It was strange to think that all those years of running for his life had finally come in useful for something other than stealing. But here he was. After a season of being lost, finding his bearings and then inevitably getting lost again, the Sunberthian had eventually stumbled upon work in the form of the Star Gazer Gazette. From what Eleazar could tell it was basically the written down form of the that one person in the pub that knew all the locals and all the local drama, only more polite and without the “well my old friend Susie's son's daughter's mother's cousin told me that...”. Each peak had it's own little spot where the Gazette was shown, a mix of ads and gossip mostly, with the odd urgent message to the public in the middle.
Either way, his job within all this was to deliver messages and parcels to and from the Gazette's main office on Tenten peak. It was fairly simple work and matched what he was used to back in berth with the added bonus of stopping at the 17th bell due to the cities strange work hours. A pile of letters and parcels each morning, all labelled on where to deliver them to along with a small list of doors to knock on to collect from then a lunch break and another round of delivering. Eleazar had just started his second round that day, stepping out the office, bag heavy against his shoulder. Finding a suitable spot to stop, the courier began to look through and reorganise his workload by it's destination peak. It's something he had learned to do the hard way after going back and forth between the peaks multiple times, until his legs had rebelled, on the first day. This way he could easily make his deliveries peak by peak, saving time, energy and his legs. Lots of letters for and from Zintia, no surprise there. Some letters for and from Tenten and a package to collect from Shinyama and a small parcel for someone way out on Sharai, along with a handful of letter to deliver to and from Sartu. A fairly average looking round it seemed.
Bag reorganised, Eleazar held up a hand and glared at it. He had come up with a little phrase to remember which peak was which and he'd forgotten it. It was something twenty drunk shins or twenty.... twenty.... Oh! Shatter Twenty Zonked Shins Sharp. Sartu for matching ts, ten plus ten was twenty so Tenten, Zintia for starting with z, Shins was understandably Shinyama and Sharai had Sharp's r in there. Moving from thumb to pinkie, each word was placed on a finger letting the Sunberthian planned out his route. Naturally it made sense for him to start with Tenten, where he currently was, then move on to Zintia since it was only one peak along and had the most letters addressed to it. After that he'd have to move along to Shinyama and Sharai then have to trek back to Sartu. Since he'd have to pass Tenten anyway, he'd drop off the package and letter at the office before doing Sartu and completing his round. It was going to be a long day but at least it was a long day with a guarantee of being paid. Sighing, Eleazar hauled his bag up over his shoulder before reaching in a pulling out the first letter to figure out the destination of.
