City of Crisis (Shiyami)

Winter the 39th, 514AV

“What is it with this season?” Molly growled, her heart was beat hard enough to make her feel as if she needed to catch her breath. It felt like all around her Zeltiva was constantly falling apart. The entire city tilted on an axis and shaken until it tore screams from everyone only the day before.

All around her people buzzed like a swarm of angry, frightened bees unsure of what to do admits the constant chaos of the obelisks. Walking quickly while she was rooted to the spot, watching like she was free from it all. With a snap Molly spun to face the direction of her house, she’d hide from it, run to Leo.

Except…except there was a little girl standing amidst the leftover chaos. She looked so strange for a moment Molly swore she was seeing things but then. Then it got worse, the child was gone and in thee wreckage as if it was a playground wrought with bodies. Panicked Molly looked around but could see no parental figure around and most were comfortable ignoring the child who could easily become another of the bodies.

More people ran, shouting for help fixing this and that, making sure everyone was was pitching in and trying to make it as if they couldn't be apart of repairing their fallen city. With anymore thought Molly was run-walking to the child in order to pull them out, worry eating at her. The closer she got Molly realized exactly how close the child was to the bodies and damage.

Off to her left she spotted more people and children and a man half covered by the rubble. She crept forward, her heart slowing with dread until she was able to see that the bodies were okay. “Do you need any help? You…”

“You shouldn’t go over there, miss! You don’t know what else might break. We're not done making sure stuff won't fall.”

The beekeeper turned back, exasperated now that things seemed to sink in with each sweep of her gaze. Her face clearly said to shut up then she turned back to the…was that a mask? Odd, Molly thought.

“Are the children alright?”

She frowned now, it was hard to see them the closer she got, as if they were faded into the background and not all there. Heat rose from the destruction and obscured her vision more. Her eyes narrowed into slits to try and see better.

Shiyami was frowning deeply as he witnessed the damage in his surroundings. From what he had overheard from many who were panicking, this was most definitely something large scale, possibly even arcane. And that was what worried the ghost. The pain of the material world may be ineffective, but evens the tongues of arcane fire could be painful.

Quickly moving over towards his companions, who had run off. Or more accurately, one was hurriedly chasing after the other. The youngest had caught sight of a man half buried in the rubble, and run off to see, while the older companion chased after the former, attempting to reign her in. However, on his way there, Shiyami stopped moving, as he noticed that someone else was also headed int he same direction. And from her appearance, she seemed to be living.

Before he could warn the woman, apparently another one of the living had beaten him to the punch, calling out to the woman. However, noting the expression and the body language, Shiyami sighed. She was most likely not going to listen.

Chaning directions, he moved until he was in front of the woman, before soeaking. "BEfore you help others, make sure that you are in a position to do so. If you become incapacitated yourself, you will only have caused more trouble.", he advised the woman, his tone rather calm despite the ensuing destruction around.

“I’m not going in, I just wanted the kids out,” Molly said, to prove her point Molly gestured to the children but…they were gone? She paused; searched the chaos with her eyes to see if maybe they had gone farther in. All that caught her attention was a body trapped beneath the rubble. “I think they went farther in!”

“Miss, that’s what I was trying to tell you, there wasn’t no one there ‘cept you.”

“What?” She asked. Had she hit her head? Seeing double or something, she thought as she watched the children dance around the edges of her vision. The beekeeper turned to face the masked man and the crowd and they were watching her. Around them more people flooded near brought by Molly spectacle and the urge to look a the chaos of the day previous.

And there! The children, near the man in the mask now but she couldn’t figured out when that had happened or how. They seemed to be there one second and not and more seemed to crop up. Molly picked her way back towards the others with labored breath, she needed to get away from the chaos. But the chaos followed more people milled about and she could swear there was water rising instead of draining back to the sea where it belonged. It was a good thing too, a portion of the rumble screamed, rumbled and began to fall.

"Falling!" Molly couldn't get out the words, eyes wide, her hands reached for someone to grab "We have to move before more falls!"

It was nothing like the destruction of the day before but it brought memories of terror and ruination. Then she remembered the children, the beekeeper thought she might pass out, "You've got to get your kids out of here! That rubble could bring things big enough to bury us! We should all move until this is over."

Shiyami sighed in exasperation, as the woman was still panicking over the destruction that wreaked havoc across Zeltiva. "I appreciate your concern, but your concern is misplaced. You are the one who must hurry. If the one buried is you, you will most likely not live to see another day.". Trying to reason with the woman, he glanced around, noting the sheer amount of people milling around, most likely still in shock or in a daze from the disaster.

Feeling a tug on his cloak, he glanced behind him. The youngest of his two companions had curiously asked, "What happened?" without a trace of concern nor anxiety. Unfortunately, this was one of the few times where Shiyami couldn't answer. He had no idea that destruction on this magnitude was even feasible in theory, much-less in reality.

Looking back at the woman, he sighed once again. "Follow." After simply stating that one word, he quickly walked away, in the opposite direction from the damage.

City of Crisis (Shiyami)

“What do you mean I could die? What are you? Some kind of wizard?! Because everyone would die if they got caught in…in that!” Molly shouted, pointing at the destruction as more people came. Now shouts for help and workers to move were cried out through the air. The leftover foundation was falling. The water trapped inside flushed out, faster with each second, pulling at Mollys pants and sending small amounts of debris through.

The child’s voice cut off the tirade and allowed the beekeeper to collect her thoughts in a manner that blossomed into panic. It was the panic that spurred her feet to follow him blindly, trailing along like she was another of his wayward children, unable to comprehend what was still happening. As if whatever punishment the Gods were meting out would never be done! What she saw she wished she hadn’t. The water beneath her feet turned a pinkish hue and stained farther than into her clothes. Breathlessly Molly pulled her eyes from her pants and tried to focus on the man in front of her but all found was his feet.

Her eyes stayed glued to them as if they held the secrets of the universe, and maybe they did. No, Molly thought, they could because they didn’t even hold water! Amidst the chaos and knifing through the sudden clutter in her mind, the thought blazed about. It branded her until she stopped dead. Everything fell effortlessly into place. The people. The children. His dry clothes.

“Oh sweet Gods above, you’re dead! You’re all already dead!” Her voice cracked high at the end. The beekeeper was shaking down to her toes and wanting to scream at the top of her lungs. “Were you…in there?! Oh my-I can’t…”

The impulse to run was strong but not enough to make her move. Now that she looked, really, truly looked she could see the strangeness about him and it had nothing to do with his mask. When Molly looked to the children it made it worse because they were children but now they were something terrifying. Terrifying and despairing. If she screamed then Molly couldn’t have said.

Shiyami sighed once again, before placing his hand on his forehead. Despite being ghosts, surrounded by the damage everywhere around them, he couldn't help but to mentally complain about the situation.

"Calm down. First off all, we have already died much before this season. I for one have been dead for over four hundred years. So do not worry, we only came to Zeltiva." Shiyami tried to explain as reasonable as possible, wanting to alleviate this woman's panic. After all, when one is in a panic, their state of mind has degraded quite drastically, preventing themselves for coherently understanding logic.

He then glanced behind him at the rubble, before shrugging. "We came to Zeltiva, however we were not expecting large scale catastrophes on par with what happened yesterday, or several days back." Granted, he was feeling a tad bit bored before, and was wishing for somethign unusual to occur, to liven up the time. He might've gotten his ish, in a roundabout sort of way.

City of Crisis (Shiyami)

Postby Molly Barlow on February 13th, 2015, 1:15 am

"Oh that makes it so much better?!" Molly shouted, panic blended with her irritation, "They're children! They shouldn't be...shouldn't be dead."

Saying they were dead finally made her realize that they were dead. Knowing they were ghosts and knowing they were ghosts because they were dead were two different things. Her thoughts began to go round and round in circles keeping her frozen to the spot, a look of fear and displeasure covering her features while she tried to right herself. He'd said four hundred years, he haunted for four hundred years, Molly thought hysterically, and he'd stay.

"Why are you here? And how come I can see you! You can't see ghosts! How do I even know they're ghosts? Did you kill them?!"

The beekeeper sounded hysterical too her own ears but she couldn't control herself, it was as if every time she tried to talk it made things come out insane. To make matters worse Molly tried to reach for the children, to pull them away from the doomed specter. The very second she did, she felt wrong as if they were wrong and the prickle that ran up her arm warned her of her growing follies.

The fear from before returned ten fold because these creatures were not alive, in any way. They could be monsters. They could be liars. She knew nothing of them and with startling clarity knew she did not want to know. On her heel she turned to run, facing the destruction of the days prior then once more to face the ghosts at a loss of what to do. Mollys confusion and fear bubbled until it rose out of her in a high pitched shriek. She reached down, plucked a piece of rock from the ground and threw it at the eldest ghost with her eyes squeezed shut, without waiting for it to hit she picked up another and threw it as well.
