Rowan Morealis Appearance Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 25 Birthday: 12 Winter, 488 AV Birthplace: Kenash Physical Details: Rowan, like most of the Morealis line, was born with a slightly darker shade of skin and raven-black hair. Unlike his elder brother, Rowan never broadened out more as he grew taller. Even today he would not be considered intimidating by any means. Rather, he holds himself as a more persuasive and charming persona, easy to smile and easier to laugh. He keeps his appearance groomed for business and often enjoys wearing clothes of his station. He carries himself like the aristocracy. Rowan has somewhat bronzed skin like his elder brother, but is a bit lighter in the same vein. Rumors that abound of his heritage not being of a pure nature have been quickly quashed. Character Concept The Morealis are well known for their charming personalities and calm, collected communication. Rowan is no exception to this rule. Although he can sometimes act erratically around women and fine drink, when his personality can take a decidedly carefree turn, Rowan is usually a sarcastically taciturn man. His work requires care and concentration, often hundreds of mizas depending entirely upon a single strike or focus. To that note he finds great worth in the smallest of things...words, motions, things unsaid. One could consider him to have a rather dry sense of humor that sometimes dips into the childish. When around other Dynasty members he is unfamiliar with, Rowan caters to the image the Morealis set for him. But to those he knows better, he presents himself as a somewhat sly and cynic creature with a passion for long legs and pretty faces. Although sometimes a disappointment to his family, especially with the amount of women he holds in scandals, little can be said against his dedication to the Morealis name. If anything, he only has vexation for his older brother, Dimitri. Constantly trying to usurp the older brother's position, Rowan plots and toils beneath his father, Dimeer's watchful gaze. There is a lot in Rowan that wants to impress his father, but he has yet to truly make the old man proud in his eyes. Character History Rowan was born the last male of his line, son of Dimeer Morealis. While his elder brother, Dimitri, received most of the grooming for leadership, Rowan was already subjected to grueling physical challenges. His father never fully explained why he would want his son trained in unarmed and other forms of combat, he was simply there, silently disapproving. When Rowan was fourteen, his father had a Projectionist master initiate his son into the art of Projection. At the time, the father insisted it would be good for Rowan’s studies, to lengthen his understanding of the spirit, and the self. It really only left him bedridden for weeks. At fifteen, Rowan was temporarily possessed by the spirit of an angry slave. While possessed, he attacked and badly injured two of his family members before the ghost was finally thrown from his system. Afterwards, Rowan has always had a fascination and fear of Spirits, lightly training his ability in order to understand the things better. However, when he was choosing a business, his father suggested he take up the art of Magecrafting, honing his skill giving minor enchanted items to the other Dynasties while preparing himself to truly give something majestic to his family...always to help the Morealis name. Even today, Dimeer Morealis insists Rowan continue his rigorous physical training. Dimeer watches his progress, notes it, and changes the routine as necessary to keep it challenging to the young man. Rowan has long since given up the idea that he is being prepared for a greater position in the family and sometimes wonders if perhaps his father simply enjoys torturing. Rowan is not the closest with his older brother. Dimitri, as the second born, has taken the Morealis house in directions Rowan wanted to pioneer himself. He's worried the head of house will pass to Dimitri's children and likewise his chance to bask in the limelight of the Kenash elite. While he went so far as to name his monkey Dimitri, any other plans to ruin his brother have not yet come to light. Rowan’s early life has been filled with whirlwind romances, messy breakups, adventures, and consequences. He fell in with Jack Draer, a terrible influence and continues to be a strange interruption in the otherwise smooth solemnity of his family. His room is on one of the upper levels, affording a view of the sprawling sugarcane fields. In his room there is a large bed, a chest of drawers for his clothes, and a closet where he hangs his particularly fetching evening wear. Above his bed, a scimitar is mounted. A Morealis acquired it from a merchant who had once traveled the deserts of Ekytol. Noting its strange design and taking a liking to it, he took it as his own. Derrick Morealis, as he was called, used the scimitar to take the head of a Rujaro attack on the Morealis estate two generations before Rowan was born. His father felt that leaving it above his bed might give the boy some sense of bravery and discipline. While his room is not decked in splendor, Rowan is afforded all the amenities a good lifestyle would provide. However, his family expects him to pay for his stay in the home, a rule that was established by his father and maintained by his brother. Rowan wouldn’t mind it so much…if he wasn’t placed next to Dimitri’s room, within enough distance to hear his brother cavorting...
