Celphine Primrose Appearance Race: Symenestra Gender: Female Age: 18 Birthday: 50th of Summer, 495 av Birthplace: Kalinor, Kalea Appearance: Celphine is a young and vibrant Symenestra woman. Her body is thin and elegant in design, like the others of her race. She has ashen white skin with grey veins peaking through the semi translucent flesh in certain places. Her arms are slightly elongated and her hands are tipped with long, thick black claw-like nails, matching claws are on her toes, though her toe-claws are filed down to no more than an inch of the pointed black nail peaking past her toes. Her finger nail claws are longer then those on her toes. Along with the Symenestra nails she also has vivid jewel-toned eyes in a shade of Amethyst. Her hair is extremely long and a pristine white color. Most of the time Celphine wears her hair long and free, but at night before bed, or when she's working she carefully braids it all into a few long braids then pins them all to her head to keep her hair from flying into her face. She rarely wears cosmetics, she prefers a more "natural" look, but will throw on some Kohl or Lip Pomade when she feels it is a special occasion. Appearances are somewhat important to her though and she does a great deal to ensure she looks decent most of the time. If not with cosmetics then definitely with her silken attire. Character Concept Celphine is a soft spoken Symenestra who is very gentle, friendly and sometimes very introverted. She never seems to be overly emotional in one way or another, but usually has a balanced temperament. Her passions, be them positive or negative, rarely come to the surface with her and instead she quietly deals with her own emotions with little notice of anyone else. She seems to have endless patience and compassion, but she has just mastered the ability to hold her tongue and smile through. Deep down she has a passion for her weaving and is a perfectionist. Often she will spirit herself away to a loom and spend hours, even days working on one weave, trying to make the fabric as perfect as it can be. She is not wasteful though, and often times when she feels she had err'd she will simply complete the "imperfect" cloth and donate it to the school for them to sell as she will only sell those creations of hers she deems perfect. This struggle to make her creations perfect also effects her in day to day life. Celphine dislikes things not going her way and while she will never complain (at least not to anyone other than a dear friend,) it does bother her. She also absolutely hates not having control of a situation, feeling that only she can make it the perfect situation for her and that anyone else would ruin the perfect outcome. While seeming incredibly easy to get along with and work with, she is actually a bit hard to deal with at times. Her frustrations can be guessed when she politely excuses herself from a group project, claiming she couldn't possibly bring the work justice and then goes off to do her own thing. She was quite the irritating student to work with at the Weft and Warp school. The only people who did well in projects with her were those who let her take full lead on it. When selling her wares her friendly and compassionate disposition assist her in selling her silks to a number of merchants, she is usually firm on price, but her way of going about it makes people a bit more likely to buy her silks at her prices. Those who prove loyal customers to her have found she will negotiate in bulk, or with someone who buys from her more than another Weaver, a sort of Loyalty Discount, she calls it, but she always is sure to make a profit so she can keep buying more materials to keep pumping out silks and cloths. As she becomes better at Persuasion and Negotiation she will become a better business woman and maybe even open a real shop instead of just renting a stall at the Orchid Market and selling silks when she can. Character History Celphine is the youngest of the Primrose family and is the families only daughter. Her father, Daerys and his wife Nelystra, are normal Symenestra who opted to go through the surrogate process to have their three children. Celphine's oldest brother is named Velistrys and under him is the second oldest son, Derisan. Being the only daughter in the family Nel and Dae heavily dote on her, making sure she is well educated, and taken care of. Neither of her brothers ever seemed to be bothered by this, her eldest brother, Velistrys often doting on her as well. She was born on a warm summer morning to an unlucky Inarta woman who had been brought in by her father during a harvest. The short human woman apparently had a fiery temper and even as Celphine's venom was destroying her form the inside out she tried to take some of the midwives, doctors and even Celphine down with her. She had been heavily sedated for most of the pregnancy though, so all she managed to do was break Daerys' arm as he jumped in to protect his new daughter from the wrath of the dying surrogate. As she grew older she attended the school all Symenestra children did, and by age fifteen was also learning how to weave at the loom. As she got older she began getting more into weaving, but also aerial dancing. Though the latter was more a hobby and the former would become her profession. She watched as her two older brothers went their separate ways and eventually her eldest brother moved out into his own home when he began courting a woman he would eventually marry. During this same time a young traveler came to Kalinor to trade some books he had acquired for some Symenestra Silk. Celphine came across him in the middle of the city. His escort had dropped him off at The Weft and Warp. When she turned Sixteen she began working under Alessa and Avarys at The Weft and Warp as an apprentice Weaver. Her growing love of her profession helped her in her love of her hobby, she experimented with different silk weaves testing the strength of a varying thread count and other things. While she has never done any actual dying, she always enjoyed watching the dye-makers do their thing and dye the fabrics she had helped weave. During this same time a young traveler came to Kalinor to trade some books he had acquired for some Symenestra Silk. Celphine came across him in the middle of the city. His escort had dropped him off at The Weft and Warp to do his purchasing. She assisted him in picking out some good silks to resell back in some human city. After spending some time talking to him, and learning his name was Jorell, they began exchanging knowledge and it was through him she was introduced to Reimancy. Originally she thought it was just some interesting little thing she could pick up and study. Her thirst for knowledge was a racial trait she carried, wanting to know anything interesting she could. He ended up leaving the city before he could really show or tell her anything she could use or to even explain the process of being initiated into Reimancy. Though there are no Reimancy teachers in Kalinor, or even books to anyone's knowledge, she still has high hopes to find something to teach her more. As she grew older and her apprenticeship began to come to a close she began taking her perfected finished cloths and selling them in the Orchid Market to any tailors or even regular buyers who wanted some nice silks to either fashion into clothes or other things. She managed to save up enough to buy a home for herself last season and only finished moving all her things in within the first days of Spring 514 av. It starts at the middle of her throat and the different tiers reach down to her sternum. It is decorated with small polished amethyst stones. Housing Location: Kalinor House: Permanent Homes are made from stalactites or stones that hang from the cavern ceiling. There are no glass windows, and rooms inside are separated by hanging cloth. The home is roughly 20x20 in size, pear shaped, and includes a hearth, bunk, chest, chair, and small table. FloorplanThe colored lines represent sheets of silk/cloth when drawn to separate the storage and sleeping areas from the rest of the open space. The houses in Kalinor don’t look anything like what you are used to. They aren’t square, they aren’t angular, and they don’t stand on the ground. Instead they are roughly pear shaped or shaped like a drop and hang from the ceiling. They don’t have windows, and the entrance is located at or near the very top of the house. From there a silk rope usually leads down, towards the living quarters. Symenestra homes usually don’t have a lot of rooms, but niches in the walls where the individual members of a Web store their things or sleep behind curtains. The houses are made of stalactites or stones, and they are connected to each other by thick cords of silk.
