He entered the market slowly and calmly which was the exact opposite nature of the customers that frequently bought their wares at this market. The crowd was alive with conversation. There was so much going on at once. Slaves being sold as well as clothes, and even female bodies selling themselves. He heard vendors promoting their wares "Good loyal Young Slaves!" But he payed no mind for shopping wasnt his objective. He was here to gain coin not waste it and a busy area such as this it was much easier to pick pocket someone who was distracted and much easier to get away and blend in with the crowd so today was the perfect day. He bumped into a man shoulder. "Hey watch it." the man said. he payed no attention and kept on moving further into the market. Peering through the crowd Gideon noticed someone standing out from the crowd. This person was flamboyantly dressed in elegant robes showing off his wealth and grace. "This is my target." he said to himself. He started walking slowly toward this man. Waiting and watching the mans habits. It was already obvious that since he was wealthy he would have more paranoia of someone stealing it from him so he had to be careful. The man turned around to talk to a vendor, and at this point Gideon was only a few feet from him. His heart pounded and mind raced as his hand reached for the mans pockets. People bumped into him almost causing his hand to push into the mans back and giving away his cover. He then got pushed again this time his shoulder barreled into the shoulder of the man. He took this opportunity to use another trick while he was in contact with the man he quickly slid his hand into the mans pockets taking a few coins with him and slipping out unnoticed. "What do you think you are doing."The man said to Gideon. Gideon quickly apologized sincerely to the man over and over again and quickly turned to walk away. "Hey Wait a second!" The man shouted and Gideon Froze in place. He slowly turned around to face the man who was now holding Gideon's dagger in his hand."You dropped this its a nice blade and it'd be a shame if you lost it" Gideon took the dagger slowly from the man's hands and nodded and muttered softly "Thank you" before turning and walking into the crowd and out of the market as quikly as possible He slows his pace as soon as he is out of the market. His eyes dart back and forth from the rooftops to the alleyways. He has a paranoid feeling that someone is watching him and making him out. He stops looks around eyes watching everything. He closes his eyes and listens. A man shoves him from behind "Aye move along will you." Gideon whirled around embarrassed and quickly apologized "I'm sorry." He gathered his thoughts shrugged off this feeling and walked home. |
