Kallalyn, who adamantly prefers to go by Kalla (she thinks it sounds more mature and less of a mouthful), can be described as happy and peaceful. She prefers to look on the bright side of things, she does know some things are simply beyond help...in which case she ignores it and simply goes on to something she can help or something happier if able. As well, she is friendly and helpful as possible. She is also rather dedicated to Morwen and Rak'keli, praying to both often and hoping to gain Rak'keli's Gnosis mark to help along her healing abilities. Like other Vantha, she enjoys telling stories and making them as extravagant as possible. Often times this leaks into her normal conversations. She does not know much when it comes to fighting, having always leaned to the diplomatic side of things. While she knows a bit of the outside world from pestering visitors, she still is rather wide-eyed and, sometimes, naive to the workings of certain things. This is due to her preference to believe in an intrinsic good in all people and places. Essentially, she is a helper with a good heart and bright outlook. It would be a strange day if she were to ever turn away from helping someone, this in part due to her dedication to Rak'keli. As well she happily suffers from wanderlust, which tends to give her a bit of trepidation when it comes to any sort of really long commitment. That commitment could be simply choosing a city to live in forever without seeing others first or the usual type of commitment issues. If there is enough and strong enough reason for her to settle with anything, she would, she just would need convincing.
Character History Kallalyn was raised in a rather ordinary way for others like her. Living in the Whitevine hold, she was able to learn to help heal people. Coming off of that, she was able to know some of herbalism, finding herself enjoying those lessons. For her thirteenth birthday, her parents gave her a mortar and pestle with an engraved phrase on it to use during her studies. She also learned how to tell stories to sway thoughts and emotions in her free time, by listening and practicing. Most of what she knows about the outside world comes from listening to travelers or speaking with any children her age that might, somehow, visit the harsh region. With Kelvics being rather the norm, she couldn't help but develop a fondness for them, enjoying their company in either form. She also gained a curiosity for other other races when they would visit, often wondering about the ones that didn't. Usually she could be found trailing after visitors to Avanthal and asking many questions, more interested in the outside than the inside. This was much to her parents' dismay, as they preferred their daughter to take interest in Avanthal and clearly wanting to stay, like her two other siblings, but that was not to be the case. Briefly her parents had thought she might stay, as their first choice for her to be married to was a good friend of her's. Sadly, once Kalla found out he had changed his mind about wanting to travel one day, she broke it off immediately. His trying to convince her that staying in Avanthal was the best possible idea didn't help matters. If anything, it pushed her to be even more stubborn against her parent's choice of suitors. Now being almost twenty, a bit more pressure has been put on her to be wed. But she was rather taken by the stories other people brought from various places south and, not being all too invested in anyone who seemed interested in marrying her, she set out one day to travel. Deciding to go someplace different from Avanthal, the first place she could think of was Ravok.
Religion: While she does pray to Morwen, she also gives some prayers to Rak'keli. She hopes to gain a mark of Rak'keli one day, but for now she had gained a mark from Morwen during her coming of age ceremony. Being out of the icy city finally, she leans more to focusing on Rak'keli. Those are the two goddesses she considers herself devoted to, but she often wonders about the other gods and goddesses, both known and unknown.

Mila Whitevine
Relationship: Mother Age when Kalla left (AWKL): 39
While she had left the Winterflame Hold to join that of her husband's, she still made sure to make special treats for her children from the recipes she had learned from her family. She even helped tend to any gardening when she could, which was useful for the healers of Whitevine. She always went the extra length to help her children learn what they wished to. She always let Amallys help her with her baking projects, finding any reimancer she could to help Lucien, and even letting Kalla know when there was a new visitor for her to bother. The latter, while she was glad to help make her happy, worried her as she knew that being curious about the rest of the world could very well have her eldest daughter run off into the night to seek whatever knowledge it was that she wanted. Yet she indulged her, being just as dedicated and loving as any Vantha parent.
When her daughter announced her plans to travel, she wasn't surprised. Of course her and Kalla's father had tried to find men that might be able to keep their wanderlust filled daughter in Avanthal, but she had known that fight was bound to be a losing one. As much as she hated to see her leaving, she was at least glad to not have to watch her daughter wither away with her eyes always on the outside.
Cailen Whitevine
Relationship: Father AWKL: 42 Cailen was responsible for truly introducing Kalla to learning medicine. While she had grown up around enough healers, her father had been the one who gave her books of information she wanted so she could teach herself until she was ready to learn hands-on. Out of all his children, Cailen was closer to his eldest daughter, if only because she was the one clearly interested in healing. It was actually her father's idea to gift her with an engraved mortar and pestle on her thirteenth birthday.
After a few failed tries at finding someone for his daughter to marry, Cailen suggested that they try to find more within the Hold. He had thought that Kalla simply wanted to stay put with all the other Whitevines or visitors who seemed to plan to stay permanently, not quite realizing how strong his daughter's wish of travel was. Kallayn's departure was one of the few things that saw tears in the man's eyes.
Amallys Whitevine
Relationship: Sister AWKL: 17 The second child of Mila and Cailen, she looked up to her big sister. While she had no want to leave Avanthal, she would often follow after Kalla, listening to what she would learn from the visitors. She even tried to follow a path of healing, but quickly decided she would rather work alongside her mother.
When her brother was born, she had long since stopped following Kalla, even if she did still look up to her at times. With her not being so preoccupied with her sister, more often she would tend to her brother, trying to teach him to be a 'good Vantha'. Most of that was put aside when she turned sixteen due to the amount of people interested in marrying her. She took great pride in having a nice number of suitors, often telling her sister about it. It was not so much bragging as wanting to show that she was capable of things, just like how she would show little treats she would bake off.
When Kalla announced her plans to leave, she and Amallys had a falling out. Even with her older sister trying to make it up to her until she left, they still parted on rather shaky grounds.
Lucien Whitevine
Relationship: Brother AWKL: 13 Lucien and his sister had a loose relationship up until the Djed storm of 512. The reason for them growing closer was simply that Kalla was left in charge of looking out for her siblings while their parents went to do what they could with the melting of Avanthal. After that, he gained a new love for his eldest sister. They did not bond as much as they could have since he was much younger and more interested in magic than healing, but they did what they could. Often they would make up stories together, usually about the lives of different visitors. Then they would try and convince everyone that the story was true. The story making game had been one of Lucien's favorites, especially when both his sisters and he played it. Each of them would compete for the best, most believable story.
While he was getting to a more grown age, he still didn't want to see Kalla go when she told him of her plans. Besides her friend, Eira, Lucien was the first to hear of what she intended to do. He had tried convincing her for a long while not to go, but ended up simply making her promise to write back many stories, true ones. She promised, and that was enough to help their relationship stay strong enough.
Eira
Relationship: Friend AWKL: 3 A snow leopard Kelvic and bondmate of Sama Snowsong, a man who was her parents' first choice for Kalla's husband. The two ended up meeting as Sama and Kalla managed to keep a shaky friendship, even though they hadn't worked out too well. She and Eira simply worked, if only because the Kelvic was rather mischievous and it fit with Kalla's curiosity. Suffice to say, if Kalla was ever in trouble after age seventeen it was partly Eira's doing. Even so, she came to rely on her and told her most of her secrets. The snow leopard was the first to hear of her plans, the first to help her figure it out and how to tell her family. While the two were only friends and not bondmates, they still had a strong connection. Enough so that Kalla, and even the rest of her family, accepted the Kelvic as pseudo-family.

Room Description :
A simple room, paid for the fall season. Furnishings include a bed, hearth, table, chair, and a storage chest. The bed is always made neatly when Kalla is not using it. Her pestle and mortar, toiletries, and supplies are stashed safely away in her backpack which is in the chest, mostly in case she needs to leave quickly for one or another reason. Whatever she isn't wearing, usually her dress and her coat, are folded up neatly in the chest. Otherwise the room is pretty bare for now.

If someone isn't waving a weapon in her face or clearly meaning her harm, she'll assume they are good natured, even if only under the surface. And even if they do try and stab her, she'll still think they are good at heart and probably forgive them without being asked.
