This is Falyndar at its finest. Danger lurks everywhere - in the ground, in the trees, in the bush. Only the strongest survive...

"Oh, you hear stories. Everyone does. Not just the usual, with cannibals and savages and dire tigers and gigantic, talking snakes, lost cities of gold and all that rot. Things even more... strange. Like the pools that shimmer all day and night, and the people that swim in them come out with their eyes afire and djed coursing through them..."

The largest Lightning Pool, deep in south-eastern Falyndar, in the lands of the Lightning Eyes clan

There are corners of Falyndar that even the Myrians consider a wilderness. Stretches of jungle where the canopy is so thick that the ground is never kissed by sunlight, where the foliage is so ravenous that feet have not marred it, and there are whispers among the Children of Myri that tribes and races thought long-extinct still scratch out a living, eternally hiding from the ruthless race of warriors.

But there are Myrians there, too. Clans regarded as cutthroat and primitive even among a whole race of savages. Existing for generations far from Taloba, these clans were among the last to swear fealty to the Goddess-Queen, and while they are loyal, they jealously guard their lands and the secrets they hold in the deep jungle.

Such as the Lightning Pools.

Within the meager but distant lands of the Lightning Eyes clan are a handful of pools, some barely bigger than a bath tub, the largest the size of a swimming pool. Whether it is due to some crack in the earth tapping into the lay lines of the earth or some magic wove centuries before, the waters endlessly bubble and shimmer as if white flame has given them life. Warm to the touch, but not scalding... seductive and comfortable... and all those who enter them leave with their eyes shining with that same, djed-inspired glow.

And they are changed forever.

The Lightning Eyes are proud of their name and their pools, for it is a sign to them that Caiyha herself blessed their lands with such power. Their use is reserved only for those clan members who have proven themselves as matchless warriors or loyal servants of both clan and Myri. But even they do not know how the djed-soaked waters work.

Not everyone that bathes themselves and returns with the power to control flame or move rocks with their minds. Most, however, are regenerated and rejuvenated in equal measure. Years can slough off and even critical wounds and ailments are washed away like the common cold.

But some poor, rare souls emerge twisted and deformed, begging for death. It is the soul, the witches of the Lightning Eyes say, of which their are naturally many. The waters read the soul of those that enter, and if those energies are impure and corrupted, so becomes the body. As far as the clan is aware, no barbarians have ever set so much as a toe in the waters, and the Lightning eyes naturally guard the pools at all times. Even their location is a mystery to anyone outside the clan itself, most Myrians actually believing them to be a myth.

But they are out there. Shimmering and glowing in the darkness and gloom of the deep jungle, waiting to reward or punish according to some inscrutable power...

Moderator Note :
This location requires Moderation from myself if one wishes to use it. As said in the description, the Pools are very hard to find and few even know they exist. Persuading the Lightning Eyes to share their power is equally difficult, and it is a truly gifted or remarkable soul that may earn that reward
