Synthira
Appearance

Height: 5’7
Weight: about 115 lbs.
Race: Konti
Birthday: Spring, day 54, 480 AV (32 Years old)
Gender: Female

Physical Description:

For a Konti, Synthira is middle-height, or perhaps a little tall. She is of small build, but she is stronger than she appears. Her hair curls softly and falls slightly past her shoulders. It is a light blonde, almost cream but with a tinge of yellow. Synthira has lavender eyes. She is very fond of cloaks, and along with white she often wears muted shades of black, red, or blue. She is very pale, and iridescent scales can be seen along her shoulders, legs, feet and hands. Her seer’s lily is in the center of her upper back, just below the nape of her neck. [left]

Character Concept:

Soft-spoken and introspective, Synthira is a thinker and dreamer above all else. She is very religious, currently worshiping Avalis and Rak’keli, but trying to learn as much as she can about the other Gods and Goddesses. She is often comes off as cold, when she is in actuality very shy. She converses readily and easily with people she has grown close to, but is apprehensive when meeting new people (especially of other races). However, when someone mentions a topic or issue Synthira is passionate about, she will become animated and speak without caution. Synthira is characterized by a sort of quiet curiosity. Given the gift of sight at birth, she loves to absorb as much information as she can and tries to view even terrible situations as a learning opportunity. She has difficulty forming close relationships due to shyness, and she sometimes has difficulty telling the difference between dreams and reality. She is very young, and somewhat naïve, which often means she can be influenced rather easily.
As far as ethics go, Synthira does not attack unless strongly provoked, does not kill unless her life, or someone else’s life, is in the balance and thinks of everyone as more or less equal until they prove themselves otherwise. Synthira likes music and art, as a way to express emotion without words, which so often make her uncomfortable. She loves learning and exploring, and because of this loves books and adventures. Synthira also has a fascination with the sea, and with the distant lands beyond the Isle the Konti inhabit. Synthira often dislikes meeting new people, as she is afraid they will develop a negative opinion of her. She also dislikes confrontation and fighting, but she will argue if she feels she has something to prove. She does enjoy a good friendly spar now and then.

History:

Pre- Creation: Synthira’s father was a Vantha singer and storyteller, and she knows nothing else about him. Her mother, of course, is a Konti. From a young age her mother taught her words and phrases from the Vani language, insisting that it was so beautiful anyone would benefit from learning it. She also learned Common before even Kontinese. Both languages were spoken by the Konti around her when she was quite young, but on her travels as an older child, Common was the language of use nearly everywhere she went. Synthira was born in Mura, and lived with her mother and sisters for her first few years. She has little memory of these days, as she was quite young. She was happy then, though she learned much more in the years to come.
She was still a child when her mother decided to leave Mura. She spoke not of reasons or plans, and it all happened very quickly. They took almost nothing with them, apart from a little food, clothes, and a few precious objects the family had owned for as long as memory served. The youngest – or perhaps it was the oldest –sisters stayed behind. It was only Synthira and her mother who went. The passage through Syliras was difficult. Synthira was separated from her mother when dark men took her away. She was told to hide, and she fled into a dark corner of the tavern in which they were staying. She was found a few days later, discovered by an Akalak who claimed to be her mother’s friend. He handed her a package wrapped in blue cloth. Upon unwrapping it, she recognized her mother’s Suvai. With it was a note.
Trust this man. Take this blade and return to our lands. Use it as I have taught you, and remember that the enemy will not match your hesitation to kill.
Do not fear for me, Synthira. Perhaps we will meet again some day.
-Mama

And so she traveled with the stranger for a great many miles, learning scholarly, social, and fighting skills that would aid her for the rest of her life. She was around sixteen when she returned, and there she continued her studies. Now, at thirty, she is finally an adult. She begins to understand the longing of her mother for faraway places, and wishes to be reunited with her once again. She plans to journey as far as it takes to be content, and in her naiveté sees only positive endings.
Post-Creation: None, as of yet.

Gnosis:

1 Gnosis Mark from Avalis
Marked from birth
Marked followers of Avalis bear the first bloom of the Seer’s Lily and can delve into the Chavena at will seeking individual chavi and reading the past. Their sight at this level is rough. It can be unpredictable and hit-or-miss, but if they can indeed find the chavi they are looking for and read of its past, they have no problems coming up with answers to questions that might be presented to them. At this level, individuals cannot read the present or the future. There is also very little danger of mental illness or the seers becoming lost in the Chavena.

Konti Gift:

Synthira’s gift is Bond-Reading. Upon touching someone, she can sense the single person who means most to them at that moment in time (either positively or negatively). She can only see their face, not their name. During this moment she feels a surge of emotion similar to that of the person she is touching toward their respective person.
