The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

One of the more experienced Okomo handlers took the time to escort Ayda to the room he would be staying in. The Handler didn't seem to realize that Ayda was a male and kept using female pronouns to describe him. Ayda was used to this misconception while in his Ethaefal form, they were going to get a rude awakening when night came.

The room was very simple and small but Ayda loved it. It was filled with only the basic of furniture. A bed that was low to the ground, a sky glass desk with a matching chair and a very small closet.
The Handler left Ayda to get his room situated and told him to report down stairs when he was ready. Ayda didn't have many belongings so it didn't take long at all before he had all his clothes organized in his room and his other belongings on his desk.

He walked down stairs to receive his orders, very eager to start work.

First Day on the Job (Okomo Villa)

When he got down the stairs has greeted by Khana Rayastai the head Okomo handler. She told Ayda that his first job would be cleaning out the manure from the Okomo pen while the other Handlers exercised the Okomos. Khana assured Ayda that he would be able to work with the Okomo soon but would need to receive proper training first. Ayda couldn't help feeling a little disappointed, but knew he would get to interact with the Okomos at some point. The thought of working with cow droppings didn't bother him...very much. He actually didn't know much about manure, he knew it wasn't pleasant but that was really all he knew about it.

Ayda was lead to the stable by Khana, The Okomos had already been taken away much to Ayda's disappointment. Ayda was handed a shovel and a large bucket, and was told to dispose of the manure out side near garden. Khana opened the door for Ayda and the two went in side the stable. Ayda was not prepared for the stench that suddenly hit his nostrils, he couldn't describe it but he knew it wasn't good. Khana chuckled a bit and explained that all the handlers feel that way when they first enter the barn in this condition. She reassured Ayda that it wasn't always this bad, the stable just hadn't been cleaned in a while. Khana told Ayda that he was to clean the stables to the best of his ability and take rests if he needs them. She left saying she would be in her office if Ayda needed her.

First Day on the Job (Okomo Villa)

Ayda went to work right away, doing his best to avoid the horrible stench of the stable. Based on how big the stable was and how dirty it was, this task was not going to be done today no matter how he worked. He started at the first stall which seemed to be where the smaller Okomos dwelled. Since Ayda wasn't the strongest, he took only small manageable amounts of manure. The smell was really getting to him and he began to feel a bit sick to his stomach after finishing his first stall. He dragged the heavy bucket out with only minor difficulty, then dumped it in the small manure pile that was already near the garden. He then took a small break to get over the smell so that he didn't end up vomiting.

After Ayda relaxed and smelled fresh air for a while he went back to work. He managed to remove the manure from all the smaller stalls in just a little over three hours taking several short breaks in between. The smell was still getting to him be He was starting to get used to it. The day was fading into night and Ayda was soon to change forms, his Akalak strength would come in handy for the bigger stalls.

First Day on the Job (Okomo Villa)

With the lowering of the sun, the shinning golden vines of transformation encircled Ayda and he reverted to his Akalak form. In his new form Ayda was ready to start the larger stalls. He started on the first stall, showering away at the manure and filling the bucket. He wondered where the Okomo's and the handlers were, the handlers must have taken all the Okomo's out on some kind of massive hunting trip in order to clean the stalls. He shovelled up about a quarter of the first stall before filling up the bucket and talking it outside. The job had become easier but not to the level that Ayda had hoped. He went back in the stable and began to start working on the next stall.

After an hour he had finished the stall, twelve more hours to go. He was getting pretty fatigued and it was almost time for the first sleep block. He decided it was time he took a nap, he would be more more ready to work than if he continued without rest. He put down his shovel and headed for his bed room only to be stopped by one of the handlers who didn't seem to recognize him.

First Day on the Job (Okomo Villa)

"excuse me sir" said the female handler "guest are not permitted in the living quarters, if you wish to inquire about purchasing an Okomo please go to the head desk"
"Oh no I live here, Its Ayda...This is my mortal form." Ayda replied awkwardly. The women seemed very confused at Ayda's response for some reason. Being that she was a resident of Lhavit she should be familiar with Ethaefals, so the concept of having a mortal form couldn't be what was throwing her for a loop. Ayda remembered back to earlier in the day at how the handler he saw in the morning though he was a female. If this women was under the same disillusion than Ayda could see how they would be confused with his current form.
"you seem confused... I am male.. I am aware that my appearance during the day can misleading but I assure you I am not female." explained Ayda
The women stared at Ayda with disbelief for a moment, the information seemed to be hard for this women to process.
"...good to know" the women said still with a bewildered look across her face "I have some paper work to look over now...excuse me" The women walked past Ayda and walked down the hall looking back at Ayda for one last questioning glance.

Once the women had walked down the stairs and out of view, Ayda opened the door to his Bedroom. He was hoping his appearance wouldn't cause him anymore problems.

First Day on the Job (Okomo Villa)

After a good nap he was ready to get back to work. He didn't want to alarm any more of his colleagues so he walked stealthily down the stairs. He managed to get to the stables without anymore interruptions. The rest of the night Ayda was very productive, getting most of the work done talking little breaks. Ayda didn't get to actually cleaning the stables but he did finish cleaning up all the manure which was quite an accomplishment considering the volume. He would have to finish up the job tomorrow. His first day wasn't as good as he had hoped but he was still proud of what he got accomplished. He wondered when he would see the Okomos
