Yumi sighed as she turned into her human form and sat on Kujyaku's bed. She was told yesterday that Kujy was accepted in her hunting job and was going out to practice today with her new short bow that Yumi bought for her two days ago, as a gift. After all, she did have enough money after moving in with her new friend, so it was the least she can do. But she felt kind of lonely... Normally she would just stalk Kujy like anyone else she had an interest in, but the terrain was different here compared to Ravok, so she'd be caught within a few minutes. So she let her mind drift as she tried to think of what to do today. Maybe she could go to the library? Even if she could just barely read, she knew enough to understand. It sounded like a good idea, but she didn't want to just read for fun-not today atleast-she wanted to boost her skills like Kujy was, so she can be a little more useful. But what should she learn? Would she even be able to understand what she's reading? She shrugged, thinking that she should get a book on something simple so even if she didn't understand everything, she would know enough. She jumped off the bed wanting to get started now and ran to the door, then paused realizing that she was still naked-which Kujy warned her not to go outside in her human form no matter what time of day it was-and she was forgetting to get bring that big book on Astrology to... What was the name of it?

After yanked her clothes off the chair and hurridly put them on, she ducked her head under Kujyaku's bed and pulled out the book. "Book of Astronomy, remember, Book of Astronomy..." She said to herself, knowing she had trouble remembering what some (Written) words were, she muttered 'astronomy' a few more times as she looked directly at the word before picking up the hifty book and walking out of the cottage. On her way she nearly dropped it a few times, either from someone bumping into her shoulder or almost loosing her grip simply from its weight, but she did make it inside the library before she lost her grip entirely and it slipped out of her nubbing fingers; making a rather loud THUMP as it hit the ground she winced when a few people shooshed her and smiled appologencly before picking it up again and placing it on the table. She shook her hands a bit and looked at some of the other books that were also on the table. "Un...armed.. combate?... Combat." She was struggling to read the cover, "Book.. on... unarmed... combat fighting moves." She poundered over weather she should learn this skill.

Maybe she should just take it for her and Kujyaku to learn together. Yumi was fine as long as she could turn into her tiger form but as a human she had the average strength of a teenage girl, and Kujy was even weaker than her so it would benift the both of them to learn from it later, but not now. She picked it up and moved it under her right arm before she looked at the other books on the table.

The others were mostly story books, as far as she could tell. She walked to the shelves and searched for something to learn hands on; after several minutes she pulled out a book almost as heavy as the astrological one "Acrobatics... training." She remembered back when she was younger how she'd watch people do all kind of tricks: bending all kinds of ways, being able to fall from really tall highets, and doing all kinds of amazing things. She looked through it, a little surprised how simple it was worded, but happy because that would make it easier to read through before looking for a useful skill book.

◾Combatants: Whether in hand-to-hand or armed combat, acrobatics can help a person evade, confuse, or simply add their own unique style to any fight.
◾Freerunners: Using the landscape to get from A to B is not only a sport for creative athletics, but an important tool for messengers, thieves, and other stealth artists.

Maybe this skill can be useful....

Shifting the book under her arm to her hands and placed it under the other one. After making sure it was ok to take them she hurried back to the cottage and put the combat book on the bed, then flipped through the Acrobatic book. She grinned excitedly seeing the things she'll be able to do once she starts training and the skills she'll be able to improve on or learn while she is. She'll be so much more effective as a hunter as well!

With the book in hand she ran out the cottage and to Mirahil Pass to start training. This was going to be so much fun!

15th Day of Summer, 513 AV

Ceira, for the past day or two, has been exploring Zeltiva. It seemed like everywhere she went, there was a little undiscovered nook or cranny she had yet to see. With an insane amount of curiosity, this had kept her occupied for days whilst she wandered around the port-side city. Wandering. Huh. That seems to be the only thing I do these days.

Although an area that Ceira still had yet to see was the mountain range surrounding the whole city. She managed to get a glimpse of Mirahil Pass when she first arrived, but that was fleeting. The desire to let her animal out was also a need that drove her to explore the grass-covered mountains. At least there she could walk around in peace without anyone questioning her choice of clothes, or lack thereof.

Ceira made it to the pass, before following a faint and dusty hikers trail up the side, careful not to fall or stumble. Thats just what I need. To fall off the side of a damn cliff before I even get to the top. She kicked a rock out of the way, glaring at it as it rolled a little down the hill, stopping in a clover patch. Yep, definitely don’t want to fall. Continuing to trudge up the steep hill, she bowed her head to avoid the afternoon sun.

Ceira reached the peak of the hill quite a few chimes later, weary and huffing. I really need to exercise more often. She staggered to a boulder, before sliding down to the ground and resting her back against the hard surface. She yawned, blinking a couple of times to rid herself of exhaustion. Well, I guess this is as good a place as any for a workout.

She yawned again as she rose to her feet, slapping herself a bit to stop her from dozing off. A jog maybe? She started up her run, dodging any boulders that thought it would be a good idea to trip her. Unfortunately, one of the rocks must have moved without her noticing.

Thump.

“Argh! You damn petching rock!” Ceira landed in a tangled heap beside the said perpetrator, glaring at a small scrape on her shin. Well, at least its just a scratch. And I needed to do some stretching, right here will do. She started to lean forward to touch her toes, feeling the strain in both her legs and back, I’m so unfit. When was the last time I did anything remotely related to exercise? Oh yeah, thats right - Never.

Yumi looked up at the large hill side trying to think of her next move. Since she arrived she didn't explore Ravok much, if at all, and when she would come out here she would stay on the flatter part of the grassy-mountains and walk to the denser wooded area while Kujyaku picked herbs for their drinks; so it would be fun to explore for a while. Suddenly she shook her head; she wasn't here for exploring, she was here to train. The first thing she wanted to practice in was the basic vault, partly because she was used to doing that on flat lands in her animal form when she ran(how hard could it be to do the same thing when you're jumping off something in her human form?)but mostly because she wanted to boost her upper body strength and figured supporting her own body weight would be a good place to start. There weren't many flat rocks down here and none of them were large enough for vaulting but there were quite a few up the hill, probably. There were a lot of rocks on this side so there should be some bigger ones at the top.

Not feeling like going around to find a side that wasn't as steep to climb up, she jumped, book in hand, and she caught the first rock she could get a grip on. Her feet slipped a bit as she pulled herself up and started walking, careful to avoid a some rocks along the path, then continued the pattern of jumping, climbing, and walking until the book dropped out of her hand near the top. She growled seeing it fall on the grassy hill's side about 5 feet down. Carefully, she started to climb down, and when she was almost within arms length, keeping one hand the thinly stagnited slab of grassy ground above and her feet planted on the side, she reached for it. She just needed a few more inches to reach the book. Just a few more- got it! Just in time for the ground under her fingers give away and make her slide down the steep, rocky hill side.

She managed to grab onto a rock and scramble onto a flat part of the hill side, her eyes stung with tears from the pain running all throughout her back, she was more than sure the back of her shirt was ripped up. Making a hissing noises through her teeth she placed the book in her mouth, and rubbed the tears from her eyes, then climbed up the same way as before, making sure to be a lot more careful as she did so. She climbed up to the hill top and put the book ground, making a disgruntled sound seeing that she couldn't train here without hurting herself. The ground wasn't very flat and the slabs of stones she could have used had smaller rocks jutting out of the ground.

She took off her shirt and looked at the back, the damage wasn't as bad as she thought it would be-just a few holes and a long tear down the back-but she would need to buy a new one. Hopefully Kujyaku wouldn't mind paying for it, Yumi didn't think she could afford to keep waisting money like this when she didn't even have a job yet; but that was something to worry about later. Taking off the rest of her clothes she rolled them over her book and turned into her tiger form. Carefully picking the items up in her teeth, she started down the hill to an easier to travel path. Easier meaning it's not as steep; it had more rocks down this path than the way she came up, so she had to walk carefully or risk hurting her paws.

“Argh! You damn petching rock!” What was that? She walked over where she heard the sound come from and saw a woman stretching near a rock. Being in plain sight the older woman easily spotted her from where she was standing, which was above her. Not seeing any weapons on her person Yumi decided to wait and see what this person's reaction would be to a near-fully grown tiger standing above her. It was more out of curiosity than anything, not being misichivous type she didn't take a threatening stance or really do anything, just waited to see what the woman would do.

15th Day of Summer, 513 AV

I give up. A cool mountain wind ruffled Ceira’s messy and somewhat dust-covered hair. The breeze had a slight tinge of saltiness, which she attributed to the ocean down below. She had been stretching for a few chimes now, but had long ago lost interest. She now lay on her back, looking up at the few pearl white clouds that slowly moved across the light blue sky.

Ceira placed a hand over her forehead and squinted her eyes to avoid looking directly at the sun. Hey... that one looks like a boat! Her eyes flicked to the cloud, which looked nothing like a boat at all. It seemed her tired mind was easily amused, as she continued to point out any shapes she saw - or imagined - above her. Bunny... Shell... Feather... She sighed, allowing herself to indulge into another lazy yawn. Hammer... Tiger... Wait. Tiger? Ceira’s eyes widened in surprise. Oh petch! She stayed there, her eyes staring at the large tiger that loomed on the rocky precipice above her. She was unsure if she should stay still and hope the tiger would lose interest, or to take the risk of moving and get away.

Ceira’s face furrowed into a frown before she chose the latter, quickly scrambling to her feet and darting a couple of paces away, scattering small rocks and squashing plants as she did so. How did I not sense it? I must be more tired than what I thought! She was bristling inside, embarrassed that she hadn’t picked up on the scent. Stopping just a couple of feet away, she turned to finally get a better look at the creature, a slight glean of sweat on her brow. Its golden-orange coat was branded with with black stripes, white colouring of fur tinted its underbelly and paws. Even from here she could see the powerful cord-like muscles it possessed.

Funnily enough, one of the first things that Ceira noticed, was that it didn’t seem to react at all. It was just standing there. Still. Quiet. Almost as if it was waiting. Ceira took this as somewhat of a good sign and relaxed just a sliver as well, straightening up to cross her arms. Now, what would a tiger be doing around here? She knew it couldn’t be a Myrian Tiger, as her mother, an avid traveler during her youth, told her stories of the wild beasts in the jungles close to Taloba. They weren’t found anywhere else in Mizahar, well, not to her knowledge, so there was only one explanation.

“Kelvic?” She questioned the creature out loud, a finger flicking in motion towards the tiger. To any other outsider, talking to a great big cat would be insane, and if she was anything other than a Kelvic, she would have been hightailing it out of there. She was instantly suspicious of the tiger though, it was just standing there, which irked her to no end. What was it waiting for? Why hasn’t it attacked me yet - it definitely had a chance to before. Was it waiting for a signal? An ambush? Ceira wasn't formally trained in the arts of combat and was unsure if she could hold her own against the large tiger if it came to that. If worst came to worst, she could probably just outrun it. It's better than staying around trying not to become chopped liver.

The embarrassment from not noticing the danger before still clouded in her mind, which is what she blamed for her snappy reaction. “Well, what are you waiting for? I know its a nice view from up here,” she waved her hands around, emphasising the cityscape below, “but there’s no need for you to be creeping up on me. Seriously, there’s a whole mountain for you to trot around in.” She glared at the tiger as sarcasm laced her voice, all the while the thought of shifting was toying around her mind.

Yumi wasn't that surprised the older woman didn't see her right away, she made sure to be careful as she trekked alond the mountain side, which in turn kept her very quiet. She was happy that she was able to be quiet in this region, now she just had to watch out for twigs... But that was neither here nor there, the older woman had spotted her. She was a little surprised she didn't run away completely, only darted a couple of paces away. Normaly people would run and just keep running until they fell on there face or something. If it wasn't for the clothes in her mouth she would have grinned from the memory of the slaver's apprentice running of and tripping over his own two feet. Those weren't the best of times but little moments like that helped her get through a lot.

"Kelvic?" The word snapped her out of her thoughts. Could this person tell she was a Kelvic? She didn't look any different from a normal tiger, aside from the lack of fur on her left hind leg thanks to the scar, but that shouldn't make her stand out that much. Maybe the woman noticed the clothes in her mouth while she was spacing out. Or maybe she just figured it out because she wasn't really doing anything and just standing here. What would this person do if she stayed as she was, would she just walk away and continue doing whatever she was up here to do? Or would she walk closer to her in an attempt to figure her out? The ladder seemed pretty stupid as there was still a high chance she was a wild animal, just well trained. She blinked herself back to reality, she really needed to stop letting her mind wander when she was around people she didn't know... That was dangerous in either form.

Now Yumi could tell the other woman was getting irritated by her lack of action. She was trying to figure out what to do, she didn't want to do anything to alarm this person, but she didn't want to annoy her either. Wait, this was a mountain? She looked off to the side and saw that this was attatch to a small mountain that she thought was a few feet away from them. She should really learn to be more observant-oh wait, she's getting distracted again! Geez, what was wrong with her today? It was like she couldn't keep her focus at all; maybe she hit her head when she fell or something...

She put her clothes down and changed into her human form; touching the top of her head her face shifted into one of annoyance when she felt a lump, then winced when she put pressure on it. Well, at least it wasn't that bad, she knew it would heal. But she needed to focus for her training later; she looked at the mountain and thought that maybe if she climbed higher up she would be able to find a spot or something... wait... was she forgetting something? She didn't think she was, but it felt like it. Oh yeah, the older woman. She made an annoyed sound realizing she changed in front of someone. "Okay, maybe I shouldn't train until I can focus on more than one thing..." She thought. Yep, that sounded like a good idea. Now on to more important matters, the person who just saw a tiger change into a human.

She turned around and looked at her, "Um... hi."

15th Day of Summer, 513 AV

Ceira had only now just noticed the clothes that the Tiger had held in its mouth, too distracted by the possibility of danger from elsewhere. She had her ears listening to anything out of the ordinary, anything that could be a precursor to any other danger that may introduce itself. All she heard was a slight whistling of the wind and some chirps from birds - which had suddenly quieted down with the appearance of the tiger. This habit that she had built up over her short life is something that had saved her many a time, often allowing her to either escape, or be given enough warning to actively defend herself. So, when a sudden tiger just shows up out of the blue, she instantly started to become wary and plot out escape routes.

It was when the tiger shifted into a dark-haired and tanned girl, that Ceira’s suspicions were confirmed. The change itself was mesmerizing, white pinpoints of light dissolved around her frame and the bright mass grew taller, gaining colour as it eventually formed into the girl. Ceira, like all Kelvics, didn’t have a problem with the nudity that they all have to deal with when they transform; it was just apart of their life. Sure, Ceira’s human dad had to get used to the sudden appearance of a nude girl running around the house, but he dealt with the surprise and it got easier for him with her mum and sister helping... Well, if you would call scaring people helping, then yes, they were helping him. Well. At least now he wouldn't have a heart attack when a sudden animal or girl bursts through a door. She absentmindedly smiled at the thought.

The stranger didn’t say anything for a while, instead, choosing to check out what seemed to look like bruises and a nasty lump on her head. Well, thats got to hurt. Ceira's own little scrape on her leg throbbed in remembrance, it wasn't too bad, just a couple drops of blood, nothing serious like what the girl looks to have gone through. Ceira actually started to feel a little sympathetic to the girl, she did seem to have had a rough time. It seems like i'm not the only one who's had trouble with the rocks - they move I tell you! But she then narrowed her eyes when the newcomer still hadn’t said anything. Wow, she must win the award for daydreaming.

“Um... hi.” And the kitty speaks. Ceira smirked, her eyes never leaving the woman... girl? She didn’t look older than 20, But this is a Kelvic we’re talking about. She may only be 2 or 3 years of age for all I know. She squinted her eyes, judging silently. Hmph. She looks like a child. She doesn’t seem harmful... Even so, Ceira didn’t move from her spot, she had learnt the hard way that things aren’t always what they seem to be on the surface. Ceira double checked around her, one last time, quickly surveying the mountainside for any signs of activity, before answering the girl. “Hi.” Her voice came out sharper than intended, but she didn’t care, it was better than looking weak. She placed her hands of the hips, trying, and quite possibly failing, to look intimidating. Well, considering the girl is on a ledge above me, I don’t think I’m doing too bad.

“Well, you didn’t answer my question. Why are you here?” Ceira realised she was being snappy, but that was just her - blunt. She couldn't help that she's very straightforward, she just was. Unfortunately, she had also attracted a lot of trouble and unwanted attention with this attitude, but she's never changed because of it. Something I ought to do before I really get into trouble.

"Is she scolding me?" The thought hadn't entered Yumi's mind that the woman was trying to be intimidating, her voice was sharp when she spoke and when she put her hand on her hip she looked more like she was giving her a look of disappoval than anything she would consider hostile. But then again she could be thinking that because of the way she lived for nearly 3 years, so it might have simply be the fact that her look couldn't compare to the ones slavers would give her when she was spotted. Whatever the case may have been this person wasn't to happy about her towering over them in the form of a deadly predetor so the least she could do was answer her question.

Picking up the bundle of clothes, she spoke, "Well, I came up here to train." She unrapped the clothing from over the book and showed it to her, "I wanted to practice and I figured this would be the best place; but it wasn't very safe from the way I came from so I was going to climb down and find somewhere else to train." Pausing to rap the book back into her clothes she continued, "I didn't notice that this hill was connected to the rest of the mountain over there because I keep getting distracted. I blame this lump I got earlier from after I fell," She winced when she touched it as if to show what she meant, "it's not that bad though, I've had worse injuries than this; it's just keeping me from focusing to much but I'll be fine later." She turned back to the path that lead to higher ground, "I'll just go on my way, I've wasted enough daylight already. Sorry for disturbing you."

Before she walked away she thought for a second that Kujy must have been rubbing off on her. Normally she would just run off without appoligizing; sure it was kind of rude but it kept her out of serious trouble most of the time. Espiecally in Ravok where the appoligeze of a "sub-human" meant basicly nothing if you weren't a registered citizen.

She sighed softly, trying to push back unwanted memories as she walked towards the other part of the mountain. She didn't need to remember them, not now; Zeltiva was a new start and Ravok was in the past. That's all that was important for now.

15th Day of Summer, 513 AV

As the tiger-girl rambled off her explanation, Ceira narrowed her eyes, judging the sincerity of her words. She deemed them to be true when the girl produced a normal looking book. She took a deep breath in, calming herself down. She knew she had jumped the gun too quickly, she blamed it on her past, the habit of caution she had honed over the past year was not one to be quickly wiped away.

Ceira sighed, placing a hand to her head as she rubbed her eyes in frustration. Sure, she was kicking herself on the inside - she should be, the tiger girl didn't mean any harm. She was just... odd. I was too harsh, wasn't I? She let out a low growl, mostly at herself, but also somewhat to the situation she now found herself in. She knew she should apologise, but that wasn't something she like doing. Ever. She sighed again, thinking.

"Wait."

Why am I doing this? My pride is worth more than this new tiger girl. Ceira took a couple of steps forward, still unsure if she should even try. Still, she heard the sorrow in the other girl's voice, she couldn't help but do something about it. Hey, call her crazy, but she did have a soft side. "I'm sorry... for the way I reacted. Or overreacted. Or... Nevermind. Just... Sorry."

There. That wasn't too hard - was it? Ceira crossed her arms, a habit that she succumbed to whenever she felt uncomfortable or nervous. "Um... I came here to train as well... I know we got off on the wrong foot, but if you want to... um." She stumbled over her words, she wasn't that much of a socialite, any conversations she had were often arguments or just awkward in general. She usually just kept her mouth shut to avoid both, but for some odd reason, she felt compelled to be nice to the tiger, seeing as it was partly her fault for making her sad. I really was too mean to her.

Ceira frowned at the thought, steeling herself again. "Well, point is, did you want to train or not?" She snapped, once more becoming the blunt person she was, "You're going to need a partner to try those moves out on anyway." She motioned to the book the girl had in the clothes, "Its not as if you can ask a rock to punch you in the face. Although, looking at that nasty lump on your head, they already have." She smirked, finding it slightly easier to talk when she was joking around.

Yumi tured as the person called out to her and watched her stumble over her words for a bit. She looked at the girl curiously when she offered that they could train together. The older woman reminded her of someone... an old friend she had that left Ravok before her. She was kind of snippy as well, if memory serves; that made her a bit curious about the woman in front of her. Now that she thought about it, this person didn't even say anything about her being naked. Maybe girls didn't mind it so much here? Dang it, going off topic again. "I really hope that will wear off soon..."

Thinking back to what the person said, she thought back to when she read the book back at the cottage and saw there were a few things in there involving unarmed combat training that could be paired with acrobatics. Maybe if the two of them sparred together first she'd have an idea on where to start from! And then she could know a bit more about where to start from later when she and Kujy started training! Espiecally if this person knew about unarmed combat and acrobatics... and maybe she could read some parts in this book that she couldn't...

After a few minutes of thinking she spoke, grinning as she found it a little hard to contain her excitement about her newly thought up plan but managed to hold it back in her voice, "That sounds great." She looked back at the mountain then back at her, "Would you mind if I changed into my animal form? It'll be easier to travel up there for me, it's a bit hard to walk around in my human form." her grin became a but nervous and a little shy, "I'm sure you know what I mean with that cut on your leg." She laughed nervously as she looked at her, she had a bit of a habit of not looking at people directly enough to know what they looked like by description, but enough to tell them apart from a crowd. She had been trying to break that habbit as well and noticed that her hair wasn't orange but auburn and wavey, it was longer than her own as well and her roots and bangs were a darker color. And her eyes stood out from her cream colored face, they were a darker brown than her own, almost black with bits of gold flowing through it.

She felt a bit awkward looking at someone in detail, it was weird knowing someone's physical detail that much... a good weird. She's been feeling that way a lot since she got here to Zeltiva.

When the girl turned and actually agreed to the idea, Ceira was a little taken aback. She didn't expect to be taken up on her offer, which lead to her just standing there in a confused stupor for a moment or two. Well, ok. I know a little unarmed combat, maybe I can pull this off. Then again, maybe I couldn't... She paused her mindful ramblings and sized up the girl. She was shorter than Ceira, but that didn't mean it was an advantage. Her hair was kept relatively short around the shoulders and her eyes were feline. Even if I didn't see her shift, I would've picked her as a Kelvic. Those eyes aren't human. Indeed they were not, reddish brown with slits only found on animals.

"That sounds great" The other girl said, very excited indeed. "Would you mind if I changed into my animal form? It'll be easier to travel there for me, it's a bit hard to walk around in my human form." Well, I guess I have to agree with you there, Ceira thought, looking down at her leg when the girl pointed it out again. Whilst assessing the girl once more, she noted a prominent scar on the girl's ankle. Well, maybe she's seen combat before... She stored the information at the back of her mind, her curiosity now piqued.

"Well, if you think that climbing is the easier in animal form, then I may just join you then. Ceira smiled, wondering if the girl even knew that she was a Kelvic. She wasn't one for showing every person that came by her abilities, but since the other girl was a Kelvic as well, she didn't think that it would be a big deal. She unclasped her cloak, letting the brown material drop before fumbling with the buckle of her dagger. She then got to work on the laces on her shirt, which, lets face it, gave her a bit of trouble. Damn laces and their confusing... She finally undid them and slid out of her pants, shirt and undergarments, throwing them ungratefully on the ground, kicking them to the side as she did so. "Never did like clothes anyway..." She muttered under her breath.

Ceira turned, addressing the girl. "So. Whats your name? I can't just keep calling you tiger-girl, now can I?" She allowed her signature smirk to be shown, before she bent down, gathering her clothes in a ball. She straightened up, the clothes now held in her arms, the dagger placed neatly on top. As she walked towards the girl, she could sense the nervousness in the air, so she decided to ease the tension. "And before you ask, I'm Ceira Everwood." She raised one of he hands in a mock salute, shifting the clothes to the other hand as she flicked two fingers unceremoniously.
Due to some major events, in the next couple of weeks I will be very busy and any posts that I am able to do at this time will be very slow. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, i'll try to get back to full speed again soon! :)
