OOCJoin as you may. I was given permission to hold this event by Elysium, so just keep in mind the posting order. Thank you! 10th/Summer/513 A.V. With the opening of the Annual Banquet approaching, Liriah and the rest of the Shooting Star staff were busy with their own little chores, hands and feet twirling and rushing through the spacious room, the cyclone of bodies twisting artfully around and between the arrangement of tables. Decked out in her usual work attire, Liriah made her way across the room with a stack of fresh, clean white velvet sheets, swapping dirty ones for clean sheets and placing them in the basket hanging from the crook of her left elbow. The staff who swept across the room before her were doing a fine job clearing the tables of the usual tableware. It made her job so much easier without having to maneuver around the cutlery and candles. Walking into the kitchen with her basket filled with dirty velvet, Liriah left the basket in the care of the girl in charge of cleaning them. Turning back in the direction she came from, Liriah was instantly aware of the noise coming from outside. Taking a wooden of tray filled with flutes of wine and an array of tempting finger-foods, Liriah took a few deep breaths, bringing composure to her frame, and slowly stepped towards the other waiters and waitresses. Liriah had never been in such a large gathering before, especially in the midst of one, and it was truthfully frightening. The banquet had finally begun as Syna's light began to dim, the crowd outside signalling the beginning of the Nocturnal feast, Liriah and a few other staff members waiting for their signal to enter with the appetizers and beverages. Straightening her back and plastering a warm smile onto her face, Liriah was all set to go. While they waited, Liriah inhaled the fragrant mists and aromas flowing off of the pots and pans, the sounds of crackling roasts, tossing pans, and stirring pots resounding off the walls. Although the noise outside was louder then it was before, it had seemed to level out, the muffled sound of chairs scraping against the floor rebounded off the golden walls of the Shooting Star as the occupants of the hall-like room took their seats, a hush subtly passing through the crowd. It was obvious to Liriah and the other waiters and waitresses what had happened. Terence had begun his speech. |
