The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

They were not told where they were going. Not directly, anyway. Korra only knew parts of the story from tidbits her sensitive hearing picked up. She, like the others, was locked up inside a slave caravan, chained to the floor of the vehicle by a collar in human form. There were little ones, smaller than her. Korra had overheard something about Ravok and money. She knew there were at least three men involved: the driver, the man who fed the Kelvics on occasion, and one other who barked orders at the other two. This was the man her father had spoken with before she had been taken away.

Most of Korra's time was spent daydreaming, or observing. She knew there was an uneven wheel in the back of the caravan, for it would give a little bump with every round. She knew that the man who fed them had a few strands of grey in his otherwise brown hair, just over his right ear, despite his youth. A poor man, most likely. Her father had grey hairs like that. She also knew he carried a small pouch of coins at his waist that jingled a little when he moved.

Korra would often steal her neighbour's food when feeding time came around. She didn't feel particularly bad about it; Korra wanted to survive, and the Kelvic canine was rather obnoxious. He often snapped at the little ones when they sobbed, though he whined a good deal, himself. The white panther girl wasn't very fond of him.

During the nighttime, Korra would lay awake, trying to catch a glimpse of the stars from the crevice she'd discovered in the roof's thick canvas. She sang to the little ones until all she remembered was the tune of the lullabye, and she could do naught but hum.

However, Ravok was not their final stop. When the caravan reached the city, some of the Kelvics were let off. The older ones, mostly, but some of the young ones were taken as well. Korra was confused when she and the other little ones were kept in the caravan, only to drive away.

Where were they going?

Days, perhaps weeks, later, she figured they were heading south through Sylira, and then through Cyphrus. Korra remembered stories about the knights of Syliras, and found herself daydreaming about being a princess with an army of brave knights to do her bidding. Perhaps a maid or two to clip her nails, as they were growing awfully long. She would have princes inviting her to lavish parties in their courtyards, and there would be dances and feasts.

Suddenly, there was a shout outside. Korra lifted her head, listening, until one of the men came into the back of the caravan where the Kelvics were locked up. The little ones stirred, and Korra sat up, watching the man warily.

An axe smashed through the top of the caravan, splitting the slaver's head in two.
