Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Even though a rainy gloom smirched the day that should turn out to be a glorious and memorable day for Sorak, the type of day that you'll tell tall tales about to your grandchildren, the Akalak didn't let the weather get to him. With unwavering excitement he strode from his place at Cora's Appartements towards the Antiquities Society. Today would be the day he'd be formally introduced to the Society's staff and join their ranks as an Assistant Archeologist. It almost felt surreal to him, they had waited and trained for so long, all for this day, now that it's finally here...It's hard to believe he's not dreaming! Magnos tried his best to keep the dreamy and easily excitable Sorak in check, but truth be told, he was equally exhilarated!

'Say, Magnos, do you remember when you realized this was our path, for the first time?!"

"...Yeah, I do, clear as day even. 'T was the day we went to Valkalah's Tears. You were already aware, and dragged me along with you to there on your search for artifacts, haha. As if there'd be any right under our noses that still hadn't been excavated!"

"Shut up you..But yeah, I remember..You were whining and moping so petching hard!"

"Anyway, it wasn't until we met that person, he never gave us his name but I believe'm to be an outsider, who told us about that historical myth. That the Tears were created by a higher power, the way he spoke enticed me into wanting to learn more about ancient mysteries, artifacts, civilizations...That was the beginning for me, how 'bout you?"

Of course Sorak still remembered, it had been not too long before Magnos was enticed, that he had fallen victim to it as well. Sorak spoke to Magnos about his own faithful day, that it was their birthday and their father had made that special event just for them. The treasure hunt, a silly game where he had to run and search for things in several locations of Riverfall, childish really. But it opened his heart to the desire for adventure, exploration and shrouded mysteries. The feeling he felt when he had found that small statue, rescueing it from inbetween the wild shrubberies of Lapis Park, as silly as it may sound, nothing had been like that sensation. Ever since, the two sides of the Akalak had made it their life's ambition, to become Archaeologists.

Where It All Began (Job Thread #1)

Musing over their ambition's origin and chit chatting merily between eachother, Sorak & Magnos made their way through Riverfall towards their designation. The term designation holding more meaning to them than simply the place they were headed to, al though a more realistic and less romanticizing person would probably call it more of a flagmark rather than their actual designation. Regardless, the pair were in high spirits, even rising to new heights when they started to spot the Antiquities Society's building from a fair distance. Eager, nervous, excited and worried. Just a few gales of the emotional hurricane coarsing through the Akalak.

As Sorak marched over the broad route where the Society was located, in the soutern part of the Akalak's turf, he took in the crisp, slightly salty scent of the nearby ocean's waves coming his way by the strong wind coarsing around through the air. Even though the weather was bleh and the rain wasn't an especially welcomed gues to today's party, Sorak didn't pay much heed to it. Letting the rain wash away his concerns and worries, the droplets falling sideways against his face and slowly running downwards over his cheeks and neck as he upped his walking tempo simultaneously with the weather driving up the downpour. Bittersweet to that, he had already walked up the front stairs of the Society before he even realized he had arrived! In a way it wasn't all that bad, it made him forget about his anxiety and helped him 'cross the river'. Somehow he felt like the hard part was over and felt more at ease as he dried himself off as best he could, which wasn't all that much.

"Hi there!"

Sorak lifted his face surprised, not having expected anyone to be in front of the building at this house and in this weather. Adding that to his embarassment as he had just been 'caught' in a bent position, shaking his head hard in order to get most of the water out of his hair and get it in a semi-presentable fashion. Forget about presenting himself fashionable, he had just been spotted headbanging like he was at a Myrian dance. Magnos sighed and Sorak could almost feel him trying to hide deeper within the Akalak to absolutely and positively not be associated with this barbarian called Sorak. Worst of all, the person catching him in the act, was no other than his idol...Maltar!

"O...Oh! Hello, sir. I am Sorak, I was dry---"

"Haha, no need to explain yourself, Sorak! It'd be weirder if you didn't try to dry yourself off after coming all that way through this weather!"

"Oh...and leave the Sir at the door! I am Maltar. Now, lets go inside."
