Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 14 Height: 5' 6" Weight: 100 lbs. Birthday: 21 Winter 498 AV Birthplace: Mithryn Outpost - Syliras. Location: Zeltiva Short, brown hair frames the thirteen year old’s face, bringing attention to his lighthearted gaze. Soft, brown eyes peek out from under a mop of dark hair, an animated smile quick to flash across his beaming face, laughter usually quick to follow. He held his lanky body of five feet, nine inches a little awkwardly, still growing comfortable with his ever changing figure, but somehow still at ease with himself, nothing to prove, no one to impress. All in all it is apparent that Lem Free is harmless. What you see is what you get.
Character Concept Lem Free is the very definition of innocence. It radiates from his warm, brown eyes and broad smile. Unsullied by the corruption in the world around him, joy stems from his pure heart and is often seen shining from his youthful face as he gazes upon everything around him in wonderment and admiration. Lem is an optimist, always seeing the world as a glass half full, some find his ceaselessly cheery demeanor an annoyance over time. He is always on the lookout for a grand adventure, his attention span incredibly short and he can often be found flirting about happily from task to task as something new catches his fancy. He is easily excited and known to babble on happily about anything and everything, unworried by the events transpiring around him, regardless of their severity. His Father taught him to honor the people around him, respecting life as a gift that it is and not taking a moment for granted. When it comes to people, there is no such thing as a stranger to Lem Free. Everyone he meets is seen as a friend and he treats them as such, which can lead to some interesting encounters when he comes into contact with less than friendly individuals who don't feel the same in return. He has no comprehension of emotions such as bitterness, anger or frustration and is easily confused by people who express such feelings. He sees the world in black and white, everything having its proper place in ease to define roles. His Papa always taught him that every single person deals with some kind of hardship that life threw at them, no one is excluded. But his Papa also taught him that what set a person apart from the rest was how they respond to the problem. His Papa told him that he can let the world walk all over him and allow himself to become bitter or he could refuse to let it control him and live joyfully in every situation.
Character History Little is known of Lem Free’s biological parents. The small child, only a few months old, was found abandoned on the doorstep of a simple philosopher's, Abiah Free, abode inside the walls of the Mithryn Outpost within the boundaries of Syliras. One of the most challenging ordeals of having been abandoned was at some point, upon finding out the one raising them was not their birth parents, it was common for some children to begin to question everything about themselves. Some would blame themselves for their parent’s disappearance. Others would demand to find them and others ran away. But not Lem. The man who took him in, nurtured him, raised him as his own flesh and blood, was all the boy needed. Lem only knew the solitary man as "Papa". Lem wasn't delusional. He understood that he was orphaned, abandoned and discarded as a baby. He understood that his biological parents didn’t want him and left him at the fate of a stranger. But it didn’t bother him because the man he called Father was more than he could ever want. His adopted Father loved him so deeply he often found it overwhelming. If his Papa had a fault, Lem didn’t know about it. Their Father/Son relationship was a beautiful thing to behold. From as early as Lem could remember, his Papa guided and raised him, firmly impressing upon him the difference from right and wrong. Encouraged him to do what he loved, reprimanded when he disobeyed and molded the young boy into someone the world would come to admire. His Papa always told him that he was important and special. Lem knew he was loved, there was no doubt about it. Every day, the wise man told his son to never let the world define him. It would do it’s best to try to change him, even corrupt him, but he must remember to stand by what he believed and never allow his pure heart to be perverted. Because even in the darkest place, the smallest light can fight back.
