Flashback Ideas

• "Lessons"
  - w/ older-girl best friend (or just close friend?). A few tips for the first "performance" turns into a practice session, which turns into something else.
• 1st Client
• Meeting Geoffrey
  - Meets him in a market, after a bad night at work. Sio is callous and sassy, but Geo is persistent in his affable charms. They part ways after exchanging quips. She then runs in to him later, yadda yadda blah blah. Note to self: Include lines about a "you're not from these parts" "a poet's soul" "are you following me?" and "You don't know me at all"("But I want to").
  - Ends with assurances that they will see one another again. And they do, at some point. They get together for drinks, end up at his room, and almost go "there", but Sio stops herself b/c memories of clients resurface at an inconvenient time and she freaks out. Tells him some lie about being a virgin and wanting to wait. He gets frustrated and storms out. A few days later, writes her an apology letter to woo her back.
• Explore the convoluted and unhealthy "love" (attachment, dependency) between the two.
  - Aforementioned bff excitedly questions Sio about Geoffrey. Sio is off-put and confused by her own feelings -- she is disappointed that bff isn't jealous of Geo, but she doesn't know if she wants bff to be jealous of the budding friendship or of the budding romance. But then bff brings up the fact that Sio can't (or shouldn't) pursue anything with him until he knows what she does for a living. Sio, still confused by her emotions (but also now wanting to pursue the relationship harder in order to try and get some kind of jealous rise out of bff) lies and says that she already has and that he's fine with it.
  - Hypnotism lessons w/ Geoffrey
  - Leonel's father: He + his svefra buddies are in port for the night to wait out a storm, rent a few prostitutes, of which Sio is one. They drink, he makes a promise to write to Sio at some point (a promise which she has every right to presume is false). And he does, a few weeks later. When Sio gets it, she is slightly endeared + heavily tempted to write back. She doesn't though. Not out of any faith in monogamy or sense of guilt, but because of the pull of her loyalty (it can't honestly be considered "devotion") to Geo.
  - At some point here, Sio comes to the realization that Geo has been manipulating her emotions.
• Killing Geoffrey
  - Confronts him about the manipulation + lying. They fight and go their separate ways to cool off. A few bells later, Geo angrily, aggressively, and drunkenly confronts her after finding out about her profession (he runs into bff for a little while and it comes up in the conversation). Their arguing resumes, during which Sio reveals that she's pregnant. Geo goes into a fit of rage + lunges at her with a knife. They struggle, but Sio drives the knife through his throat. After a moment's shock, and after taking a moment to watch the life drain out of him, she runs.

Gnosis Possibilities and Ideas

• Telepathy -- "His marked followers are often those who sympathize with the journey of the soul from a shadowy, unsteady place to a calmer state. Leth's followers are frequently imperfect, like the god himself, and struggle against darker circumstances or natures. However, they share the goal of self-control motivated by love. Like the moon Leth governs, the god is a steady light in a dim place, never fully removed from the dark, but enduring as a beacon within it. Gnosis marked followers are frequently characterized by sacrifice for others, a kinship with the evening or a desire to change."
• Night Stalking -- "Akajia marks followers who have a natural curiosity and a desire to know what others do not want known and admires those that see into the shadows others cast – be they physical ones or shadows cast by misinformation or subterfuge. She marks people that are often fearless and see outside of societies' boxes."
• Cordas -- "Sagallius marks someone with Cordas when they have done something to attract his attention. Intelligence and deceit are the traits he values in his followers; he will mark people with above average intelligence who enjoy controlling the environment from the shadows. Sagallius is unique among the gods in that he gives his marks in pairs. Upon marking the person, he tells them the name of the other individual and orders them to outwit that person. Depending on the target, the goal might be to steal a prized possession, or swindle the person in some way. A battle of wits ensues. The winner typically receives his second gnosis mark, whereas the loser's mark turns negative, making them more vulnerable to manipulation. In some cases, the loser becomes a slave to the winner."

Most things Siobhan does are geared towards the overarching goal of security, in any form it may take (i.e. monetary security, physical safety, contingency plans, general mental comfort). Only rarely will she ever purposefully put those securities in direct risk.

At any given point in time, her mood is most likely to veer towards apathy -- her emotional spectrum is quite dispassionate. This typically lends an impassive air about her. It is often difficult to tell what emotion she is feeling both because of a general inability to feel strong emotion and because of a distinct effort on her part to mask many emotions that arise. It is difficult to get her to actually care about some things.

Siobhan resigns herself to a bleak, distrustful, and foreboding world view. She has a meticulous and industrious approach to work that extends to pragmatism in most cases. She is not easily distracted, and her actions are usually focused and deliberate. Caution is never thrown to the wind, and recklessness is frown upon.

When handling new situations, tough choices, and disagreement, she is known to be stubborn, tense, and relentless. She has a cold attitude towards other people, but can be expected to be somewhat agreeable and charming (if cynical) when interacting. Siobhan is capable of being physically attracted to both men and women. Emotional attractions are rare, but are almost exclusively found with women. Even so, her natural sex drive is surprisingly lacking in vitality, sometimes seeming to nearly border on asexuality. Sex is approached from an analytic standpoint, rather than a connective one.

She expresses interest flirtatiously before moving on to more overtly seductive measures, except in certain cases where she skips the flirtation step altogether. She is moderately open to new experiences so long as they to not put her at risk, and she has serious trouble committing to relationships and remaining monogamous, despite her low libido.

Siobhan does not find herself compelled to commit to any one god. She has lived in Ravok long enough to develop a respect for Rhysol, though the feeling has never grown past more than a casual adherence to his faith. She is more thankful to (and impressed by) Zulrav, who has given her cause to respect him by marking her son.

Unlike the majority of Ravokian citizens, Siobhan is highly tolerant of the faiths of others, a trait which stems from her own lack of concern with the gods.

1. What is your Name? "Siobhan. Just Siobhan -- to most people, anyway. They usually don't care to know my last name, and I don't care to share it." Siobhan Maud Prideaux.
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? " 'Sin' -- I'm guessing it's supposed to be some abbreviated version of Siobhan. Some clients started it as a joke, and some coworkers picked up on it. I personally feel it's... distasteful, but it can help me get into the mindset for work."
3. How old are you? "Somewheres about thirty. Ouch."
4. What is your height? "Five feet, nine inches."
5. What is your weight? "Rude." 135 lbs.

1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. "...Above average? Independent. Realistic. ...Protective. That sort of thing. What, you meant looks-wise?"
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. "Not bad on the eyes. Tall, dark hair and pale skin -- every so often I'll get someone asking me if I'm from Nyka. I'm not. Pleasant enough -- elegant, charming, perhaps witty if I'm in the mood. I try to show people what they want to see. It's easier that way." While Siobhan tries to outwardly project the flirtatious demeanor that is expected of her, it doesn't take much effort to sense the iciness lurking beneath the thin surface.

1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. "You'll be hard-pressed to find any native Sunberthian who hasn't. Ah, the first time -- I must've been around... what, fifteen, give or take? One of my fingersmith friends had managed to pinch a whole crate of ale out from behind one of the taverns. It hadn't been watered down yet, so it was still pretty strong, and it didn't take long at all for everyone in the accumulated group of youngsters to get pretty far-gone. Luckily, we were tucked away safe in one of their apartments. Someone suggested we play Blush, so we used our clothes to bet. Quite an interesting night, though it was a bit difficult to explain to Mom exactly what had happened to my... well."
2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? "No. I prefer not to seem sloppy around my son."
3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? "I've always found wine appealing, but it's simply too expensive of a taste for me to keep. You'll typically find me going for a well-rounded ale."
4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? "Of course. Even if certain friends hadn't introduced them to me, there were always a few clients every now and again that would pay extra if I would get hopped up with them. I generally don't find them very enjoyable. It's fine and dandy while they're in effect, but the aftereffects typically leave me feeling... dirty. Moreso than usual, at least."
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. "They're best to be avoided. Anything that dampens your senses makes you a target for anyone who might benefit from taking advantage of you."

Likes and Dislikes :

1. What are your hobbies? "People-watching. We do the darndest things when we think no one will notice. Even, the most basic interactions between people can be interesting, particularly if you can't hear what they're saying to one another and have to base your insights solely off of what you can see. Every once in a while, Leo and I will watch strangers from our window and fill in our own conversations according to what we think they must be saying."
2. Do you like to read? "I don't dislike it, though nothing gained from books will be able to compete with knowledge gained through experience."
3. What annoys you more than anything else? "When people refuse to give me a straight answer. I'm fine with liars, just don't lie to me. Alternatively, I could also say idiots bother me, but at least they tend to be fairly predictable and easy to read."
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do? "Anything with my son. I always feel at least a little on-edge unless he's close."
