Race: Ethaefal (born of Syna), Eypharian in her mortal seeming
Age: Fallen on 3rd of Spring, 512 AV.
Gender: Female

Physical Description

Iselin is an Ethaefal of Syna, and therefore takes her celestial form whenever Syna casts her light over Mizahar (as pictured above). At sunrise, her petite humanoid frame grows to 6 feet even, taller than most women, eye-to-eye with some men. Her skin and eyes stay the same throughout all seasons: her skin glows light gold, almost the color of light, sparkling sand upon a shore. When she moves in the sun she seems to shimmer, her skin picking up all the golden tones of the sun and reflecting them radiantly. Her eyes seem molten hot, the color of amber; in fact, heat seems to radiate from her entire body, a vestige of the sun goddess that she worships.

Like all Ethaefal (aside from the Forsaken), Iselin’s horns and hair change their color gradually throughout the seasons. In the spring, her hair is pale blonde, nearly white, and her horns are lilac. In the summer, the season where Syna’s light shines brightest, her hair darkens to a deep auburn traced with gold, her horns shimmering white. In the fall, her hair loses its gold sheen, staying a rich red, and her horns look as if they’re shaped from gold. In the winter, her hair lightens once more to a very light brown, her horns a deep forest green.

When Leth rules the sky, Iselin assumes her mortal seeming: a 6-armed Eypharian that looks slightly out of place outside of Eyktol. Her skin darkens from its light gold sheen to a deep shade of olive; however, her skin retains a slight shimmer, indicative of the Eypharian race. Her hair is long, nearly to her lower back, but she often keeps it braided into an elaborate hairstyle that she doesn’t quite remember ever learning to create. Her eyes are large and black as oil, heavily ringed with dark lashes. In both her forms, her eyes seem alight with happiness; however, if an observant person looks closely enough, a touch of confusion and perhaps melancholy can be seen.

In this form, prominent cheekbones and a slightly pointed chin make up her long, elegant face. Her frame is thin, but not starved; she stands at about 5 feet, on long legs for such a petite frame. Her arms number 6, each as graceful as the last. Though she can speak Arumenic, the gestures of High Arumenic are fairly lost to her, only coming to her in brief spasms of memory.

Character Concept

As Ethaefal tend to be, Iselin is quiet, introspective, and wise. Her eyes have the look of one that has seen many things: she is secretive about what she remember before her fall, though, and is reluctant to share any information. Aside from fleeting moments of sadness and nostalgia (and forgive the pun) Iselin has quite a sunny disposition. It’s easy to make her smile; when given the chance, and when she feels a connection with someone, she has no trouble talking to them.

She is wary of making lasting relationships, though—she has felt true loss and has no designs to repeat such a thing anytime soon.

The knowledge of her past life in her mortal seeming is very foggy to her: she knows, obviously, that she was an Eypharian woman, but she remembers very little other than an overwhelming feeling of love and happiness when she tries to access that part of her life. She knows that in that life, she was surrounded by people—and she loved it. Being around others was what made her happy, which creates an uncomfortable clash between her mortal and Ethaefal forms. She knows she loves people, and wants to be around them, and it’s easier for her to do that at night. However, her mistrust of relationships and feeling of abandonment sometimes takes over when she inhabits her Ethaefal form, and though she is sunny and happy, she seems distant. This disconnect can make her moody, even angry; her anger is more passionate than calculating, and she has trouble controlling it when it arises.

Overall, since her fall from the heavens, she has had an urge to wander. She feels the need to find herself: she wants to understand why she was chosen to return to Mizahar, how she can balance her love and distaste for people, and she wants to find out what Syna has planned for her in this new, more mortal body.

History

Iselin is nearly a year old in her Ethaefal form, and therefore has had fairly little time to truly develop a history for herself. She fell between the obelisks in the harbor of Zeltiva; she stayed there a little while, getting her bearings, but eventually decided to travel to Lhavit. She felt alone, wanting the company of those like her, and Lhavit seemed a logical choice.

Iselin's history will be developed in real time as she rediscovers humanity.
