Usani, like most Konti, appears much younger than she truly is. She is slender and small, reaching 5'3" and weighing 110 pounds. She has long lanky limbs, with more legs than torso. She has trails of pale white scales covering most of her body, starting from the flats of her feet and moving up her shins, curling around onto her hips and up her spine and neck. They are most numerous on the tops of her shoulders, with small lines trailing down to the tops of her hands. Keeping with classic Konti traits, Usani has a light webbing between her fingers and toes, as well as gills located on her neck.
Her hair is on the dark side of a Konti's range, though still a pale blond color, with locks that hang past her shoulders. Her eyes are most notably an odd color, somewhere between blue and purple, with exact shades shifting with the lighting.

Usani was born in Riverfall, but grew up on the move. She lived with a trading caravan, a collection of merchants, traders, craftsmen and mercenaries traveling from Riverfall to Syliras to Nyka and back on a regular basis, though on occasion a small group split off from the main caravan to sail to Mura. Her parents worked to protect the caravan - her mother as a Konti blessed by Rak'keli, and her father as a skilled Akalak mercenary. The small family travelled the circuit for years, moving from one city to another, the only concept of home residing in the caravan itself.
Over fifteen years after their first child, Usani's mother gave birth to another, this time a son. The new arrival spurred a change in lifestyle, and her father decided to stay in Riverfall with his son, Saulin, whilst the mother and daughter pair continued the constant travel. The separation was hard on them all, with the two adults slowly drawing apart, and Usani struggling to get to know her only sibling with only a short period every few years to truly bond. After approximately twenty years of dwindling effort the family was split in half, emotional bonds disintegrating with time and distance.
Through that time Usani and her mother grew closer together and further from others, as all of their original friends from the caravan had grown old and died, or left to settle somewhere safer. However, when Usani reached the ripe age of 41, they befriended an odd, new member of the caravan, a man well known as both a Spiritist and an Eiyon. He quickly bonded with the pair, becoming almost a substitute brother for Usani. He taught her his trade, communicating with and dealing with ghosts. There was some conflict when it came to religion, as the Konti were firm in their worship of Rak'keli and Avalis. Due to the passive nature of the discussions, however, some of the base concepts stuck. After over half a decade with the two Konti, the Spiritist left them, like all others had before.
Life continued as normal for another two decades, until things began to go sideways. The caravan, journeying to Nyka and severely understaffed, was attacked by bandits who'd noticed the company's weakness. They managed to escape, though not without serious damage done, including to Usani's mother. The woman had taken an arrow to the spine, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. The pair retreated to Mura, where the injured Konti underwent extensive healing to allow her to walk again... though she never fully recovered. They stayed in Mura, where Usani took a more nurturing role, assisting her remaining family with their failing health.
The tenth of Summer, 515, was Usani's worst day. It was the day her mother died. It was also the day that she learned, on her mother's deathbed, that the woman's relationship with the Spiritist had been of a very, very different nature than Usani's. Unable to deal with the catastrophe and resulting emotions she fled, joining the same caravan it had all started at. She returned to Riverfall, searching for the half of her family she'd left long ago.
