Summer 10 (night) 510 av

The night's sky slowly came about the land as the young male who was in his late teens just stood along the streets holding a smile along his face. His name was Jack. Just Jack for he never knew if he did have a last name for his mother never really did tell him.

Tonight was just another normal night for most people. Sleeping in beds, talking with friends and family and some were working like he was. Yet he was not really working a normal job like most for his job was a task of looking and getting items from others. A thief one would say but he did not care. It was a risk taking job but at times it did pay well.

The mark tonight was not such a simple task that he was use to but he wanted to test and push his limits and skills then just stick with low profile areas. It was a middle income area he guessed with how they dressed and acted along with the house being a bit more higher class then the poor setting.

He was only hoping for a few coins or items of value but maybe he would fine more or he would find nothing at all. He would spend days researching a target but he was new to the city and needed a bit more coin then normal even if he was not living in a box.

He had on his body just the black tunic and pants, his thieves tools in a small warped kit with two acid vials that would help out if he had to use them.

The tools were two skeleton keys, long metal picks and pries, a long-nosed clamp, a small hand saw and wedge and hammer. The acid vials were help for the acid could eat through rope, soften up metals, ruin any type of lock and work as a weapon at times.

He was so-so at unarmed combat along with knowing about the human anatomy which would help out if he was caught and had to fight to get away but he would do his best not to kill. Killing was always bad in his view due to it brought forth people from the law and that would make people ask to many things.

With the use of his stealth and acrobatics he would be able to move in a more quiet like manner and to bend his body in more ways then one. Yet he had to work on the areas for they were still so new to him.

The last but not least that help him move about was his skills of investigation for they would help pick out targets, look for clues of items for value and more.

With another nod to himself he looked around the area one last time to get a idea of the area and who was around. With a bit of luck he would be able to get home soon with something new...

A night time walk (Liminal)

Had anyone known what Jack was up to, their description of him might have varied from "tempting fate" to "downright suicidal." Crime was low in Zeltiva, and there was a good reason for that. Zeltivan prisons were notorious, and a large percentage of convicts either died before their sentences were completed, or wished fervently that this had been the case.

The house before which Jack stood was an unprepossessing wooden structure. It was in a district where many of the professors and higher-level clerical functionaries made their homes. The name PINECREST was printed on a large sign that hung on the gate, but it was unclear whether that was the name of the house itself, the people who owned the house, or just the foundry that had manufactured the gate. The gate itself did not appear to be locked, and opened via a simple latch.

The houses were spaced some thirty feet apart. Though this particular house was dark, lights were visible in several others, including its neighbor to the left. This late, no one was out on the street, though a large dog was chained to a tree by the house across the way. A carriage was rumbling away a block ahead, its wheels kicking up a small plume of dust.
