Another day another robbery (Raven Nightfoot)

Kyo smashed into the gut of the young male guard with a low hitting liver punch. Getting into a drunk looking stance made to resemble his boxing pose. Despite the boys embroidered breastplate, he found himself blown back at the strength of Kyo's blow. His pride hurt the young man charged forward recklessly aiming to hit kyo square in the jaw with a wide hook.

Kyo took the hit getting his head knocked back a bit in the exchange. Then lashing back around grabbing both of the boys arms. The boy had not expected Kyo to grab him so suddenly had been preparing himself to get slugged, not grabbed. He squirmed to make his way out of Kyo's grasp to little prevail. All the while the female guard snuck her way up to Kyo's flank hoping the drunk to preoccupied to notice her coming up behind with a sap drawn and ready. Kyo made note of her attempt and wrapped the boy in a large hug. Throwing his weight down onto the boy in an attempt to overwhelm him to the ground.

The boy managed to get his legs under him though and stood shackily against the bulk of Kyo's body. The girl readied herself to try and clock Kyo right in his noggin with the sap. But Kyo had other ideas.

He swiftly got his right leg under the boys leading left leg tripping him up so that he would lose balance and finally fall to the ground with Kyo. Now rolling around on the ground with the boy the girl stood somewhat hopelessly trying to figure a way to hit Kyo and not the guard he now wrestled with on the ground.

The old man placed his face in his palm shaking it with disappointment. "hurry up and knock the drunk out, he can't be that troublesome for 2 of you..." He said un amused while now leaning against the side of the doorway.

The girl looking flustered now swing down attempting to strike Kyo during the exchange. Her blow managed to hit him square in the back with a painful thud. To Kyo's luck it was only a sap and not the longsword at her side, else he would surely be gravely wounded by now. Though the guards seemed content to deal with Kyo in a non bloody way for now.

Kyo began to sing more of his drunk song while rolling around on the ground with the boy still easily in his grasp.

"He might have been an admiral, a sssultan, or a king
And to hisss praisssesss we shall alwaysss sssing
Look what he has done for usss, he'sss filled usss up with cheer
Lord blessssss Charlie Mopsss,
The man who invented beer!"

Laughing all the while as he continued to sing the verse with a drunken stupor. The boy managed to wiggle an arm free and knock Kyo in his jaw with an elbow, freeing him from Kyo's grasp momentarily. But Kyo swung himself into a crouch faster than the boy could, and jumped over top of him bashing his head into the gut of the boy and hoisting him into the air.

Kyo spun the boy around and allowed himself to fall along with the boy to the ground, smacking the boy painfully into the cobblestone beneath him. Where as Kyo protected himself using the boy as cushion. He still hit his own tailbone rather soundly, causing him to yelp with pain. The boy also gasping for breath as he had winded himself from the blow to his back hitting the ground.

The woman now seemed incredibly irritated, and swung madly her sap at Kyo's head. Kyo ducked his head to the side but she banged him on the shoulder instead. Continuing to try and madly beat him with the sap until she knocked him out. Kyo taking advantage of her wild painful blows, swept his leg up under her and tripped her backwards to the ground. Which she tumbled quite nicely smacking into a bush behind her which cushioned the blow of falling. But did not cushion the loss of pride she felt at the humiliating halt of her attack.

Kyo laughed heartily as she tumbled and fumbled around trying to stand back up. All the while the old man stood with a pipe now in hand and an unconcerned look on his face, drawing a long puff of his tobacco and letting it out with a resounding sigh.

"Hurry up you good for nothings..." He grumbled, again shaking his head at the uselessness of the rookie guards he had hired for their sword skill. That looked to never have fought anything beyond a training dummy...

Another day another robbery (Raven Nightfoot)

Once she had calmed herself down Raven returned to inspecting the upper floor for anything worth stealing. The other rooms on the upper floor were just another two bedrooms with nothing of value in them.

"I guess I'm gonna have to check downstairs." she said with a worried sigh, she had been lucky that there was no one awake upstairs, she may not have the same luck on the ground level, but she had to try.

Slowly and as quietly as she could, Raven snuck down the stairway. The wooden stairs moaned softly with her weight no matter how hard she tried not to cause a noise. Outside she could still here Kyo causing a ruckus which was, reassuring.

Once Raven reached the ground floor of the house she looked around carefully examining the room. It was a lavishly furnished entrance hall which lead to two corridors heading in opposite directions. She quietly crept down the left corridor to find a large kitchen and dining room which held nothing of great value so she returned to the entrance hall and took the right corridor this time.

The right corridor led to yet another bedroom and an office, Raven carefully sifted through each drawer in the large wooden desk but found only documents and a peculiar looking key which had four points jutting out of it, it looked as if it opened something valuable, but she hadn't seen anything that required a key in the house so she placed it carefully back where she'd found it. The young thief was now very frustrated, clearly Kyo's information had been wrong, this house may have been well furnished but it held no treasures.

Defeated, Raven decided to give the ground floor one last scan before heading upstairs and escaping the same way she had entered. She left the office pausing for a moment to examine a massive painting that reached from the ground to about a foot below the ceiling. It was a painting of what looked like some ancient ruins surrounded by a dry yellow landscape, Eyktol she assumed. Raven wondered how much the painting would be worth but quickly scrapped the thought, it was far too massive to sneak out.

Shrugging her shoulders she returned to the dining room and kitchen on the left side of the house and that was when she noticed something peculiar. The dining room and kitchen were on the left most side of the house and the office and spare bedroom were on the rightmost, but there was a large bit of space between them that was unaccounted for. There were no doorways, only a few lamps and the massive painting of the ruins!

Raven's body perked up as she made her way back to the painting, quickly but quietly, carefully trying to peer behind it. There was a soft click and the painting swung away from the wall like a door. Raven could barely contain her excitement as she pulled it further to reveal a door hidden behind it, a smirk crossing her face.

Another day another robbery (Raven Nightfoot)

Kyo was beginning to tire dealing with the two lackey's. despite their lack of combat experience, they seemed to be quite motivated by the unnerving gaze of the old man jeering at them to hurry up the job. They fought at a level of endurance near that of Kyo's.

He was beginning to wonder what was taking the lass so long inside, surely she had found the jewelry boxes or something by now so they could make off with their plunder. But he had yet to see any sign of her peaking outside or something to indicate their swift departure. So Kyo simply trudged on continuing to make a nuisance of himself and singing his drunken melody.

"A barrel of malt, A bussshel of hopsss, you ssstir it with a ssstick,
The kind of lubrication to make your engine tick.
Forty pintsss of wallop a day will keep away the quacksss.
It's only eight pence ha'p'ny a pot and one and six in tax
One, two, three, four, five"

"He might have been an admiral, a sultan, or a king
And to hisss praisssesss we shall alwaysss sssing
Look what he hasss done for us, he'sss filled usss up with cheer
Lord blessssss Charlie Mopsss,
The man who invented Beer!"

He laughed heartily roaring belligerently all the while. ending his song with a swat on the female guards hind quarters, which drew an expression of rage and a quick well placed lash from her sap.

It was then that the world went black for Kyo.

Once she'd found the door everything seemed to speed up, she tried the door but of course it was locked. "This lock looks as if it requires four separate keys...or just one peculiar one" she whispered to herself with a smirk as she made her way back to the office and took the four pointed key from it's hiding place in one of the wooden draws.

Raven couldn't understand why anyone would leave the key so close to the actual safe, but then again...the house was already guarded and the safe was hidden, well hidden, so the owner probably felt he had enough precautionary measures in place to prevent a robbery, silly man.

After retrieving the unusual key and grabbing a candle from the desk(and lighting it) Raven made her way back to the door. She slid the key into the lock and turned it, there was a click and Raven released a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding as the door swung open outwardly.

Raven stepped carefully into the room using the candlelight to illuminate the pure darkness of it's interior, the walls were plain as well as the floor, the only decorations being the several valuable looking objects that sat on the shelves along the walls. A large smile appeared on Raven's face at the sight of the items, although it was more happiness at successfully finding them than it was for the items themselves. This was it, her first REAL job as a thief, a catburglar and she had to admit, it was exhilarating.

Unfortunately for Raven she wasn't very knowledgeable when it came to the value of unusual items such as these so she grabbed the smallest one she saw and left the room, now in more of a hurry to get out with the newly acquired loot than anything else. She locked the door and 'closed' the painting before placing the key back in the draw of the wooden desk in the office and putting the candle back where she had found it.

As she was making her way down the hallway and towards the entrance hall and staircase she realised that it had gone completely quiet, had Kyo left her because she was taking too long? It was possible, she had taken quite a few chimes and he could only distract the guards for so long. That's when Raven's eyes widened in panic, THE GUARDS! No noise meant no distraction which meant...

Raven's deductions were interrupted when, as if on que, she heard heavy footsteps climbing the stairs to the front door. Her amber eyes were wide with panic now, she was only halfway up the staircase and she couldn't get caught, not now, not when she was so close to success. Raven began to speed up her steps while still trying to be as quiet as possible, there was the familiar sound of a doorknob being twisted and then the sound of the door opening behind her. She had only just made it to the landing in time and pressed her back against the wall to avoid being caught, her hand covering her mouth to muffle her panicked breathing.

After only a short moment she heard the heavy footfalls making their way across the entrance hall and towards the hallway, Raven saw this as her chance to escape and made her way to the guest room from which she'd entered the house. Just as she'd closed the door of the room behind her she heard another person enter through the front door and winced as her door clicked closed.

Clearly the person who had entered the house had heard it because he or she was slowly making their way up the stairs. Raven was now even more stressed as her heart began to beat faster than it already had been, she crossed the room as quietly as she could and climbed out of the window, using the windowpane to hang from in order to make less noise, she dropped to the ground below with a soft thud, bending her knees to lessen the sound and impact.

Raven straightened herself up now beaming with pride but the smirk was quickly wiped from her face as she heard the door open in the room above. Another panic attack washed over her, what should she do? She was already out of the house, if she ran she could make it, or she could get caught and well...she knew the consequences. No, she wouldn't run, she thought to herself, she wanted to do this right, she didn't want them to know they'd been stolen from until she was long gone. All this ran through Raven's mind in a split second and finally she decided to make use of her talent for stealth and hide.

Quickly and quietly Raven pressed her back to the house as tightly as she could and not a moment too soon as she heard the footsteps cross the room and stop at the window, the loud breaths coming from above made it clear that whoever it was, was looking out onto the street. Raven stood there, directly beneath the window, as still and as quietly as she could, not daring to look up and too scared to breath, her heart was beating away inside her chest with both the thrill of the entire night and the fear of being caught until, finally, there was an annoyed grunt from above and the ruffling of clothes.

Raven thought whoever it was must have been getting undressed for bed, but her assumption was soon proven incorrect as a long stream of yellowish liquid poured down from above and splashed on the walkway infront of her, the man was urinating out of the window. She watched in disbelief as the long stream continued for several clicks, her back pressed more tightly against the wall than before, her eyes shut in disgust as she felt the drops of scattered urine hitting her leather boots after they collided with the ground. The pungent smell of the urine made her want to gag but she knew she had to remain silent until he was done.

Once the PIG had finally stopped relieving himself, he shut the window and Raven's heart began to calm, although she decided to stay there for another half a chime just to be safe. Finally when she was certain it was safe to move she made her way to the front corner of the house peering around carefully to see if Kyo was still there and sure enough, he was and he was alone. The large brutish man was getting up from the ground looking quite beaten as if he'd just lost a fight, Raven had to admit, he was a good distraction.

Raven waited for him to spot her, their eyes locking for only a moment before she smiled and gave him a thumbs up before disappearing behind the house and walking off down the street, examining her newly stolen loot as she did. She was overcome with pride at her, their, success and although she had considered running off and keeping the loot for herself, she changed her mind and thought it best not to piss of such a large and dangerous man, besides, if she stayed on his good side perhaps they could make a habit of these little 'excursions'.

Her smirk was bigger than ever as Raven made her way down the deserted walkways of Ravok and back toward the bar where she assumed Kyo would meet her, this had turned out to be one of the best nights of her life. Finally she was becoming more than a lowly pickpocket, "And they say crime doesn't pay."

Another day another robbery (Raven Nightfoot)

Postby Kyodaija on October 31st, 2013, 1:09 pm

Kyo found himself dumped off in the gutter of one of the nearby alleyways. His head throbbed something fierce. He had quite the brawl with the spry young guards, and had received a sound knockout blow from the woman's sap. It didn't appear to have been a long time that he was knocked out but his head hurt notably all the same.

He noted several bruises and such from the painful sap she had beat him silly with, starting to well up and go purple already. He laughed heartily at the sight and started to make his way out of the alley. Causing his head to throb with every step.

After a moment or two he noted the little Raven wearing a smug and prideful look on her face. Clearly holding what he could only hope to be some valuable loot. "Sssure took you long enough..." He muttered softly to himself.

He laughed all the same, Ambling his way after her. Noting her direction was clearly that of the Silver Sliver.

He could certainly use a bloody drink right about now...

I picked out the 'smallest item', since it wasn't specified. Sadly, Raven picked up a small leather pouch. Which held five gold mizas. Collector's editions.
Ouch.

Notes

Raven, just a note. There are no 'noblemen' in Ravok. Yes, it's called the Noble district, but there aren't technically any noblemen. it's just strange that way. But... those who live there ARE very rich.

I found this badly planned, and though you wrote it quite well Raven, it seemed a little... impromptu. Which is bad, for a burglary. Because of this, your reward is... minimal, at least.
