Appearance: Lux Moonsong isn't really a stand out among her race. Considering her features, she could pass for a human, or other similar races. Her hair is the color of the plains in Fall- brown waves, summer sun bringing out beautiful blonde streaks. She keeps in in a single side braid, made up of other braids, with a black ribbon weaved through it, never taking the time to learn the most complex hair weavings of her people. When let loose, it falls to her hips. Her eyes are probably her most striking feature. Bright violet, almond-shaped eyes, like gemstones looking down on you. She has a few freckles and a crooked nose, much to her annoyance. Another physical trait is her pale ivory skin, that manages to get sunburned every single summer! On her back is a elaborate tattoo, resembling a sunrise, that she gained at 10 years old. Lux has a remarkably flat chest, only a small b cup at most, and her body is probably more of a pear shape due to her wide hips. Even though she hates it, it is a blessing in disguise, as her body type makes her better at riding striders then her female peers. Her limbs are long and slim, toned from many years of riding her strider. Her hands and feet are both bigger then average, and her stomach is annoyingly pudgy. Lastly, Lux wears clothing similar to her race. Bright purple and blue patterns line her body. They are mostly loose and the edges are neatly stitched with yellow thread.

Character Concept

Lux is quite a unusual Drykas. She trusts her friendship in few, and is mostly introverted. She seems very reserved at first, but true to her Drykas roots she tends to argue well and seems to be very passionate about where she stands. She is content being a follower, but if needed she will take control of a group, and is quite adept at it. However, she usually won't stay with others and seems to not have much of an attachment to others, though enjoys the company of friends. Her horse, a simple bay named Zaki is deeply bonded with Lux, and they are the bestest of friends. She braids Zaki's mane every day, sings to him, and sleeps next to him at night.

Lux hopes to leave Endrykas someday- maybe when she meets someone she can trust, possibly even love. But she doesn't have the courage to leave by herself, and instead resides in her family's pavilion for the time being.

Character History

Lux Moonsong was born to a family in the Opal Clan, her father a Drykas, and mother a human. She was raised happily, and even learned basic Nari language from an old Inarta woman that lived in her clan. She learned short bow skills and horsemanship, along with her brother from her father. At 10 years old, Lux earned her windmarks, bonding with a stallion she named Zaki. Her brother earned his horse a couple years later, naming the mare Sula. He died at seventeen, a festering wound from a battle that even the best healers could not fix. This devastated Lux, and, in a way, also made her grow up.

Note on Yvas:
The Drykas use what is called a Yvas on their horses rather than bridles and saddles. A yvas is what equates to a girth with an attached breast collar combination hung with hooks and topped with a small flat hand grip that lays along a horse's shoulders. The Yvas is often placed over a colorful pad that acts to protect the horse from the rider. The grip fits over a strider's withers which holds the yvas in place. It almost looks like the type of thing vaulters used on their draft horses, though it is more functional than a vaulter's pad. The horses can free themselves from them if they got separated from their riders, and do not have tack to entrap or tangle them when they are running loose. The yvas has ring tethers on it for handling a set of wither bags and a waterskin, and is often decorated in knot-work beading that identified the horse and rider as part of a specific pavilion.

Drykas ride without any headgear or bridles on their horses at all. They do not use any halters either.
