One moment, the three of them had been calmly talking behind the crates, and in the next the sailors were upon them. Era sadly thought on how much harder it was to hide in a city. There were more people, sure, and more space, but that didn't seem to matter. That just meant someone was always watching, that every corner was filled with something, depleting the number of places you could disappear into. Apparently 'behind crates' wasn't a horribly original hiding place, and as such the sailors found them there almost as soon as they had started looking.

Once again Era froze at the intrusion of other voices into their conversation, although the sailors' yelling disturbed her more than Marv's conversational tone and she startled. Ulric fell backwards, and only Marv was left unruffled by the intrusion. Although the sailors must have said something wrong, because a brief angry look passed over his face before he calmly exited the crate hideout to confront them.

Era followed him out, lingering just outside of the crates, behind him. There was safety in numbers, and besides, then if the sailors got really really angry again she could pull Marv away too and maybe find a better hiding spot. This time though, the sailors weren't the only angry ones, Marv was too. His tone was deliberate and it was clearly meant to be intimidating. She didn't quite understand what he had against the guard, but it must be part of the coup thing. She really needed to learn more about that, the longer she was in this city the more it seemed important.

Marv ended with an impassioned defense of Ulric and Era decided she could jump in too. There really was safety in numbers, and perhaps together they could convince the sailors they were wrong? Then they wouldn't need to be angry, and Marv wouldn't need to be angry, and everyone could walk away happy. Still standing behind Marv, taking comfort in him being between her and the sailors, Era leaned around him to add in a firm voice, "He didn't do anything wrong, so there's no reason to be yelling at him. " Then she finished in a slightly admonishing tone,"Be friendly."

Ulric stood up quickly looking at the scene that had scared him, maybe he had over reacted because the sailor was harassing him instead of his other two companions, he said he would call the guards, those humans that used to grab other humans or creatures in the city, they were many, and you couldn't stand up to them even if they were just having fun by doing "bad things", Ulric never really looks for truble, and in his human form he blends well on the docks of Zeltiva so he had not ever encountered a guard that paid any sort of attention to him.

Marv stood up impotently in front of the big sailor; Ulric stood up after the two and walked to Marvs side to accompany on his confrontation. His voice tone sounded a little upset when the sailor talked about the guards explaining his reasons, Ulric was barely conscious about what he was talking about since he had been in Zeltiva for about three months now not being really social, he had heard some sailors talking about the guards but never for it interesting.

The big sailor was obviously not from Zeltiva, perhaps he was just passing trough on one of the ships and knew nothing about what was going on around, he had messed with something delicate making him doubt about his guards idea. "A gift?! He was sitting on our chest filled with fish and he was eating fish!" the sailor wanted to keep arguing about it not having clearing up his mind, but his attention was dragged away when the other sailor grabbed his shoulder and said. "Hey let's let it go, it's just a fish, and I think it's not ours anyway." He said calmly as he had understood the situation. The big sailor looked at him annoyed. "You are on their side now?!" The sailor looked at the big one for a few seconds before turning around drastically pointing out at some sailor on the distance. "Look at that! The rookie is tying up the crates on the wrong side of the ship!" Instantly the big sailor turned around completely ignoring the three indibiduals who he was arguing with. "OY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" He yelled practically at no one running away, maybe on purpose after realizing his mistake.
"I'm sorry, we got carried away, specially him, he's really explosive. We won’t bother you anymore, if It was just a gift I'll have to believe it, I found it strange for you to have a fish when the chest was sealed up." The sailor said looking at Ulric who just nodded. After this the sailor walked away leaving the three of them alone, the people who were looking at them because of the disturbances lost interest and kept doing their job. "Thank you." Ulric Said to his companions.

Marv's breathing slowed, his body expecting a fight to break out between him and the sailors when Era popped out from behind him. It would have startled him, had he not been so angry. Her voice, which was kind and small, brought him back to reality and he started taking in large amounts of air to try and calm himself further. Then the young man joined Marv's side, though he didn't say anything. The two of them trying to confront the two sailors along side him comforted him.

The bigger sailor decided to try and keep arguing further when the smaller one, the one Marv didn't really pay attention to, brought his hand upon his friend's shoulder. The move confused Marv, who was expecting an attack. The smaller sailor then talked about how they should just leave them alone and let it be as it is. Marv smirked at the sailor's persuasive ways. The bigger sailor, having his eye caught by some other unlucky individual, turned and went away hollering and yelling at the invisible disturbance. The smaller sailor, however, stayed behind and explained everything to them, apologized, and went his way. Marv nodded his head, silently thanking the man.

The young man turned towards Marv and Era and thanked them. The move caused Marv to smile. He put his hand up in protest, "
Please, you don't need to thank me! It's all part of the job, really." Marv rubbed the back of his neck and his jawline again, only to end up tugging on the collar of his undershirt. Marv went to back up, but then stopped himself. He straighten his demeanor into more business like and put on an expression he knew too well. One that he uses when he wants to propose an idea.

"
If you ever want to leave the city, for whatever reason, in the next couple of days, and you decide to go by land, come find me. I'm usually by east street or by the old quarter. East street is just up the road and to the right, the old quarter is just past the intersection of east and west street." Marv explained to them, waiting for their response so he knew if he'd have a job in the next couple of days.

And just like that the situation was resolved. Era had been sure there was going to be more yelling, and maybe even some fighting if the sailors got too angry. Yet the second sailor had easily deflected the larger sailor's anger towards other things before apologizing and walking away. She smiled happily, she had hoped it could be resolved with calm conversation and it had. There hadn't been any fighting and everyone had walked away happy in the end.

Ulric seemed glad too, and he thanked both her and Marv for the help. Well, mostly Marv, who had stood up and went all intimidating on the sailors. Truthfully, Era was a little in awe of that. She wished she could sound that intimidating, even if she knew she couldn't. Using that tone, Marv had been able to get the sailors to leave them alone, and that was amazing. He casually brushed off the thanks, but Era thought that was silly. He deserved it.

Marv made as if to leave, but then he clearly thought of something else he wanted to say, because his demeanor changed before his next words. In a businesslike tone he delivered an offer for help traveling outside the city, along with some basic city directions which she promptly forgot. There was no need for her to leave the city when she had just got here. Going to voice as much aloud, she responded, "I don't need to leave the city yet, I just got here." Then she thought for a moment, before adding, "Well, technically I want to leave the city to go explore the forests but that's different. They're still kinda part of the city too. " She thought a little longingly of shifting and being able to wander without all of these people around. But there would be time for that later. Once again she paused for thought, then smiled brightly before adding, "But I could stop by sometime to say hello."
