Nowhere to Run (Banir)

Postby Alea Davenport on April 18th, 2013, 12:07 am

Alea had been pacing back and forth for a few chimes, wondering how long Banir was going to be, and imagining every possible terrible outcome that could possibly occur in her absence, only some of them winding up with Banir on the losing end. Then, finally she heard him calling her name. She darted toward the sound of his voice.

She did not call back to him, and when she saw him, she did not speak. She seemed to have forgotten that she could. She found herself slipping back into patterns from long ago, just after the storm that shook Mizahar, when she had lost her ability to speak, and (despite being rather quite abandoned by Yuros) felt strangely closer to her bondmate than ever.

It was such a bizarre feeling, when Banir came into sight with the wolf. Both were utterly blood-soaked. The corpse was a mess, its face so destroyed that Alea could not even find its head. Her mind split in two at the sight. One fragment of her could only feel that it was right and good that a predator, one who was dangerous to her and her friends, was removed from the forest.

But the other... the other felt as Alea had felt when she ran from the scene. Banir, her friend, was capable, not just of this gory destruction, but was actually capable of ending a life. And a life had been ended this very day. A life, that might have continued, had Alea not chosen to drag Banir into the woods. Alea had spent some time among the Frostfawns of Avanthal, and she valued the lives of animals at least as much as those of sentient races, if not more. It was... beyond unsettling to see the corpse of a creature that, moments ago, had been alive. A creature that she'd had time to worry about.

The death of the wolf might have hit her harder if it had not been for that other part of her, the stag-like part. This part of her rose to the surface, her real self unable to know how to cope with the reality of the death she was witnessing. Her eyes darted around, much like those of a doe, remaining ever alert against the physical threats of the forest, without having to worrying about threats of a more subtle nature. She acknowledged Banir with a tick of eye-contact, but beyond that, she merely waited for him to make the next move.

Nowhere to Run (Banir)

Postby Banir Ironwood on April 19th, 2013, 5:52 am

Banir looked at Alea and tilted his head, she was acting strange. Was something bothering her? Was it something he had done? He didn't see anything wrong with himself, sure he was messy. His arm was covered in blood and he was a little unsightly at the moment. But surely it wasn't that terrible was it? He tried to shake off some of the more wet blood but it did little to help. Banir still hadn't noticed his scarf was missing, his scared and blood stained face on display. He gave a light and awkward cough. The pain in his throat was quick to swell up, he had though, been shouting only moments before. And loudly at that, he had to pay his price, and while he didn't much enjoy it he found the results where worth it. After all Alea was here before him. Taking another long moment he prepared himself to speak. His voice graveled and rough as he tried to speak again. "Uh, ah, Alea are you, alright?" He gave a small grunt of pain before continuing on. "Ah you seem to, be a little, different. You're not hurt, are you?"

He expressed his concern holding his hands behind his back, hoping the blood stained armour would remain out of sight. His face however remained in sight, stained in blood and worse. Still twisted by his scars, mostly full to her view. His left eye was pulled slightly making him unable to fully close it, the healer he had seen that it was able to close. Though the scar remained brutal on his face, it was at least better. The corner of his mouth had also been pulled making it difficult to speak. His healer had also solved this problem, but the scar was still strong. Not as deep but still enough to turn his face more gruesome than handsome. His lips have been healed the skin smoothed healed a rosy color returned to them. Though it was clear where he had his scar, the dip in his lips ever present. His scars no longer held entrenched on his face, but they where still deep and caused his face some pain. He only noticed his exposed face when a breeze touched his cheek.

He froze in mild anger and fear, his heart quickly racing as he felt his emotions swell. Old memories touching his mind though he felt his emotions less than usual. No overwhelming rage, perhaps it had been because another had seen it? He honestly didn't know and didn't care he managed to hold range over his emotions. Though the hands behind his back where clenched in the stress of his emotions. His breathing quickened but he managed to remain steady enough before her. As he looked down at Alea he kept his emotions in check, his blood still ran hot though. While he waited for her response he hoped she wouldn't look directly at him. Or say anything that might set off his temper. He'd hope for any other response, so long as she didn't trigger his emotions, his rage specifically.
"Where life leads me, is where I shall go. The greater question is, who is willing to accompany me on such a long travel?"

Nowhere to Run (Banir)

Postby Alea Davenport on April 20th, 2013, 11:03 pm

Any other time, Alea might have been shocked or intrigued by the scars, or even triumphant that she had finally seen what Banir had been hiding under his scarf all this time. But at this moment, all she could do was gaze indifferently at his face with the placidity of her kelvic bondmate flowing through their bond. She stared directly into his eyes for a good ten ticks, her own doe-like expression not betraying any emotion in particular.

She finally barely acknowledged his question, giving a slight shrug of her shoulders as she looked away. Physically, she was fine, which he could probably determine for himself as she turned and began walking calmly toward the Spires. Beyond that... she wasn't sure. All she knew was that she didn't want to talk about it, didn't want to think about it. Without being quite aware of it, she broke into a gentle run, letting her focused breathing distract her mind from any other thoughts.

OOCI think Alea might be done for this thread; her mind went to a weird place and it probably won't go away until she has a nap XD Wanna wrap this one up?

Nowhere to Run (Banir)

Postby Banir Ironwood on April 22nd, 2013, 7:56 pm

Banir looked at Alea examining what she did, she had no real expressions. She acted not like herself, he expected some shouting or doing her usual thing. But no, it was just blank. He had no idea what to call it, or what it might be. But even seeing his face didn't stir up anything. She didn't even speak to him she merely shrugged her shoulders and walked on by him. His eyes touched an orange, yellow of curiosity and concern. Was it something he had done or was it because the fight had scared her? The more he thought of it the more it made less sense. Only offering a sigh and a grunt he began to follow after her. It had been easy to keep his emotions under control. She had done absolutely nothing to provoke him. In fact it was like his scarf was still on. As it came to mind he moved to collect what he had left behind. Taking his scarf and securing it around his face again. His armour against the world once again fixed into place he gave it a light test. Tugging on his scarf, it barely moved and he knew it was good. Sighing again his eyes remained their orangely yellow colour as he glanced to Alea. Watching her take off into a light run he blinked once. He then moved quickly himself picking up the wolf corpse on the way. Sure it was mangled and plenty filthy but he should be able to pick up something for it in the Spires. He started to jog after Alea, taking even breaths as his heavy form clunking along.
