Harameus

Harameus is the god of transformation and Alchemy. Widely considered one of the most ancient gods in existence, he is also one of the most alien and reclusive. There are no recorded manifestations of Harameus as a physical being, yet the reality of his existence is beyond debate. His gnosis marks and the messages he leaves to his faithful are unquestionably real, and a part of him exists whenever and wherever something or someone is changing.

Conversations with Harameus are not carried out with conventional means; instead, his devoted learn to recognize his messages as phenomena in the world around them, and respond in kind by applying whatever change they think the god requires of them. A seemingly mundane event such as a strange cloud pattern or a beam of light falling on a specific point will resonate with a few perceptive souls who are attuned to Harameus' sensibility. Harameus values introspection, idealism and independent thinking. His gnosis is called Harameia after him, and empowers the marked with the ability to perceive change and even affect its outcome. He is worshipped as main deity by the Pycon race as well as Alchemists and other world magic users.

Harameus

The Pycon felt a bit ashamed of himself really. Somewhere in the dusty splendor of Ahnatep, the gilded smiles, and the elegant farces, his mission had been lost. Admittedly this mission was always changing. Shim was a volatile creature, and just as his form changed, so too did his whims and plans. But there were two that always remained: Watching for signs from his God, and furthering his magical knowledge. Yet somehow both of these things had been left by the wayside as he struggled to find employment and be of some amusement to the racist inhabitants of the City. Well no longer.

Shim enjoyed watching other people pray to their Gods, it soothed and amused him in equal measure. Occasionally a part of him would twinge with regret that he might never be able to look upon or truly speak to the deity he had devoted himself too, but they were passing thoughts, and every time he glanced at his glowing Gnosis mark, glowing faintly in his clay palm, its physicality was enough. He removed a scrap of parchment from the pack on the floor of his room in The Lady's Lap, dragging it over. Already it was covered with markings, records of how the symbols on his intricate Gnosis mark changed on a nearly daily basis. Roughly handling a stick of charcoal, cut down to be more of his size, the Pycon scrawled the new symbol, showing both what it was, and what the symbol had been before. He imagined eventually this would require a formal notebook, and some knowledge of Glyphing in order to translate the changes. These things would come in time, however, and so Shim slid the paper and charcoal away again and paced the room.

One did not pray to Harameus, Shim knew this better than most. It was a deity without gender or form, whose changes and power were so great and constant, simple words were...inconsequential? No that simply wasn't the correct...Useless? No, not that either. Irrelevant. To show one's faith in Harameus was to find signs of her passage, to pick out the details he left that others could not or refused to see. It was embracing natural changes and invoking them in the world at large. It was something Shim appreciated above all else, to be certain that his path had gone as planned just by looking at a broken tile and examining the cracks, for he knew what the hidden writing meant.

Shim smiled as he climbed up the corded rope in order to get onto the bed where his mount lay sleeping, ears flickering in the remnants of some distant dream. Eyes blinked open, shifting questioningly to ask if they were going for a ride. A small clay hand rubbed the canine's nose affectionately, but shook his head. He climbed up to the stuccoed windowsill, pulling himself over the edge and dangling his legs over the side. It was easier to climb and walk with legs, but now that he was here the limbs fused together into a tail. The Pycon rather liked making the eerily beautiful Dhani/ Eypharian cross. Four arms and a tail were pretty handy, and it disgusted Eypharians and Dhani alike to no end, so Shim could take quite a bit of enjoyment from their expressions.

Tail flicking gently from side to side, scraping the smooth wall and releasing a slight rasping noise the Pycon looked out to the wonderful view of the crowded alleyway below. The smell of excrement and rotting foods wafted up gently in the heat, and Shim took in what would have been a nice lungful had his body contained organs. He looked to the sky, but it was cloudless, he looked to the ground, but it was devoid of life. He had begun examining the decorations that his neighbors hung in their windows or the plants that lay in pots upon the sills, when a piebald pigeon swept past him to land nearly directly across from him upon the window sill. It bobbed its head and pecked curiously at the ground beneath it, and Shim crossed two pairs of arms and set into watch. It was time to stop living by the whims of Eypharians and take the time out of his days to appreciate the little changes that marked the passage of his deity, here and now was as good a time as any.
