13th of Summer, 514 AV Rey was bored. It was a state which he had been intimately familiar with growing up, unmotivated slacker that he was. Fortunately, his frequent bouts of boredom in his youth had taught him the way to dispel it. Rey uncurled from his position on the floor, coil after coil of muscle and scales flexing as he stretched, then smiled. He was going to play a game. What kind of game, he wasn't sure yet. Something would occur to him eventually. Shifting and dressing, Rey stuffed his scribble book into his coat and lazily made his way from the Wolf's Cave, waving to the wolves on the way out. It was almost midday, from the looks of it. Where to go? Well, in an ever changing city, he supposed any way could be the right way. Sending up a prayer to Ionu to send him someplace interesting, Rey began to walk. He took turns randomly, occasionally stopping to play with a few of the illusions. Finally, he crouched down in the middle of the road to play with a knee high horse, and when he rose, he found himself at the docks. Rey grinned. The first time he had come to Alvadas, it had been by ship. Two full weeks of complete misery, then a few days of adjustment around the end of the voyage. Naturally, he had only just begun to appreciate traveling by sea when they arrived in Alvadas. That had been almost a year ago, he realized. He had spent most of winter hunting and sleeping and hunting and sleeping, trying not to die, and hadn't noticed how time had passed. There were dozens of people milling around the docks and surrounding area, and a number of ships and boats were in port, most with sailors working on them. The air was filled with the sound of chatter, and the smell of salt and fish. It was... odd, to say the least, but it was certainly not unpleasant. Well, he supposed this was as good a place as any to entertain himself. Now, to find a distraction. |
