Chaktawe race question

Postby Matheus ys on February 11th, 2014, 12:15 am

I haven't started anything yet. Just collecting information about Mizahar. I'm thinking about a Chaktawe character who is albino. That would make the character interesting since they are " people with dark hair, black eyes and copper skin.". I just wanted to know if that's possible or not. (Sorry i'm new to this)

Chaktawe race question

Postby Evalin on February 11th, 2014, 2:43 am

Albino's usually have a lot more issues than just pale skin and hair. With it comes a lot of other genetic complications which makes it hard for them to survive, especially in Mizahar's harsh conditions. Also the Chaktawe live in the desert where rays from the sun are always really intense. I don't think that an albino would be able to last very long, or at the least very easily, under such harsh conditions.

You do not need some special trait or characteristic or 'condition' to make your character unique. In fact so many try to go this route that those people that are 'normal' by the racial standards are actually a lot more rare and unusual. We have a lot of people try to go the Albino route, but more often than not it is pointed out that it is much better to make your character unique because of who their are and what they want to accomplish rather than trying to make them special because of something very superficial. My advice is to make your character special, don't make a special character.

Sincerely,
Evalin

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

I was thinking to make it hard for the character and connect it with a background story. That would make my character special but since i learned a lot more people is trying it, i think i won't do it. Thanks for the reply and advice
