62nd summer 513AV

A late day start was on today's agenda, xi's given say a message to say they'd be starting a lesson today on learning how to throw a solid kick at the thirteenth bell: instead it was now the fifteenth. She was over two hours late but all that meant was that Xi himself could get some extra training in. So eh didn't look at it too harshly, and in the last couple of days his overall physique had grown a little more defined and harder. Most from the development to his back muscles. Xi hung from the tree in the court yard by his legs and began to do upside down crunches reaching about fifty by this point. His breathing was steady and his body calm, not cool and sweat raced down his back with every pull and reset. A small puddle had arisen in the earth beneath him darkening the earth. Every reset through the motions Xi threw out a punch forwards using this as a way to enhance his ability to dodge and hit at the same time. Eventually Xi heard the steps of someone in a hurry coming towards him.

Sayren was out and about in the city, along with Garel. Ximal had given her a message that they would start training at about the 13th bell. She figured that meant she had some time to at least ride along with Garel for a bell or so before coming back to the Grounds. She wanted to change up the routine a little. She remembered The Cursed Bridge that some of the people had whispered about. Figured it would give Garel a bit more of a challenge rather than to just sprint alongside The Aperture.

When they approached the bridge, Garel was already weary about being near it. Something about it just spooked him. Sayren raised an eyebrow, "Come now, don't be frightened. It's only a superstition. You and I can cross this easily." The strider sighed, making his lips flap from the exhale of air.

"No, it's not just you carrying me from one side to the other, its both of us here." The strider just simply looked away in resigned agreement. She whispered for him to push and he sprinted across the bridge. The strider was now anxious, glancing over at his sides. However, she kept him steered straight. It was about a bell by the time they reached the other side, which was much longer than she anticipated. Then she heard it, the 13th bell of the day. She turned Garel around and whispered hurriedly, "C'mon! We're late!"

The Strider dashed across the bridge once more. Abandoning all thoughts of his surroundings and kept with his fast sprint. It was about the 15th bell when she arrived at the grounds once again. She hastily dismounted and brought Garel to some water as she quickly dried herself of sweat with a towel. Then sprinted into the building. She knew Ximal was going to be so enraged by her lateness! She finally reached the training area where Ximal was and she gave a quick bow, "Sorry Ximal! Time slipped by much quicker than I thought." She remained still, eyes glued onto her master.

Say ren eventually arrived and Xi righted himself as she got into the training area. Xi smirked and dropped onto the ground by grabbing the branch and flipping himself over. Her apology came fast and hard however Xi just waved it off. "It's no big deal, it's still the same day and i don't really have much to do so i just used the extra time to train myself. Y'know in five days i'm headed into the aperture, so i thought i'd give you and sav Some intensive training to work on whilst I'm out of commission for three days. for you say I'm starting you on kicks." Xi smirked and cracked his neck before judging the distance between them deeming it safe to throw a kick. Xi readied his body and angled his kick high aiming it around level with her head swinging his foot out he brought his hips around and brought his leg up in a snapping chai kick. An advanced move than what he was going to teach her first off. Mostly because it would be something good to have her learn herself whilst he was down in the aperture.

That kick i just did is what i'm teaching you. Your going to be learning it from the stance however i can throw it out of stance because i know it so well. It's a basic move with about three to four times the power of a punch. You've made enough progress for me to start teaching you slightly more advanced moves. For this kick follow my motions." Xi fell into his stance his legs shifting his right leg back and his left leg forwards as if he was going to throw a right punch, instead it was a kick. "Right now from here you twist your left foot to the heel is pointing towards your other leg for stable footing. You bring your hips and upper body to the left and bright your kick around from the right. the motion of your body will help accelerate the power. Also because of how I'm teaching it to you you don't need to be supremely limber to use it, in fact all you need to do is throw the kick your body will balance it'self and leave you a good positioning to strike out with another attack." Xi smirked and demonstrated this fact twisting his foot and bringing his body down low to the left his right leg then shooting out like a air cutting whip. At the peak of the kick showing off his balance a little he held the positioning. "this is a kick that you aim to hit with using your shin. Because your shin is harder it also hits harder. If you use your foot you get more of a whipping effect and it stings a lot more but does less over all damage. Now it's your turn."

Sayren gave a small sigh of relief, alright, maybe he wouldn't be as mad as she thought? Then he told her about how he was going into the Aperture for a few days, so he was going to give her and Sav some intense training while he was gone. Her task, was learning how to kick. She watched him ready for a kick, not by sliding into a stance, but rather giving a quick judge of distance before following through. He brought his hips around snapped his leg up near her head with a powerful kick. She could feel the wind pass by from his momentum. She blinked for a few moments...petch...This was definitely much more advanced than what he had been teaching her. She had a feeling she';s going to end up owing many more favors by the time she finished learning this one.

He went on explaining the kick to her. How it could be used from the stance he had been teaching her, that it was also three to four times stronger than a punch, and how it could help her more fluidly in combat. He continued by explaining how exactly you should be in the stance to bring out the kick.

She immediately slid into stance, giving it a try to at least be ready for when she kicked. He told her that the kick is mainly aiming with your shin, so it could do more damage, otherwise, the foot would just be like a whip, causing a sting but less damage in actuality. And now...it was her turn.

She took a deep breath. This was NOT going to end well. She focused on the move she was going to do, the kick that Ximal just showed her. Her right leg slid towards the back and her left towards the front. She shifted her hips and swung around, getting excited, she snapped the kick into the air! She did it and she quickly realized she overshot the kick, putting more momentum than her one leg could hold and she fell over. She sighed in embarrassment as she swiftly got to her feet and brushed herself off, "By the 7...that was humiliating..."

Xi smirked and watched say try to preform the tech he'd just showed her in actuality her stance was much better than it had been stronger footing and harder to push over, however she still lack looseness that was something she'd have to figure out by herself. However he could see that she didn't turn her foot to negate the excess momentum. And the result was obvious she fell on her ass. Again though she picked herself up and combated her embarrassment. "What you didn't do there which lead to your own momentum pulling you off balance and making you fall is you didn't shift your foot. Shifting your foots positioning from straight to angled helps carry the momentum of your kick around and have it land softer. The positioning also helps you accept the momentum easier and adjust for it." Xi smirked and threw out another one showing her quite blatantly the foot motion she missed. "Right learn now to do that and eventually i'll show you how to do this one." Xi took two steps back to put some distance between himself and her. Xi kicked out with his right leg and then sprung off of his left leg as he rolled his torso back to deliver a powerful kick from the opposite side and whilst he held himself mid air he uses the momentum of the kick to flip over and land back on the ground. "It's a very advanced move and is very difficult to pull off. However it's a very potent one, as it's very unexpected." Xi kept the distance between them and rolled his neck lightly loosening the stiffening muscles in his back before continuing. "Right now gimmi one hundred, fifty per leg as the usual. Two mistakes this time as your stance is solid. This time if you mess up two times there's a favour."

When Sayren got back up, Ximal explained what it was that she had missed. It was the other foot, she was paying so much attention to the foot that was striking, that she paid no heed to the on in rest for balance. The he showed off what she would eventually learn. This made her eyes widen, she was both excited and intimidated. Her honest thought was, she's going to be owing LOTS of favors...Then he asked for one hundred kicks, fifty from each leg as to be expected.

She nodded and brought herself to the stance once more. Taking a deep breath. She rearranged her hips as she dragged her right foot forward and struck upwards, remembering to also slide her left foot to the side in compensation for the momentum. Feeling that the strike was successful, she brought the foot down, which had her set up in the next stance. Out of curiosity, she quickly followed it up with a punch. Twisting her left arm a little as it lunged forward. It was remarkably much smoother than Ximal had described it to be. However...she felt like something had to have been wrong. There was just no way she had pulled that off without making at least some sort of mistake. Although, she did know, all she accomplished out of that was one kick. Out of one hundred.

She was improving however the simplest mistake was not made. instead as she finished the kick she followed through with a punch. One much more advanced than he'd shown her...She'd really been practising those punches. Xi folded his arms and leant against the tree watching for any small fault, however he really couldn't see many in the next ones. Still Xi then decided to test the girls concentration. "So hows things been ion the school, after all i take it you've met with Savio and at least one of the other teachers, what's your impression of them?" Xi closed his hand from an open palm into a solid fist, his mind focusing on a few other combinations of punches, he'd extended his kick knowledge to the point where he could put a serious dent in metal, with his knees. Xi stepped out from the tree and held his fists above his shoulders in a new stance to say but an all too familiar one to him. Xi crouched forwards and fell into a boxing stance. The simple stance looking farily basic and untrained compared to the one Xi had taught her however when Xi threw out a jab it flew faster and stringer than the punch he'd taught say.

He taught her the basis to his style this was specialized for punches, he had others specialized for offence defence punches kick and even one for surprise assaults. However She's have to earn him teaching them to her. "Also with those kicks once you land one, i want you to try to keep your balance and hold your self still aver about fifty or so, then you'll get a feel for how-much power you need to put in. Also make sure your angle stays high. If it drops your hitting their shoulder or their upper arm , which is going to hurt you as much iof not more than them."

Sayren was pretty certain something went wrong in her last combination. However, Ximal surprised her with questions about school, Savio, and even Revy. He wanted to know her impressions of them. Since she assumed he didn't bring up her kick punch combination, she must've done it correctly then. This made her smile before she glanced down to remember which stance she was in. The left foot was forward now, which was right considering she started a kick with her left forward, followed by the punch.

She quickly rolled her hips and launched another strike with her right foot, "Savio seems alright. A strange man, but he's nice." She brought the foot down and readied herself for the other, remembering now to shift with the other foot so she didn't knock herself off balance, "But the odd thing about him is...I don't..." She rose her left foot into the air, trying to imagine it striking at someone's head. "I don't understand his ambition. I'm glad he wants to learn, but I can't see why he wants to learn." She lowered the left foot and readied herself for the next strike, taking a deep breath, "And as for Revy, she's not much different than you. She seems to have an odd need for swatting my buttocks with a blunt sword." Now she struck with the right foot. She noticed she was dropping a little, maybe the conversation was distracting her a little. she dropped her right foot, putting a little bit more focus into it, she raised her left foot higher when she struck.

She noticed he didn't speak back right away. That's when she glanced aside at him to see him in some odd stance. His fists were raised and he seemed to be jabbing at the air. It perplexed her, but she assumed it must've been a style he discovered during his trainings. Then he brought up to her that with every kick, he wanted her to hold still for a quick moment. At least for about fifty of them. Then the warning about what would happen if her kicks dropped to about the shoulder height. It would possibly hurt her more than the opponent, definitely something to keep note of.

For about half a bell, she kept with the kicks. Pausing for a moment after each one till she reached fifty. Or better yet, twenty-six with her right foot and twenty-four with her left. She remembered when she started, it was a right kick, a punch, then another right kick before she went into this sequences of kicks. She took a deep breath to rest for the moment. Sweat had already started to bead around her forehead and roll down her skin, "Half way there..."

Xi smirked at say's thoughts on revy and savio. It was an obvious yet fairly deliberate statement however Xi decided to throw jabs even faster then came across with a straight so sharp the air snapped with it's throw. Xi then reset to try again as he spoke. "Where savio is strong is the fact he has everything you lack. However he also lacks everything you have. So view it from that perspective if i asked him he'd probably say the same as you, but in a differnt way." Xi then switched from jabs and straights into ducks and weaves stepping in and dodging his body left and right weaving his head as well never looseing track of his imaginary target. "As far as revy is concerned though she's strong. Very strong." xi stopped for a moment to point at the scar on his face from his nose down his face beneath his eye adn the scr on his right arm's biceps. She gave me these two scars when we fought. To be honest you'd stand to learn a lot from her. She's a proud and strong woman. However, that pride often get's the best of her, she has the tendency to push people away, and as far as i knwo she hates me. Quite vividly."

Xi then glanced over at her and rose an eye brow. She'd stopped to rest. "I don't recall saying you could stop did i ? That's four marks. Until I say you can stop don't stop, the amount of repetitions i have you go through helps build your stamina so you can throw more before feeling the need to stop. So get back into stance and keep going." Xi closed his eyes and began his motions again this time adding in the jabs and straights into the weaves and dodges motions he'd been practising, his simple steps forwards closing gaps in the flash of an instant allowing his punches to get some excess force.

She listened to what all he had to say about Revy and Savio. She never thought about it that way from Savio's view. He was rather adept at evasion and was rather skilled in acrobatics. Then for Revy, it sounded all about right. The woman was impressively strong, and her pride just seemed near impossible to break. He told her she had much to gain from training with Revy and she agreed. Especially since Sayren lacked any sort of knowledge towards weaponry.

When she stopped, he quickly gave her a remark about it and added another mark to her punishments. She didn't backtalk or groan, she just nodded and went back to her kicks. Since she was passed fifty, she was giving any time between each kick. One flowed right into the other as she moved across the room, then turned around started right back over. Since she didn't have to pause, this number of kicks were almost completed within a matter of 15 chimes. She had just finished her fiftieth right kick, but still had two more left kicks to go. So, in a flash of creativity, she snapped the left foot into the air, then used the momentum to spin around on both feet, gaining more momentum to swing out and snap her left leg again. Leaving it in the air for a brief moment before dropping it to the floor.

She was breathing a little hard after that one. It felt pretty smooth, and the fact that she didn't fall and bust her buttocks doing it made her feel rather accomplished. She sighed relief, "whew...that was fun."
