Yuri Forsin

Appearance

Race: Ghost (Human when alive)
Gender: Male
Age: 19 at time of death
Birthday: 7th of Winter, 492 AV
Birthplace: Syliras

Appearance:
A ghost who appears with a slim figure at a height of 5'8", the ghost's pallid pale skin contrasting eerily with his unnaturally bright green eyes. Yuri's black hair comes down almost past his ears in windswept bangs. Yuri's ethereal human form appears to be dressed in a refined looking black tailcoat with a white ruffle shirt underneath and black pants paired with black boots. They would have been refined looking were it not for the bloodstains...

Character Concept

Yuri is a soft-spoken and introverted individual who prefers the silent solitude of nature to crowded areas with many people; the ghost feels it is a lot more beneficial to his composing. Having been a prodigy of a music composer and pianist when still alive, he often sings or hums fragments and snatches of a new composition he is making; death hardly hinders this musician from doing what he loves. If only he could get his hands on a piano again, or write down his compositions on paper again...

In life he was of a more gentle and bright character, but since his death he has become increasingly cold and melancholic, though he still shows his warmer side with a ghostly but kind smile. Yuri is an introvert, but that doesn't mean he abhors the presence of others. In fact, he is always in search of someone he could talk to even just briefly, but he is just too shy for that matter. It takes someone else to introduce themselves to Yuri if they want to know him; if they do so, Yuri usually gladly greets them, having been starved of any companionship for so long. His initial chilliness melts to a warmer personality.

Not violent by nature, Yuri keeps himself controlled most of the time and adheres to strict morals and manners, but the pain caused by the loss of loved ones and dying unable to do anything, this obviously has affected the ghost's mind. Revenge, is on his mind; his music composition may be the only thing keeping his mind preoccupied from vengeance. At the moment, Yuri cannot bring himself to harm another, but his hatred for the Spiritist who kidnapped Aya, as well as killing her father and Yuri himself in front of her, grows everyday. In his wandering Yuri had managed to calm this violent revenge seeking, for now. But there still remains a strong dislike on his part on the practitioners of Spiritism because of his past. Whether this will result in the insanity common in all ghosts, only the future can tell.

Character History

Yuri never knew who his parents were and has absolutely no memory of them; in fact he is not even sure if he was even born in Syliras or not. As for his parents, whether they abandoned Yuri as a child or passed away, no one knows. Not even Landar Forsin, who was an old friend of Yuri's parents, knows of their fate. But Landar raised the young Yuri like his own son alongside his daughter Aya, who was three years younger than Yuri. In later years, when Yuri wanted to know more about his real parents, Landar would sadly smile and told him they passed away from a horrible illness. Yuri was never disturbed by this much, for he saw Landar and Aya as his real family. The three lived together in a fair sized house on the Second Tier, Landar being a government official. Landar always had a love of music, and often played on the old piano passed down in his family. From a young age, Yuri showed the skill of a prodigy when he first played on the piano in Landar's home. Seeing his talent, Landar encouraged Yuri to follow the path of a musician. Yuri grew more and more skilled as he matured, and he even began creating his own compositions by the age of 13. Often, he would make songs for Aya to sing, who very much enjoyed this. Yuri and Aya's bond grew closer as they grew older, Yuri accompanying her singing with his piano playing. On his sixteenth birthday, Yuri received a small gift from Aya and Landar: a small silver pendant in the shape of a treble clef on a chain. From that day on, the pendant has never left Yuri's hand, always hanging from his neck. The future seemed bright for this aspiring musician and composer, Landar arranging an opportunity to perform to the greater public of Syliras. But... that never came to be.

The day before the first public performance, Aya had gone out briefly to get the music Yuri had accidentally left at their home. She didn't come back. Worried, Yuri and Landar frantically ran back to their home. They found the door blown of its hinges, the insides of the house looking like a tornado had hit with items strewn across the floor. There was only a message left scribbled onto the wall in charcoal: Tell the Knights, and you and your children will die Forsin! Come to the Bronze Forest and follow the symbols, then perhaps you can see your daughter again! With the performance only in an hour, Yuri and Landar had to abandon it; they had to save Aya, but they could not ask of the Kights's assistance. Leaving the city, the two came out to the Bronze Forest, following the eerily marked symbols on the trees. They eventually came to somewhere deep in the forest, when they saw a man dressed in black robes and cloak approach them, an unnatural presence around him. Landar seemed to recognize the man almost at once, but an arrow came flying seemingly out of nowhere and impaled itself in Landar's shoulder. Bewildered, Yuri looked around for an archer, but he found something far more sinister: ghosts. Ghosts were rising up from the ground, their forms hazy and unclear. around the silent robed man, who from under the hood could be seen smiling malevolently. Yuri was shocked and horrified in the presence of these beings and saw one with multiple arrows floating by it in tendrils of a hazy mistlike substance. The man gave a nod to that ghost, and the arrows flew through the air and into Landar. The man fell to the ground with a thud, arrows sticking out all over his body. Yuri could only watch helplessly, rushing to his father's side, but it was too late, Landar Forsin was dead. Yuri felt a wild rage for vengeance take over as he rushed at the man blindly, when he saw Aya behind the man, being held captive by one of the ghosts, screaming for help. Seeing this, Yuri faltered in his step momentarily, but that was enough time for a ghost to embrace him in their deathly chilling touch. Falling to his knees writhing in pain from the ghost's touch, he could see daggers floating above him, ready to fall. Yuri screamed desperately at Aya when he felt several sharp blades plunge into his back, chest, and neck, and then nothing. Only a pitch black darkness.

After what seemed an eternity, Yuri awoke, still standing in the forest. There was no sign of the Spiritist and his ghosts, nor of his father's corpse. That's when he realized, he had changed. His hands were translucent and hazy, his outlines no longer clear. Small tendrils of a grey mist surrounded Yuri. That's when he realized, he had died. Not only that, he had become a ghost. Weeping bitterly, Yuri would have gone insane from seeking vengeance, when he heard in the back of his head, a new inspiration for a music piece. Yuri left the forests, moving away from the city. For almost a year he wandered, trying to get used to his new ethereal form and its abilities, searching for Aya, and trying to find the man who killed Yuri. This proved fruitless, but through his own death, Yuri found a new but morbid inspiration for future compositions. After wandering through Mizahar, Yuri found himself back in his home city of Syliras.

That's where his story truly begins...
