"A torn soul, a broken mind
A groping hand that hopes to find... "
As with all Akalak, Kashan has two souls. Two competing personalities vying for victory over the other. Kashan was not born this way, however. The dark brother was not present when he was born. He was filled with light and joy and he was the apple of his father's eye. Such things cannot last, however, although, for Kashan, the darkness was late in coming. It crept up on him under the cover of darkness infecting his very being slowly.
For many years these brothers fought. Kashan's father favoured light, imbuing his son with the duty, discipline and stoic nature of his race. He taught his son of Wysar and how to use a Lakan. Kashan's mother favoured the darkness. She was the terror in the night, the slow and steady creep of death. She had a far greater will and personality which soon overcame.
Kashan's mind is troubled, always teetering on the edge, trying to evade destruction on a daily basis.
Kashan's goal is to escape this turmoil. Do you care to join him on this quest, wherever it may lead him?
Kashan was born somewhere in Cyphrus to an Akalak man and Dhani woman. His father soon discovered the sinister nature of this woman, in particular her admiration and love of the Zith race, and being ashamed by the union and scared for the fate of his child due to his mother took Kashan back to Riverfall where he swore to raise his son as a true Akalak warrior in order to make up for his own weakness.
As Kashan grew up, his mother would come and visit him in secret. Being a master of sneak and subtlety, she had no problem gaining access to him. She filled his mind with dark thoughts, showing him the pain and suffering in the world. She showed him how to embrace it, for darkness is the only constant, the only truth. These secret meetings took place at a very significant part of the young Akalak's life. For as they sat for hours in the Sea of Grass talking, the dark brother began to emerge and the wise Dhani could sense this and encouraged it. Slowly and skillfully she beckoned the darkness forward until it engulfed him.
At some stage after his Rite of Trial Kashan left the safety of Riverfall secretly. His mother took him by the hand and led him from the city, promising him promises she had no intention of keeping. They crossed the Sea of Grass until they arrived at the Zith city of Xy. This is where he spent the next few years of his life while his mother tried to eradicate the light from his soul. However, the light brother would die without a fight and Kashan began to lose of control of his mind.
It is unknown when Kashan managed to escape his mother's deadly grasp, all the we know is that he did. He traveled, lost amidst the Grass. Frantically, he searched for something, though he knew not what.
