An Oddity (Eleazar)

Vayl meets more people in his dreams

Herein lies the realm of dreams, where dreamers who are scattered all over the world in the physical can come together in the mysterious world of dreams. Remember, unless one is a Dreamwalker, there is no control over dreams. Ever. Anything can happen, and by threading a dream, you are subject to whomever can walk dreams and the whims of Storytellers.

Vayl's eyes snapped open, the pupils expanding until his eyes were almost totally black, before he took a huge gulp of air. His eyes contracted back to normal and he sat up suddenly. Vayl looked ahead of himself.

Well... another dream then. he thought to himself, flexing his shoulders slowly. Ahead of him was Kalinor. It wasn't quite right, obviously he couldn't remember it quite right or something. There seemed to be too many people living there. There was too much life, too much happiness and colour. Not only that but he was separated by... well he wasn't quite sure what it was.

It was deep and dark, there seemed to never be an end to it. But there had to be and end... he could see Kalinor.

hrm... he wondered if he could get there.

An Oddity (Eleazar)

Near the edge of this city that-wasn't-Kalinor, was a puddle. It wasn't overly large or deep, just wet and puddle-like. In the middle of the puddle floated a small body covered in feathers. Soft to the touch and barely bigger than the palm of a man's hand, Eleazar was a duckling. Why? He did not know nor did he care; little mind to focused on how far paddling with his orange webbed feet could take him.

Reaching the edge of his watery region, the teen-turn-avian grew irritated. He wanted to swim much further than the silly too small pond was allowing him to. Waddling out of the puddle, the brown and yellow fluff ball turned it's attention away from the city to the blackness beyond the buildings. The inky coloured emptiness spoke only of danger and the unknown, the blackest of black on black.

Squinting at the nothingness, a small pale figure in the distance brought significant contrast to the landscape. What was he doing out there? He should go find out. Pattering over the the edge of where the darkness started, Eleazar slipped seamlessly into the blackness, gliding over the surface of it like it where liquid. Paddling onwards he approached the figure, quacking politely as he neared them.

OOCSo Eleazar is a duck. What he looks like

Vayl raised an eyebrow as he looked up. This dream was certainly unique. A small creature swam across the.. nothing towards him. It was beautiful. A small point of colour in a sea of darkness, sending infinite ripples out forever.

He was sure he could find a metaphor in that somewhere, but now wasn't the time.

The creature drew closer, and quacked at him. So it was a duck perhaps? He'd never dreamt about a duck before. Standing up, Vayl walked to the edge of the blackness and knelt down. His traced his hand through the space where the duck was swimming, but felt nothing. Vayl absently wondered just how the duck was swimming in the first place. With a small chuckle he returned to watching Kalinor from his rock.

"Well isn't this surreal?"

But one day
you will stand before death's decrepit gate,
without really knowing why
