43rd day of Spring, 514 AV
The deep chasms of the Inner Warrens proved to be a much more alien point in terms of navigating. With numerous paths connecting to another perplexed pattern, one would think a day should be spent in understanding and navigating the endless labyrinth filled with utter ambiguity if that certain person is in need of an effective route to a particular destination. Stone carvings strew on most walls of the place, giving sights of magnificent images that told the tales of how the mountain was forged into a wondrous home of proud people. A fiery brown color tinted the structural foundations that interconnected the paths while a peculiar brightness blazed some of the dim corners of the area.
Jehryn was no stranger of the place. Although he would admit to himself that being lost occurred countless of times before, he now got used into navigating on most baffled paths and find it an easier route if he ever wanted to visit his father at the Aeries, which wouldn't happen at any occasion. He felt relieved at the moment and free at the same time. After receiving a short break from his duties, Jehryn found a very good reason to start exploring some of the places where he haven't discovered before and thus, mulling to wander off at a place which was heavily rumored by a few Yasi.
It was called 'the Edge' if he would recall. Jehryn never had the largest share of rumors when he was still a child. He asked his mother several times where it would possibly be located and even begged for a navigational guide of the place. In the end, none of them were successfully claimed but he knew it might be at the outer peaks from inside the mountain though the estimated time of travelling on foot was certainly unknown. Jehryn was unsure but it was best to give it a try rather than doing nothing.
Jehryn walked his way through the Inner Warrens, marking every noticeable object he saw as a reference point to avoid going in circles. He'd only hope this process wouldn't take long before he resumes his duties to the terror known as his mother. Few Inartan workers passed him by, some giving friendly gestures of having a good day and others acting completely neutral. He could ask for some directions to where 'The edge' is located but interrupting them in the middle of their businesses might give way to troubles he never wanted to have. Jehryn continued on walking, up to such point where he reached a location which seemed to be brighter than the previous ones he had passed. The Edge might be a few walks away but to the Kelvic, the passage still seemed uncertain.

It was the Outer Warrens, or so, if he would assume. Shimmers of bursting light glistened the stone walls and the rocky sculptures which rallied from the Inner Warrens. It also shone a crooked path where it led to an unknown destination but seemed to marshal against the outer districts of the mountain. Fairly strong winds wafted through some areas of the vicinity, making Jehryn feel it's delicate procession as they made their way to rustle along with any light objects found in the Warrens. It was silent, or lacked people in other terms. In such time around the 11th ring of the bell, people might have been giving their hardest to finish their jobs. And to such condition of the Reach, not one person was found to be venturing outside to take a break, except for Jehryn that is. The Kelvic hummed a tune he heard recently from a Yasi playing a lute. It was so pleasing that Jehryn couldn't wash the melodies off his mind.
He bustled his way out after an endless travel from the narrow alleys of the warrens. Jehryn got a bit tired from all the confusions of either cruising in to a particular path or randomly following where the wind blew only to find out that he went the wrong way. But in the end, all felt nothing but rewarding as he saw the ever blazing sun and the fine weather. Eyes squinted from the sudden brightness as the noon shine of the sun stung his eyes. The wind felt stronger and a bit violent but it didn't distract Jehryn from ever continuing his attempted escapade. The boundless blue sky allured the Kelvic's attention, taking his gaze up above while filling himself with much admiration as he took a delicate sight of clouds, forming free shapes that told distant tales of the region. Jehryn continued to saunter his way to his supposed destination.
Within the surroundings that Jehryn was walking along, were trees lying in various angles. Some had crooked branches, others had their postures dwindled down after the recent storms while the rest appeared to have thin and diminutive branches. Their leaves and vegetation were tinted in a fiery orange color from the rays the sun had bathed in. Bushes and snippets of grass also had a share of life within area, though a few of them looked to be withering in time. While Jehryn continued walking, he lately noticed he wasn't taking a stroll aground but rather, high above a towering plateau. He felt as if he got a lucky shot in navigating from the warrens, where the very sight of the canyons proved to be signs that The Edge might be a few walks away.
Jehryn stopped for a while before continuing his way on. The view from above was exceptionally bewildering to the Kelvic. With deep forests encompassing a large mass of the land below while valleys and short green hills were seen on the northern point. Jehryn never imagined how landmasses would look from above, in fact, he never pictured it before until he saw it now. He could see tall mountains at a distance, where their tips were swarmed by thick clouds. Jehryn could level his sights of the mountains from afar unlike how he views it from the ground. It was spectacular but how someone would view the landscapes from The Edge was something he awaited.
After taking a brief glance from the flat plateaus where he ended himself into, Jehryn resumed his walk, hoping to find The Edge before the time of his break would take it's toll.

The farther side of the plateau had more of grass and bushes seen. They grew in various thick flocks scattered either around the stony peaks or hinged at inclined tree trunks. A few boulders were situated near those grasses. With their aegis corrupted down by mosses that swarmed it's very being with dark green colors from all of the years it had stood still. With more of them being seen from the main path of the land area, a huge chunk of stone gradually came into sight. It extended beyond a dead end of the plateau having an enormous height and walls filled with jagged rocks. It looked like a cliff if one would confirm. Walls forged a peculiar structure with toppled stones overlapping the land structure of the plateau where it jutted. The cliff's zenith rendered trees and bushes that laid the same as the ones in the plateau, some branches that hang on the verge of stones actually fell from the wind's strong grasps. Whatever it should be named, 'The Edge' was a very suitable one and it wouldn't be called as such if it weren't for it's breathtaking appearance.
Traversing through a sophisticated and winding path had paid off. Jehryn had thought he would never make it and might fall from the steepness of the land area. It was very difficult and tiring but all of those time spent on walking were almost at it's end. The gigantic cliff was just a few walks before him, he could see it's peak as well as it's challenging wall to climb. But the wall seemed to be a bigger problem. Having no equipment present felt as if he was giving himself a challenge through a game of death. It was risky but there was nothing Jehryn could do to back away.
Eyes gawked in awe when Jehryn halted. He slowly leveled his gaze up towards the walls and then to the cliff's peak. It was far challenging to climb than what he expected. He never even thought of having to climb the place from what he pictured before though he actually had experienced climbing some land marks and the skill itself wasn't alien to him. He held himself back from the Edge, lifting some crumbs of courage before taking a step forward. There were different sides of the walls structured oddly enough to be recognized by any novice, experienced or a non-climber. The one which Jehryn had looked upon was the side that seemed to be less difficult to climb. Jagged rocks and pegs hanged over the stony foundation while heaps of rope were knotted at various points where there ought to be some climbers who either left the helpful kits or placed them for other potential climbers to benefit. Whatever the reason was, Jehryn started to feel at ease with the fear of falling slowly drifting away from his thoughts.
He felt nervous before even grabbing a stone that might aid his climbing. Heights didn't sprawl fear in his sanity but he was unsure if what he was doing might take too long before his break ends. And he certainly didn't desire to be bombarded by the endless nags of his mother. Jehryn took one long breath then grabbed a small chunk of stone, found in the most bottom part of the cliff's wall. He pushed then pulled his weight with his right arm as his body was lifted and his midsection leveled the upper portion of the first stone. Jehryn paused, breathing a bit heavily then lifted his left arm to grab the next chunk of stone. Something felt uneasy, he turned to look at the next stone and it was higher and looked difficult to reach. Regardless, Jehryn gathered as much strength to his left arm as he attempted to stretch in its extremities.

His arms stiffened. A wicked twist of his tendons was felt just before his left arm reached the next chunk of stone. After reaching, Jehryn carried the weight of his body upwards, giving strength to every fiber of his muscle to ascend on the higher levels of the wall. Having his other arm met the chunk of stone where his left arm had gripped, his left foot landed on a small open space in the wall where it could fit for him to stand. He briefly felt relieved but still he had a long way to climb. Jehryn throbbed an exhausting breath even though he just started. His eyes met a craggy rock and unlike the chunk of stones he used recently, it was relatively small and much farther for him to reach. Still, it was a challenge and Jehryn felt everything will be fine and safe. Still he had no plan on how to ascend on the next climbing aid until an idea bashed his mind in suddenness.
The chunk of rock he was currently hanging to was large enough, utilizing it was only but a mere possibility but through Jehryn's mind, it could perfectly work. He released his feet from the small open space he stood, slowly swaying his legs back and forth until he gathered enough momentum. Once he did, he pushed his feet towards the chunk of stone where he held his arms on and found himself hanging with all limbs bound together. He nearly fell and slipped at the first try but balance has been kind to him on those hours. The chunk of stone had no flat surface and it was impossible to stand even at the slightest angle. But Jehryn was positive that his idea would work. He halted for some time, calculating on how he would try and reach the other rock. The next move was very risky but it was all he could think of and might as well try than give up.
Jehryn felt the beating of his heart, anxious to what his mind has led him through. Teeth gritted each other, sweat ran down from his forehead and to his neck. His face drew a determined look just to see the view from the peak. All in all, he gathered every strength he has onto his legs while bending them against the chunk of stone. He counted in his thoughts and once he went through the last number, His legs sprung from the chunk of rock upward as both of his arms were stretched tremendously, trying the best that he could just to reach the rock. And he did but only his left arm held the rock's aegis. Jehryn felt heavy, his weight was pulling him down and his body is giving him unwanted rigidity. He was now sweating heavily, even when the wind blew fairly strong. Breaths were streamed heavily while the muscles of his left arm trembled from grabbing the rock. He then lifted his other arm just to grab hold of it but nearly didn't gave any progress since the rock was fairly small in size.
Jehryn then lifted his head and turned his gaze above when he saw something which gave an ace of relief. It was a rope, hanging and knotted to a larger jagged rock. But seeing as to how he would transfer himself onto that particular point, felt quite impossible. Jehryn didn't knew it would be this difficult to climb the wall. It was ridiculous but still the desire of reaching the top of the cliff remained settled on his mind. He need to think of another way to climb or this would be all for nothing.

The small chunk of rock began to crumble. Jehryn already felt his weight contributing for the rock's collapse, his eyes looked a bit terrified and both of his arms were shaking. The rope above was a lot farther to reach and the Kelvic couldn't come up with anything to ascend himself. Then as the wind shifted, waving the small strands of his trimmed hair, another aid came flashing through his sights as he he tilted his gaze to his left side. There, looked an uneven surface of mashed up stones which turned out to be a possible obstacle he could use to reach the rope. Though it was uncertain for Jehryn to know if he can stabilize himself onto the said structure, there was nothing he could do nor anything that would aid him to lift himself up to the higher levels of the wall.
The supposed aid was disposed about a few inches from where the Kelvic was hanging. Jehryn jerked his left hand, sliding it to the flat surfaces of the wall as his fingers landed and gripped the stony surface. He felt his tendons snugged a clout when he lifted his weight to pull the other half of his body. His chest elevated the rock he previously held, while his right arm reached his left hand to completely grab the stony surface, leaving the bulk of his torso in an unsteady posture. Once both of his arms were held on the stony surface steadily, his feet along with his body swayed violently to his left, crashing the left side of his leg to the compact wall. Jehryn grunted in pain but only to it's slightest amount, nothing it could do from ever ceasing his ascension.
He then brushed his boots to the rocky surface, sending off bits of small stones below while a few strikes of dust strayed off to his face. The rope was at his reaches, as it landed on his hand when he stretched it. Jehryn then gripped the rope tightly, grabbing to let it lift his weight. With a strong pull, he got himself onto another chunk of rock. It had an even surface on the upper portion and Jehryn knew it would be giving him some advantage to rest for a while and gather up strength to climb the remaining levels of the wall. He lifted his right arm, sticking his fingers at the even surface while he slowly lifted the very weight of his body's bottom mass. With his right arm joining his other as he lifted himself, Jehryn got himself on the flat surface of the large rock and laid himself down. Exhausted breaths frequently streamed from his nostrils and his mouth, eyes were partially brought to a close while dropping the weight of his shoulders. The few climbs he started was tiring than what he expected. His experience before had nothing alike with climbing a huge cliff but he felt as if he was slowly completing a new challenge from his past experiences.
The Kelvic opened his eyes, seeing as to where he had gotten himself. He had to admit, he was amused of his climbing progress but he was still halfway through. The wall was tremendously huge no doubt but Jehryn slowly got his courage up when a glimpse of steel pegs caught his gaze from above.
