Her scales are so dark they appear black, with off-white rosettes sprinkled across her body. She has a spade-shaped head with eyes that match her scales, providing excellent camoflauge in the jungle -- less so in the middle of a city or in the grasslands. Like all Constrictors, small teeth line her jaws while a set of backwards-pointing fangs prevent prey from escaping sans harm.   Dhani Form As a Dhani, Thaloyss stretches almost twenty feet from snout to tail tip. She is patterned the same as in her snake form, though she has the added bonus of burly arms. In this form, she's about four times as strong as the average human.   Human Form Thaloyss stands at six feet and three inches (6'3), her height and sinewy limbs creating an imposing figure. Her skin is a soft bronze, with darker freckles dusting her cheekbones and the delicate bridge of her nose. A set of full lips sit above her rounded chin. Her eyes are two dark orbs and seem to hide many secrets, her eyebrows arching elegantly above them. She keeps her hair short and pushed back, though on occasion her bangs will fall to cover her forehead. She is about twice as strong as the average human in this form.   Abilities Being a constrictor Dhani, Thaloyss: Has quadruple the strength of an average human when in Dhani form Has twice the strength of an average human when in human form Sibilant pronunciation and a hissing accent Dislike of the cold. If in prolonged cold temperatures, will get drowsy. Can and will hibernate, though she usually attempts to avoid it due to the danger of Sunberth. Carnivorous diet. She has a tendency to swallow her prey whole, depending on the size and form. Depending on the meal size, she may well become stuck in the form that she devoured said meal for anywhere from one to five days. Relative ease of shifting between her three forms. Hairless as a Dhani Excellent senses of smell, taste, and hearing, average sense of sight. As a human, the only sense that is amplified is her sense of taste. Night sight by sensing body heat and outlines to the point of being able to create an entire picture out of temperatures; Dhani and snake forms only.   Snake Thaloyss is based off of the Argentine Boa Constrictor, Boa constrictor occidentalis. It's considered a subspecies of the boa constrictor. Argentine boas vary in color. Some display a dark, almost muddy appearance, and others show a clearly contrasting pattern. For example, stark-white rosettes dorsally contrast nicely with a background color of dark brown to black. Occasionally Argentines displaying an increased amount of rust-red and burnt-orange have been produced in herpetoculture. Even hypomelanistic and T-positive examples are available in today’s reptile market. Argentine boas possess 242 to 251 ventral scales and 29 to 30 interconnected dorsal blotches. Adults range from 6 to 9 feet long. They also have a high degree of iridescence. The snakes are at their most spectacular immediately following a shed.* Character Concept Thaloyss has become... softer, in her time spent with humans. While she is still quite cunning, the streak of cruelty Dhani are known for has been dulled. She is not against killing, however, and will not hesitate to shift into her Dhani or snake form and crush those who make attempts on her life. She is cold and unforgiving, much like the highest peaks of Kalea she'd heard stories of, when she is choking the life from her prey -- humanoid or beastly, it doesn't matter. She venerates Siku, like most landbound Dhani, and harbors a distant love for Caiyha as well. More recently she has allowed Dira to take an important place in her heart, since her jobAs of the 50th of Spring, 515 AV, Thaloyss is no longer a barmaid. She instead works with Richard Blow as a mercenary. as a barmaid allowed her to get close to potential meals. On the job she takes on an entirely different air. She becomes charming, warm to strangers. She knows that flashing a smile at the right moment combined with a brief touch against a shoulder or back will bring in more revenue for the tavern than a chilly exterior. This is merely a facade, as the real Thaloyss has no problem promising a customer a bit of private time if they buy more drinks... and then luring them into her powerful coils. One facet of her charming personality remains even off work: She deeply enjoys dancing. However, it takes some persuasion to get her to talk about it, let alone perform. She dances primarily in private, to a beat inside her head that shivers through her limbs in wild motions with no recognizable pattern; the only clear aspect is the passion that emanates from her body. Character History Born and raised in Zinrah, it was only in late winter 514 AV Thaloyss arrived in Sunberth. She found that it was much more suited to her tastes, and while the city was incredibly dangerous and backstabbing than her home it was so much more fun. That is, as long as you didn't kill anyone important in the gangs and watched the shadows. And, of course, got rid of the body properly. Usually in the form of dismembering it and eating it. Stomach acid was the best trash disposal, after all. A few days stuck in Dhani form never hurt her. She quickly learned that while her height and superior strength were valuable tools, seduction was also a life-saving device. Not only could she convince an attacker to not kill her, it also brought her meals. Cannibalism wasn't cannibalism when you weren't human. It was just hunting. Thaloyss took on the job of a barmaid, fashioning a new persona for the times she was working. This Thaloyss was charming, funny, likeable. It earned her a living, and still does. While there are a few rumors that fly around every few weeks, it was Sunberth and disappearances weren't unusual. She could usually keep them to a minimum.
