Mant Liknessa
The Querulous

Image

General information
Race: Human
Age: 32
Height: 6' 4", pretty sizeable, but far from gargantuan.
Gender: Male.

Physical outlook
Mant Liknessa is bald. He has a stingy beard, brooding and penetrating eyes which gives an impression of both patience and dissatisfaction and a slender body. He occasionally wears a fez on his head. He wears plain clothes (with a wolf pelt around his shoulders, if it is cold, of course), well-used shoes and, when he requires it gloves.

Personality and morals
Personality: He is stubborn and determinant. He looks brooding all the time, and the inexperienced might believe he is volatile at first look. However; he is a trustful worker. He will do his best at whatever job he is granted (unless it is against his personal beliefs), but he is only human and might do mistakes. He is cool and polite to these he meet and affiliates with, and even those he considers friends. He is very individualistic, and in good fit, but keeps an ascetic lifestyle, wandering from place to place when he deems it required.
Morals: He follows a few rules which he believes are accurate. The first rule is to never trust anyone until they prove their worth. The second is to always place yourself and those you hold dear before all others. The third is to always value knowledge, wisdom and honesty before all other things.
Likes: People willing to open themselves for others, the freshness of a new dawn and the taste of freshly baked break.
Dislikes:To stay in rooms with a lot of people, fresh cadavers and cold people with no compassion. The first two dislikes comes from phobias of varying degrees he got in his childhood, and the last comes from the bad experiences with cold and ruthless people.

Character history
Mant is a Spiritist, though, not a very experienced one. How he learned it is an interesting story. At youth, he lived at the border of Syliras together with his family, his father, two brothers and one sister. He got beaten at youth by his father when he was drunk, something which contributed to his cold and distancing attitude.
When he was old enough to leave (20) his father let him go to the capital to search work with his heirloom and other facilities and told him to stay vary of strangers. At the road towards the capital he met a man which seemed strange. He sat and held his hand towards his stomach, and looked out in the air for something. Then a white mass seeped out from his pores and a shape formed in the air, which rendered Mant shocked, but he stood his ground and observed what happened. He saw the man talking to the white shape, which resembled a man, and later smiled and dismissed it.
After that, Mant was the apprentice for the Spiritist for five years. He learned a lot, though, he didn't know how to use it and could (can) only do the very basic of Spiritism since his master didn't want him to do anything advanced in fear for, as he explained it, "the malevolent ones who cares little for the living" would discover him. His apprentice period ended in a rush when he one day his master got attacked by something dark and hateful, which ripped him apart and left Mant covered with blood with his master's body in front of him. After he had processed through the grief process he decided to stay as a Spiritist, but be more careful than his master. Eight years he used then on working as a cook, mason and, later, a cook, again.
Recently he picked up Spiritism again and slowly, but surely, gotten a stronger urge to practice and study Spiritism.
