Serenoa Ellen Moor is a woman dedicated to her own success. A botanist and a mixer first, a shrewd businesswoman second, Serenoa puts almost all of her time and energy into the business and profession she inherited from her father.
Physical Description:
Serenoa has never been known particularly for her looks. While young, her body already tells of her work: callused fingers from working with plants and tools regularly, a few skin discolorations on her hands and arms from spills and burns while working around the philtering equipment, and hard eyes that betray the cold determination of a woman at work. Her hair, long and black, inherited from her mother, was worn up in a bun at all times, or else cropped short to keep it out of the way.
Neither particularly short nor particularly tall, her body would best be described as lean - well fed, but often overworked. When working, she wears long sleeves of rough linen under a leather jerkin, and while traveling, she carries a thick, brown cloak. For a merchant, there was never any use to standing out in a crowd, such that even if she had the money for extravagant clothes, she’d hardly waste it on the luxury.

She learned from her father a hard work ethic that has stuck with her to this day, along with a dedication to strict pragmatism: what works, works, and what doesn’t, doesn’t.
This isn’t to say that Serenoa is unfeeling. She is very in touch with her emotions, but also very strongly in control of them, careful to set them aside when it comes to matters of personal or business well-being. She has no emotional issues with growing close to others, but her focus on work always takes precedence over her personal life, leaving her friend circle rather lean.
Personal History:
Serenoa’s mother, from whom she got her middle name, died during childbirth, leaving her husband Alexander to take care of the newborn, their one and only child. A chemist by trade, Alexander worked long hours as it was to prepare potions and salves for a variety of clients. In order to keep up with having a daughter as well, he nearly worked himself to death.
By the age of ten, Serenoa was helping her father in his trade. During the brief periods when they maintained a shop, she kept the store occupied while her father worked in back. As she grew older, she obtained more responsibilities - collecting orders, delivering to clients, collecting ingredients, and eventually even mixing some basic potions and salves herself. It was she who came up with the idea of growing their own ingredients instead of depending on suppliers and collecting from the wild - and from then onward, she also maintained their personal garden, learning as much as she could about the varieties of plants and their uses.
Now full grown, Serenoa still works in the family business. With her father setting up a permanent storefront in <major city>, she now conducts most of the business travel with caravans, collecting foreign ingredients, delivering to far off clients, and even occasionally taking her own jobs on the side.
