When does a Thread need a Mod?

Hi all, so I was wondering if y'all could help a newbie to Mizahar

Another player and I were thinking of hosting a thread on the event The 55th Meteorite shower in Endrykas. We would like our PC's to investigate fallen meteor rocks. Would this need to be moderated? O.o

Also if someone could help clarify when a thread needs to be moderated and when it doesn't, it would be very much appreciated

This link may help. I think it would be fine to explore and perhaps collect a pretty rock or two. The Endrykas calendar even mentions that people go out and collect them. As long as you don't do anything absolutely crazy, such as having the meteorite transform into a massive beast, I think your thread idea is perfectly plausible.
