The fifteenth day of Winter, 513 A.V.

Meville had finally gotten around to asking Geninsi if she wanted him to get a floor cabin map, to which she'd finally gotten around to telling him "Yes, in fact, we do need that", which meant today he was heading over to the Snowsong Hold for a little business transaction. Having been given money to purchase the skill of one Snowdrop Snowsong, Meville wandered the Arvinta for a few chimes before he found someone who was able to direct her to her home. Stopping at the door, Meville ran through everything he needed. The documents he needed copied were in his rucksack, while the money was in a purse separate from his own, hitched to the other side of his hip.

"
She wanted... ten? Ten copies of the map... Five of the basic registry, and a redone pricelist..." The last one he winced at slightly, remembering how much coaxing Jennai had to do to get Geninsi to admit it needed fixing. Hopefully the Snowsong would do a better job of it. Running a hand through his hair, Meville rapped a few times on the wood of the door. "Hello? Snowdrop?"

“Bruce me let go please,” Snowdrop practically begged the dog to do. He refused to let her go. I swore that he was dog when I bought him. He was hanging on her like a cat with a scratching post. Bruce continued to dig his little claws into her pants. A low growl rang out through his throat. The young Vantha knew he wasn’t going to hurt her, but didn’t want to deal with him barking at her. She sighed and let him go. He curled back up on her lap and put his head on her stomach. Mine, he thought as he curled into a deeper ball.

Snowdrop really needed to get up. She huffed out a breath and blew a stray out of her eyes. Her brother was playing in the corner of the room with his flute. The music notes bounced around the room as he played. He was getting better, but there flat every so often. She looked over at him. He was growing up so fast. The little boy was already 5 and it made her feel old. A knock resounded into the home. Rocketing out of her bed, she pulled the dog off and briskly walked through the living area. Unfortunately, her brother was faster and opened the door.

Hentry looked at the man and sneered. He towered over the little boy and Hentry didn’t like that one bit. He closed the door harshly and marched past his sister and went back to his flute. Snowdrop then rushed to the door and jerked it open, “how may I help you,” she blushed at her brother’s rudeness.

From behind the door, Meville could hear the sounds of a flute being played, which meant someone was there. Not wanting to be rude, he patiently waited as the sound of the flute broke off in a flat and the pad of footsteps came closer. Allowing his face to brighten into a wide smile as the door was unlatched, Meville turned to stare into a room with a young woman wearing a concerned expression. Glancing around, he realized the one who'd opened the door was beneath him, staring up at him with a rather acidic sneer. "
Erm... Hello?" He offered the child before the door was slammed in his face. Having leaned slightly forward, the wood connected with is forehead, sending a lightning fast shock of pain directly to his brain. Letting out a snipped yelp, Meville jumped back, hands immediately shooting to rub the quickly forming bruise.

The door opened a second time, though Meville had backed up quite a good distance from the portal, blinking back the throbbing pain in his skull. As the young woman offered a polite Vani phrase, Meville blinked a few more times before being able to respond. After the blow to his head, he had a bit of a harder time forming his words in Vani than usual. "
Oh... Uh... I needing." Frowning, he let his hand fall to his side as he quickly tried to translate his Common to Vani again, "I meaning... Um. You are Snowdrop?"

Deciding it would just be better to tell her what he needed, Meville pulled the documents out of his rucksack. Absentmindedly, he gingerly tapped the spot on his forehead as he extended the papers towards her. "
Can you making copies? Of this? This...es? These?" Shrugging, Meville pulled the pouch of money from his hip, the one Geninsi had given him for payment. "And how much for?" Even he had to wince as his incredibly poor Vani. The blow to the head had really disoriented his bilingual capabilities.

He wasn’t a Vantha Snowdrop noticed from just looking at him. Most Vantha’s had black hair that ended in highlights or had some type of color in their hair. The man before her had blonde hair and eye that did not seem to change colors. Were they locked in one color, she shivered at the thought. Her mother once told her a legend about the very notion of a Vantha’s eyes being deadlocked.

She almost grimaced seeing a bruise form on the man’s forehead. I really need to teach him some matters. He looked a little confused and her eyes faded to that of a dark blue. She was concerned that her brother slamming the door in the man’s face did some real damage to the man. The teenager was about to open her mouth before he started to talk. "I meaning... Um. You are Snowdrop?" Snowdrop nodded hesitantly at the stranger. Did I do something wrong, she started to mentally panic.

She stopped her raging thoughts and watched as he brought out papers and asked her if the teenager could copy them. She struggled to understand his Vani, but got the gist of it. Two things went through her mind the first one was that how did he found her and the second one was that she questioning her ability. She was getting better but still a novice with the craft of coping, but she would try her best.

"And how much for?"

After that question, she was stumped. Snowdrop didn’t know what to charge the man. “I could copy them,” she stuttered out in common. He didn’t seem to be well in the Vani language. She opened the door a little wider to allow the individual in question inside. “We can discuss matter of the price later on if you want,” she offered a small shy smile as looked down at her bare feet.

Her Common was much better than his dazed Vani at the moment. Meville smiled, nodding that a later decided upon price would work just as well. The throb that accompanied the motion gave him a firm reminder that it was probably best he keep his head stationary for the time being. Slipping past her in the most polite fashion he could muster, Meville slowly let his eyes drift around the room, turning his body rather than his neck to survey the area for fear of further aggravating the bruise on his forehead.

What he assumed to be Snowdrop's brother sat on one side of the room, glaring up at him with the same snide glower he'd given him at the doorway. A slight raise of the brow was all Meville deigned to give the boy. He waited until Snowdrop closed the door behind him to address her once more. Deciding it was most polite to remain conversing in Vani, Meville clicked his tongue before he started into it. After the initial shock of the blow, he was much better able to communicate, though the words and accent were still rough. "
Ten of these," He shifted the papers around so the map was on top. "Five of these," The registry now lay in the most prominent spot in his hands. "And just one of this." The muddy registry with an accompaniment of several pieces of parchment with the price alterations and other notes upon it.

"
I hoping it will not much trouble being?" He offered her an apologetic grin. Deciphering the notes Jennai had written down to help with the messy price list would certainly be a task.

Snowdrop closed the door softly and turned to the taller person in her. She wasn’t someone that minded heights, but the man before makes her want to reconsider that idea. The Vantha glared at her brother willing him to get up. With a huff and a stomp, Hentry went into another room. Now that that he was gone Snowdrop focused her attention on the man in question. Her eyes faded to a light blue as she listened to his request. His Vani improved much more than it was earlier. Maybe he was a fast learner. Ooo maybe he was one of those Kelvics. She didn’t stay much in that topic before bringing her attention back to the blonde.

“I can copy them, but it might take a while. I’m still not that quite well in the verse of copying,”
she said sadly. She didn’t want to disappoint the stranger especially if it is dealing with money. And she really needed the money. Looking down at the parchments, one of them was muddy and had many different writings on it. At least it was just one for that one, the teenager didn’t know if she could copy that much. The map however seemed the most isn’t to do. It was like drawing a picture. Nodding her head in determination, Snowdrop held out her arms for the stack of papers.
