Katherine Dykstra Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 21 years of age Birthday: Spring 72nd, 492 AV Birthplace: Lhavit Physical Details: Standing at five feet and seven inches tall, Katherine is a slender girl from living in the mountain ranges of Kalea all of her life. She's around the 120 pound range, and her muscles are anything but defined. Katherine has soft features, pretty but not stunningly beautiful. Her curly brownish-red hair denotes possible diluted Inarta heritage. Her freckles are the most prominent feature, like paint splattered on her skin. Dark eyes, grey with hints of blue, stand out from the lightness of her flesh. They hold knowledge of the danger of mountain climbs in Kalea. She's no stranger to cold mountain air and high altitudes, proven by the scars she bears on her arms and legs. A (Lorak maybe?) brand marks her left cheek. Character Concept Katherine. One word to describe her: Stubborn. This coupled with her sharp tongue continues to put her in danger. Her naivety keeps her from seeing just how much trouble she's in until it's too late, and she refuses to acknowledge titles such as 'Master' or 'Mistress'. Even beatings can only momentarily silence her. When she is healed once more, the fierce personality rising again. Character History Katherine grew up in the mountainous region of Kalea, being the youngest and only girl out of six children. Their parents were rather wealthy, and shielded their offspring from as many horrors of the real world. However, having five brothers often resulted in scrapes and bruises (and the occasional broken bone) from scaling small outcroppings and climbing trees. The young girl hungered for knowledge as well as adventure. She made frequent visits to the library in Lhavit, soaking up the stories found in the faded pages. Around her late teens Katherine was struck with a fierce wanderlust. She desperately wanted to get out of the mountain city she'd lived in until then, to see the places she'd read about with her own eyes. Her parents were deeply troubled. They were supposed to protect their little girl, and didn't want her to leave. But Katherine was stubborn, and they finally agreed to let her go. She joined the first caravan to depart, taking three sets of clothing and plenty of food. She was in Riverfall when the Djed Storm arrived. Now a young woman of twenty-one years, Katherine was more fit and certainly more wise than when she left Lhavit. She stayed for roughly one-half of the year, helping healers tend to minor wounds caused by the amalgam of creatures that crawled from the River and bay. When she left Riverfall, she immediately journeyed to Kenash. She was curious about the Dynasties, yet was not aware of the thirty days given to her in order to become a Freeborn. Once the grace period had expired, without her knowing, a certain someone was sent to capture her and deliver her to the Auction Hall. Katherine was taken by surprise, a hit to the head dropping her immediately. She awoke in a wooden stall, chained by the ankle and dressed in a shapeless piece of cloth. All of her possessions, excluding the silver ring decorated with a single precious gem given to her by her parents, were taken. She awaits her new life as a slave, scared and prone to lashing out.
