Solis is sent to find another mercenary working on the sitai plantation

This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Summer 42 514 A.V

On the early morning of the forty second of summer Solis had awoken by habit or the slowly rising commotion from outside his small home Solis had stared up at the wood ceiling not knowing where he was for the few moments. He sat up looking around the room his memory returning as he realized where he was he was in his home in kenash, Solis placed his right hand on the wall next to his bunk pushing against it as he slid off pushing himself off the bed as he placed his feet on the floor standing up and looking towards his chest which laid on top of it was leather armor he had bought the day before. Solis had gotten dressed into the leather armor then looking towards the door of his small house seeing the scabbard laying against the wall with a bastard sword in the scabbard he walked over to it grabbing it and attaching it to his armor before his hand gently rested on the hilt pulling the blade out just enough to see the steel blade its alright craftsmanship he thought to himself remembering the old days when he would help his mother in her forge but he quickly shook his head disregarding that thought as he had to get to his first day at work he would skip breakfast to be early. Solis walked to the door of his home looking back at the inside before opening the door walking outside and closing the door behind him.

The streets of kenash that morning were just getting busy you could see a few people walking the streets and the merchants were preparing there wares for the long day but at this time you could feel that it was gonna be a hot day but not as hot as some of the other days that would be blistering hot but Solis didn't mind it was just different from his home land, Solis put a smile on his face as he walked down the streets of kenash watching the people who were starting there day soon he was out of the main city and in about a bell and a half he arrived at the blood flower plantation. Solis watched the slaves working he didn't have any specific feelings about slavery but as long as he was paid he didn't care what his employers did. Solis arrived at the steps of the plantation he was just slightly earlier then what he was expected, Solis grabbed the door handle opening the door as he stepped inside and looking around the plantation house seeing some of the house slaves work king in a variety of ways then Solis set his eyes upon a women who he could only assume was not one of the slaves due to her having very fine garments on Solis approached the women now came the hardest part of his day speaking.

Varya looked at the isur in front of her "well get ready to work since this is your first day you will work over time and go find the other mercenary I sent out he should be around the fields of tobacco but knowing him you will have to look around and you better find him quickly'varya barked the orders to Solis. Solis nodded trying to make a good impression as he tried his best at speaking "I..I'll f..f..find h..h..him qui...quickly"Solis said turning towards the door and closing it behind him whole Varya commented as he left "you simple minded fool"she growled before he left. Solis walked out to the fields looking out for any other people besides the slavers and slaves.

Patrol of the day (alexander hamish)

Alex woke out of habit as the morning birds started their piercing calls. The mornings were always slightly chilly, the heat of the previous day being sucked out into the ocean, replaced by a calm breeze. He donned his simply linen clothes, as he had no duties to attend. At least none that would require a walk into the swamp. He had been informed of a new arrival on the plantation, an Isur no less. Alex knew very little about them, he could count the number of times he had met one on one hand.

The things that he knew about them could be counted on less than one hand, because he knew essentially nothing about them. He never directly interacted with one, nor had any of the caravans he had worked on been to a city controlled by the Isur. He couldn’t think of any time that even the caravan master had met with one. He had only seen them in passing on the streets, they were noticeable bigger than he was, and they weren’t the same color, that was probably the only thing that he knew for certain. They were very obviously not humans.

Alex wondered why he was told to meet with the new arrival, he wondered if Isur in general had problems fitting into the niche work of the mercenary trade. That seemed rather silly however, anyone could surely pick up a sword or bow and make a name for themselves somehow. He thought about what he would say to the fellow, what kinds of things they would have in common. Probably a love for travel, a penchant for wanderlust, and a joy of their favored weapon. Alex figured that was probably as good of a start as any. Alex enjoyed his meal of ‘simple’ Kenashian cuisine in relative silence. At least in silence from the conversation of others. The other Sitai mercenaries seemed a rather suspicious bunch, probably came with the work, thought Alex.

Alex watched the sun slowly rise over one of the eastern fields, it was a beautiful sight, one that often put the sights of his home city to shame. The soft orange and reds of the morning sun, softly washed over the plantation. The warmth of the light seemed to bring with it the din of workers, doing their varied, and numerous tasks for their masters. It was a orchestra of gritty, and dirty beauty that added to the wonder of Kenash. No where else in Alex’s travels had he come across such a thing.

And when Alex spotted a flaw in the dance, and stick in the mud as it were, he noticed the perpetrator immediately. The man was short, but rather burdened with muscles. And even from this distance, the soft morning light didn’t play of his skin right. The color as certainly of an odd sort. This must be the Isur he was told about. Alex raised his hand to get the man’s attention, hoping he wouldn’t have to shout to break the slaves’ precious concentration.

Solis had looked out upon the fields watching the slaves working the land or doing a variety of different things, Solis also saw the slavers presiding over the slaves Solis examined them they indeed looked menacing each one of them carrying some sort of weapon. It took Solis a few seconds to spot the waving figure in the distance close to the outer end of the field at this time however Solis didn't think he would be very good working with this other mercenary since he didn't know what to expect or what they would talk about especially with him still having trouble speaking but Solis had gotten better but he had rarely used this language only in certain areas of sultros which he rarely used to go into but Solis rationalized that communicating with people will help. Solis shook his head of these thoughts as he walked down toward the other mercenary wondering what this person would think of him, Solis walked up to the mercenary examining the person in front of him.

Solis didn't know what to say to the person in front of him he figured he might want to get to know this person in case they ever work together again "h..hello I'm Solis vihl I be...b..believe I..m supposed... To go to you for...w..work"Solis said extending his right hand to the mercenary in front of him "do..y..y..you know what... Wer..were supposed to do, a..a..also Im s.s.sorry I..m h.h.h...having t...trouble wth the lan..language" Solis said looking up at the mercenary.

Solis while looking at the mercenary taking notes on his appearance his lighter colored hair and a bit of facial hair he also noticed he wasn't wearing very protective clothing that made Solis think that this job didn't see danger all to often. Solis also noticed how he did not carry any sort of weapon on him "d...do you h..h..have a weapon?" Solis asked since it seemed out of the ordinary for a mercenary to not carry a weapon especially on the job.

Alex was rather taken aback by the blue skinned humanoid that stood before him. Alex had built a false imagine of the Isur in his mind. The man that stood before him was almost a full head shorter than he was, but it seemed that instead of growing up, he had grown out. It was like this man was an additional person wide. His brown hair seemed comical with his light blue skin. But that was before he noticed the pale green arm. That seemed rather silly. Alex kept these thoughts to himself, as the man before him could probably crush Alex’s head like a watermelon.

Alex took the man’s hand, and listened carefully as the man stuttered and struggled with the language Alex had been speaking for nearly two decades. Solis Vihl, Alex did his best to commit the name to memory. This man was very nervous, but with his build, and comical blue skin, Alex decided to not pursue the nervousness. The poor fellow had enough problems. “I am Alex.” he started, thinking of the best way to answer the questions and requests from the Isur.

“I have no work today, for myself or otherwise.” He paused, and thought of the best way to answer to answer the other questions. He had no reason to hide what weapons he possessed, or even that he had a knife discretely tucked into belt. It wasn’t a true weapon, more of a utility tool. The blade was barely longer than his hand, it was his go to tool for just about anything that needed a blade. It was well worn, the blade was just sharp enough to avoid being dangerous to the wielder.

“The place isn’t so dangerous that you need to walk around armed. And if youre not guarding the plantation, then you gotta keep them peace tied anyway.” It was a big hassle to break the laws of the city, you never knew what slight offence might put you in chains. “The best I can do is show you around a bit. Though, I haven’t been in town for a season yet.”

Solis watched the man in front of home first reaction to him and he hoped that he would be able to make a good impression to the person in front of him. Solis didn't know if the person that he now knew as 'Alex' had met or seen another isurian before, Solis was a bit nervous about this fact since he wasn't as fit as most isur he had just a slight blue tint to his skin and if he didn't have his isurian arm then from a distance Solis would appear to be just a short human but that wasn't the point Solis just wanted to make a good impression on Alex. Solis listened to Alex as he was told about work and how Alex had not been in town long Solis could relate to that "I..h..have only...b..been here s...s..since yesterday"Solis said trying his best to communicate with Alex

Solis took a moment to look over at the slaves and slavers before looking back at Alex "I..would... Appreciate that"Solis said as he assumed they would start their way back into town as Solis turned and started walking towards the kabrin road which Solis took a few ticks to think of something to say to Alex "s...so w...w..where are y..you from" Solis asked as the peak of the days heat started and the sun was high above them.

Solis had walked past the blood flower plantation house and towards the kabrin road when they both arrived at the kabrin road several lone people were walking at different areas of the road and at the very back was a cart puller by a small horse and with a creak that only the driver could hear the front right wheel broke and the cart leaned to the right not moving. Solis looked down the road he could see the cart from where he was Solis turned and looked at Alex " w..we s...should he...help" Solis said walking down the road in the opposite direction of kenash toward the broken down cart.
