Taking the path to the left from the courtyard one will find oneself in the dungeons of Sahova. Soft moans and cries of pain echo day and night on the cold stones, and dark stains splatter the walls and floor. Deep gouges mar the long hallways, as if someone had tried with every fiber of their being not to be dragged deeper into the darkest pit of the island. Torches light the corridors on every floor, though their light does little to banish the shadows from this place.

The dungeons are divided into 5 floors, two above and two below the main floor. Once one crosses the the threshold from the courtyard rows upon rows of prison cells can be seen leading all the way down the hallway. Hands reach out, grasping for freedom as the inmates cry out for mercy, freedom, and in some cases a quick death to end their suffering. Nearly all of the races are represented here, though human's make up the fast majority. From time to time a Kelvic will be seen, but rarely are Konti, Akalak or Jamoura represented in the masses. The path splits several hards in, one going to the left and one to the right, while the last goes straight. The left and right path are also lined with holding cells, and at their end they lead to a spiraling stair case that leads up and down. The floor plan for each of the floors is identical to the main floors, though the very bottom level (B2) is simply an open space filled with grotesque and horrid devices of torture.

The floor below the main floor (B1) is another holding facility for other test subjects, and this is where special holding cells are made for the more foreign races such as the Akavarti can be found. The 1st floor above the main floor holds hundreds of interrogation rooms. The size and contents of each varies depending on the purpose of the interrogation, but each is marked and stained with dried blood which is never cleaned from the walls and floor. Harsh screams can always be heard from one of the rooms here, and it is well known in Sahova that if you are called to a meeting in such a room that it is best to confess to whatever is being charged or face horrors worse than can even be imagined.

The final floor rest just above the interrogation rooms, and is where important figures brought for questioning are housed. The rooms are nice, though not lavish, and would be considered comfortable by most Pulser standards. However, vents are created that lead down to the rooms below so that the screams and calls of pain can always be heard by the inhabitants in clear detail. Those of Sahova call this residence "Dira's Inn" because it is where those whom are destined for true torture, and even death, are left to prepare for their own demise.

Biogrophy

Cryptly, as the nuit prefers to be called, came over with many of the other ancient nuits with the ARMED project. At one time he was a well respected, highly honorable man who tortured and interrogated enemy spies for the glory of the Alahean empire. Now, however, the years have grown long and his once honorable self has decayed along with his body, leaving behind only the soul desire to enact his ancient practices on a new victim, be they deserving of it or not. Cryptly is notorious for taking his games too far, simply sessions of questioning quickly escalating to full on torture sessions which more often than not end in either permanent disfigurement or death. With the advancing of the years the nuit has lost all reservations, and can no longer tell when a procedure has gone too far. At times it is as though he enjoys the act of torture, like he uses it as a justification for his continuing existence.

Once Cryptly was good friends with both Archwizard Mashaen and Lector Qiao, but now it is uncertain to which person he allies himself. Unlike most of the older nuits Cryptly has retained all of his mental faculties, and he has perhaps grown more cunning in his old age than he was when the Alahean empire was still in power. Now he keeps the dungeons in working order, cataloging each and every new prisoner that is added to his stock, and it is he that assigns rooms to be used in interrogations. Those who wish to use the facilities in the Dungeons must first gain permission from the Dungeon Master, or face the table themselves.

Cold, callous and blunt, Cryptly is far too old to care how his words sound to others. He says what he means at the start, and is a shrewd negotiator when it comes to use of his facilities. The nuit actually charges Miza's per bell that the room is used, as well as for the equipment. Some say he stores the miza's away to order more 'unique' torture devices later. Other's simply say the old man just likes to sit and stare at a shiny gold Miza. The man does have the odd habit of juggling a gold rimmed miza between his fingers as he works, and for those that leave his table alive are often haunted by the sounds of his flipping the coin in the air when he is especially excited.


Rental Fees
Upper Rooms: 10 GM per bell

Lower Torture Chamber: 5 GM per bell

Equipment fees: 2 GM for every torture device used, including tables and restraints


OOCPlayers can provide their own torture devices, such as prods, knives, and any other device. Anything used in either the upper rooms or the lower chamber cost extra. If one player wishes to use any of the tables, chairs, or other elaborate torture devices they must be paid for before use. Include in your first post a list of equipment used and the final cost. No moderation required for either the interaction or the use of equipment.
