Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

[Suvai Pavillion] Ignore that Feeling and Focus

Early evening, 2 bells before sunset
A soothing breeze brushed through Ora’s hair, pulling the scent of the silver lake to her nostrils and filling her lungs. Violet eyes looked over the large, red and blue building that jutted out towards the lake. Konti sisters came and went in calm waves, their feet crunching over the ground as they went about their days. A few walked past Ora on their way back to their homes and the central area of the city, smiles and pleasantries were exchanged as they passed by.

Ora had gotten back into an old habit, carrying around her father’s Lakan. It was a sort of security to her, not that she knew how to use it to save her own hide—but it was the connection she had to a man she’d never met. The Konti didn’t bother trying to explain why she carried it around, to her, it was more like wearing a necklace or ring, it was precious and she liked to keep it close. Her pale fingers slipped over the hilt of the weapon, feeling the cool metal and leather wrappings. Her attention returned to the Suvai Pavillion. It had been a while since she’d tried to better herself with the Suvai, and it was a skill that had proved itself invaluable.

The pull within her breast had been reignited after a long stagnation in her life. The events in Riverfall had left a permanent mark upon the young woman and fear clenched at her throat even though years had passed. She would find herself waking in the middle of the night, terror filling her small frame and phantom pains upon her shoulder and hip. Her fingers would touch the painful points only to feel the old scars from the bolts and poison.

Her call was strong though, she’d waited so long, ignored it with all her might that now it was almost all consuming. It was an ache in her heart that she’d ignored the little prodding, she’d ignored the subtle nudges until it was a gale upon her heart to follow what had been set out before her. The book, the strange happenings in Riverfall, the kidnapping—it had all happened to quickly, so suddenly in a torrent of activity. She hadn’t been old enough, she hadn’t been ready. It was all too much for the young Konti, and Ora still felt she was too young for it, she still felt so woefully unprepared for what her call held for her.

And so, Ora stood outside the Suvai Pavillion, her fingers tracing over the shape of her suvai while violet eyes looked over the symbolic building. Red for rage and blue for calm, the Konti women were so skilled at that balance. Another breeze passed through Ora’s hair, ruffling the strands that were loose to dance about her pale face. Her fingers moved, tightening her ponytail and brushing some white strands from her eyes. “Right, well, we won’t be getting any practice just by standing here.” Ora silently chided herself, shifting her weight and beginning to walk towards the Suvai entrance.

[Suvai Pavillion] Ignore that Feeling and Focus

Postby Alruna on May 10th, 2014, 9:33 pm

SorryI am so sorry. I try to reply within a week, but this slipped my mind. Please tell me if I take longer than a week.
Alruna had come to that familiar building in the first time in a while. She had gone here so many times in life, but she didn't want to burden her busy sister. While Ani'lya was always insisting she was fine, Alruna didn't want to bother her unless she wasn't busy. After all, Ani'lya was giving up her time to be possessed by a ghost. Not many could say that.I'm so lucky I have such a great sister.
"Ready?" Alruna asked her sister, making sure she didn't take her by surprise. Her sister just nodded. Being possessed was a relatively new experience for Ani'lya, and Alruna wanted to make sure she wasn't surprising her.
Alruna took control of the body of her sister, changing her form to match Ani'lya's and then slowly slipping into her. The soulmist slipped under Ani'lya's skin, and Alruna carefully took over her body. Alruna loved to train in weapons, and wished she could longer and more often, but she wasn't yet good enough at possession to stay in Ani'lya's body for longer than about two hours. Even staying for that long was a stretch, and left Alruna exhausted. After Alruna took control of her sister, she tried to feel any signs of struggle. There were none, as far as she could sense, so Alruna continued walking torwards the Suvai Pavillion, now in Ani'lya's body.
Even possessing a willing target was hard for Alruna, but she had gotten used to it over time, and could now use her pre-death skills for a short while, maybe an hour at most, without feeling too tired.
[i] I should probably learn to fight as a ghost, but I just can't tear myself away from my old shurikens. They're familiar and reassuring, and when I use them I forget all the mistakes I've made. I wish I had gotten help, but now it's too late.
I should still use my soulmist to try to move things, maybe in time I can improve in doing it. Maybe, when I get really good at using my soulmist, I'll be able to use my shurikens without possessing poor Ani'lya. For now, though, this will have to do. Alruna held the pouch of shurikens that were in Anilya's hands, and walked towards the building, careful not to harm her sister.
