Character Concept

Once a number in a lottery, now ascended into someone with the ability to make a difference. How many years has it been since he had been blessed? Eventhough he forgot many things of his mortal life, the event where he was chosen; Where he evolved, was still clear as day to him.

Regardless of that, this section will be about his current being. Which is an intricate and delicate subject. For he can be considered a demon by some, and a sage by others. It was of little concern to him either way, the way people thought of him would always be dependent on far too many subjective variables. It was not the opinion of the mass that he wanted to please, it was his insatiable thirst to use the blessed ‘life’ he received for a cause that would truly leave an impact on the world. All his life he cursed his talentless self but now that he had been gifted ‘Time’ itself, he was free to use the endless pool of bells passing to become so proficient in the arcane arts that true immortality will one day be his. Immortality by legacy!

Over the years of having been a ‘higher being’, his way of behaving and interpreting matters, evolved drasticly. As once he was a depressed and melancholic man, now he was enlighted if you will. Or at least he tried to be, by objectively looking at things and seeing things in ‘the bigger picture’. That is one of the reasons why he got so attracted to the arcane arts, the bigger picture, and Malediction in particular. While most would see it as a diabolic and crude magic, it is actually anything but. One pays homage to someone’s legacy by using his very being even after death, there is no greater compliment in Dmitri’s eyes. Not to mention it doesn’t necessarily involve hurting the ‘subject’, nor is it as destructive as many other magicbranches. Malediction is not the sole magic he delves deeper into, eventually he wants to be renowned as a master of the arcane, in due time…

Character History

As said, he was once a man. A random good-for-nothing mortal resident of Mizahar, until He came along. At first Dmitri thought he meant harm, but that was not the case at all. Even now Dmitri has yet to unravel the mystery why the mysterious Nuit chose him to be one of his. But once he found out what exactly happened to him, he basked and reveled in it. But, back to the actual moment of truth, he somehow found himself on a crude flatplated altar, coated in a white marble layer; Without an idea how he got there, he could only attempt to break free of the chains keeping him in place, fearful and anxious about what was going on.

Now that he thinks back , he felt so silly. But it was only normal to feel that way at the time. Struggling and shouting, to no avail, chained to the altar as if he was a goat brought there to slaughter and offer to the Deities. Tears started streaming down his face when he saw a hooded man silently shuffle towards him, wearing a strange darkgreen robe, thicker than cloth yet flowing as if it wasn’t the apparent green leather that it was. The shoulderpads were ornamented with plentiful spikes.

As if this entire scene wasn’t crazy and mindwrecking enough, once the man slid his hands aparts from eachother and revealed the large silver stiletto, Dmitri remembers he started screaming bloody murder for someone to save him. Which only increased in volume once he revealed his face, it wasn’t as much the silvery facepaintings and tribal piercings that caused him as much terror than the rotten patches of strained and shilfered skin that was near see-through. The muscle and tissue around his mouth was so deteriorated that it showed the rows of yellowrotten teeth in its entirety as he opened his mouth to speak.

“Be at ease, the end is near.”

How could anyone be at ease when someone says that to you while armed and looking like a demented ghoul. As he looked in his eyes, mouth already open to scream his lungs out, he somehow felt like he was being cradled and ushered into his comfortzone. As little as he understood it, he felt at ease. As if there was no reason not to trust this person.

Before he could focus his hazy eyes back on the person, he was suddenly standing next to him. His disgusting features as visible as can be, with arms spread and raised high, holding the weapon in his lefthand. As he stood there, eyes piercing Dmitri’s, he was unable to break away from his gaze. Mesmerized completely, he didn’t even notice the large man slowly approaching him from behind, A large hulking yet not intimidating man in the same ornamented robe. As he stood on the other side of Dmitri, he looked down upon the sorrowful yet enthralled man.

“Be at ease, the end is near.”

Repeating the exact same words as the other man spoke before, but this man was far different than the one holding the weapon. There was something about him, something that made you feel so small, like an ant looking in awe at the elephant. He leaned in, as if to kiss Dmitri, when he opened his mouth a fraction of a second before Dmitri felt the cold sting pierce his skin and then a siphoning sensation as he felt his lifeblood stream out of his pierced heart. But at the same time he could feel the warmth of the silvery ichor stream into his open, gasping mouth.

It reminded him of the bodily warmth of a woman’s body laying with him. But that thought quickly escaped him as he started to lose consciousness. He figured the pain and feeling of death creeping up on him was causing him to endure delirious thoughts and visual fragments that made no sense to him nor ever occurred to him before. Soon after, he woke up…
Now he realizes, what they meant by “The end is near”… The end to his pathetic mortal life was near, and the beginning to something more glorious than he could ever have imagined, began.
