Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The Tuvya Sasaran is a large, single story building where the walls behind echo out the shouts and struggles all Akalak must endure in their early years of life. Its outer walls are brown in color, made from the very wood collected fromImage the small patches of forest near the great water fall of the city. None of its windows are made from glass, but rather a thin screen of hemp coupled with wooden shutters, carrying with it the smell of incense and a hint of sweat. Two small steps lead up to its entrance, its doors sliding open to the side, rather than swinging. On the front of these doors, a painted symbol marks the entrance proudly, letting others know which building they enter.

Just inside the entrance, a visitor is greeted with the shouts of practice within. Hardwood floors line the surface and to the side, several small floor mats lay, lined with boots, shoes and other assorted foot ware, indicating that such is not allowed to be worn within the practice rooms themselves. Those entering, would soon be greeted by one of several junior instructors the school has for teaching as they discuss with new arrivals what they hope to learn and the costs for such. Small halls lead to several doors lining them both to the left and right, each one sliding open like the entrance. Within each room, a padded floor lines its surface as opposed to the hardwood flooring that lines the halls. One instructor supervises the students who practice within, each one holding up to eight students. Up to four practice dolls are generally found within each room for students to practice on until they have gained skill enough to spar against each other.

Finally, at the center of the Tuvya Sasaran, is the grand practice room. A training room like the others, only twice as large, Along the far wall, rests a chair where the grand master himself sits, as he observes students who wish to test their skills, hoping to have earned enough knowledge in their art to either progress to the next level ad begin taking on students themselves, or begin their training in other aspects of Akalak culture in preparation for one of their Rites.

________

The Tuvya Sasaran is a school of Hand to Hand combat, and techniques helping in improvement of their use such as dance, body conditioning and training, or meditation. It houses ten training rooms as well as the grand practice hall, housing up to one hundred students at any given time, not including instructors. The instructors themselves were previously travelers of the lands, seeking further knowledge and other styles of fighting in their younger years after passing their Rite of Trial. As such, several different forms of hand to hand are taught here in an attempt to teach what would best suit any individual student.

The Grand Master of the Tuvya Sasaran, referred to by most of his students as the Shogh-Attar, is named Ismail Bahram. It is him who eventually takes on the more troubled Akalaks and students for teaching, when instructors under him find themselves unable to properly teach.

Ismail Bahram :
Skills
Akalak Hand to Hand - 90
Isurian Hand to Hand - 72
Myrian Hand to Hand - 70
Brawling - 48
Lakan - 52
Meditation - 63
Teaching - 75
Gnosis - Wys lvl 3, Night Stalking, 1

Ismail is an imposing figure, standing at an even 7 feet tall. His face looks aged, carrying with it a temperance and wisdom that he had earned in his 362 years of life. That aged look, however, takes nothing away from his physical conditioning as his body is large, and very well toned, carrying several scars that he named his “Trials of Learning.”

Four days after passing his Rite of Trial, Ismail found balance with his dark brother, the first one of the Akalak culture to do so at such a young age. The desire he shared with his darker half eventually found him setting off to explore the lands, not only to improve his own skill, but to learn what others around the lands use when they battle weaponless. The journey itself found him facing several different creatures and races alike, some of them hostile, others friendly. Through it all, Ismail never wavered and always kept a focused mind. It is perhaps this reason that Wysar took special notice of him, and eventually marked Ismail as one of his priests. The journey itself took a little over a century before Ismail finally returned home to Riverfall. It would be another three seasons before he eventually took over as Grand Master of the Tuvya Sasaran, offering students not only the Akalak form of hand to hand, but other forms as well.

Ismail always shows a calm and strict demeanor, pushing his students to their utmost limits. He never appears to act in anger, instead finding that a fierce gaze, coupled with his reputation as being the most skilled hand to hand combatant in all the lands of Mizahar, is enough to put any student acting out back into their place.
