister. I respect that you have been touched by a Goddess, whoever She might be." He leaned back on his palms, as she seemed to be shifting in her own seat. " Slaves and pleasure. Any man would jump at the opportunity, I suppose. I guess sometimes my being a scholar shields me from that sort of thing. You are very alluring, however. Even if you couldn't turn your body in so many ways."

She laughed light heartedly “Don’t be sorry, you didn’t do anything!”
She smiled amused and then interested in his ability. Fade knew nothing about healing though she had always wanted to learn something about medicine. It was something handy to know she mused.

“My goddess, Nikali, is the sister of the goddess of love Cheva, we who are marked by our goddess are called ranuri”

She smiled pleased in what he said relaxing a bit. He didn’t seem at all a bad person even though she found it hard to come to terms with people who didn’t try to steal her away the moment they learned about her mark. Taking a deep breath she sang softly:

"See a woman as pale as snow
Silent come silent go
See a girl with gold white hair
Of her golden touch beware

I see your needs from deep within
Beneath your soul
Beneath your skin "

She paused and explained “One touch and I am compelled to satisfy your needs. Your desires, even the ones you don’t want to admit…and in the compulsion to fulfill that need I find happiness ” She continued playing with blades of grass “Ranuri also augment pleasure”

She uncrossed her legs keeping them straight on the ground she slowly effortlessly touched her head to her knees her hands on her ankles.
“How much can you turn your body in so many ways?” She said stretching out using his exact same words her words quite filled with mirth.
