Koin Frostfawn

Appearance

Race: Human, Vantha
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Birthday: 05, Spring, 496
Starting City: Lhavit
Birthplace: Frostfawn Hold

-Appearance-

General Build:
Koin stands at 5”8’, somewhat tall for a Vantha, but there isn’t much about him that holds true to his birth culture. The only things that bind him to home are his ever changing eyes when his emotions run rampant, and the streak of red across the back of his head through dark black hair. His skin a lighter tone than most but the parts of him revealed in the sun are a nice light bronze. Koin does not have any scars or noticeable markings on his body.

Clothing:
He likes to wear cloaks that hid most of his features. It would look black to the passerby, but on examination it is actually a dark blue. His under clothing are simple cotton and loss fitting, comfortable, pants. He keeps a dagger out of sight on his belt, tucked behind his back, and a longsword usually hangs from his left side.

Character Concept

Family-
Koin has a strong sense of family, even if he wasn't raised with one. He feels that it is important to know where you come from, and looks forward to going back and trying to find his parents. He would love to have a family of his own one day. He loves little kids and loves the idea of settling down somewhere in a nice, safe country side.

Work-
Koin is a hard worker. He is usual early to any appointment he has, though he can complain a little about the small stuff he gets it done quick and efficiently. He does his job to the best of his abilities and doesn't tend to slack off much. He looks at lazy people like a burden on society and that they should be eliminated or fired whenever possible.

Shy-
Koin can also be a little shy when it comes to women or speaking in public. Though, once he sets his mind to something he will put a foot down to anyone if the need be. When he approaches people he tends to beat around the bush in order to not hurt feelings. Koin is a little touchy when it comes to his feels, this probably adds to his being shy and soft spoken nature.

Anger-
When someone is violent Koin thinks much before actions. His mind moves quickly to analize whats going on and tries to talk his way out of having to actually use his sword. In his line of work is would be bad if he was quick to strike back. Koin is more apt to yell and raise his voice than to start swinging aimlessly.

Friends-
Koin loves to talk and spend time with people. He is usually a social butterfly when it comes to being in large groups. He finds it difficult to attach himself emotionally to others, call it a defense mechanism, and when it is time to leave it is time to leave. He will do what he needs to to survive, and that means using others if it suits him.

Loyalty and territory-
Koin is loyal for the most part. Though he will do what needs to be done to survive. He wouldn't admit to being a coward, but he hasn't been known to take the hard way just because, if there is an easy way around he will do it in a heart beat. This isn't because he his lazy, he just thinks doing things smart is the way to go. He keeps his friends close and would be the first one to help if something is needed. He tends to give a little too much even if getting anything in return isn't likely.

The Gods and Goddesses-
He give respect when it is needed and when it is owed. That is about it.

Thievery-
Koin has stolen a few things in his life, but he wouldn't call them his best moments. Mostly he has done things to survive in a world that is constantly trying to tear him apart.

Character History

Born deep in the Avanthal Forest in the Frostfawn Hold by his mother Elina and father Rennigan Frostfawn. He had an extremely happy life as a young child, almost every need and want that was possible to be satisfied was . Kept warm by his mother’s love and strong by his father’s steadfast work ethic, even at the age of four. But all good things must come to an end.

The forest was dangerous one night. The sky glistened with the ever watchful aurora, but that didn’t seem to stop them. Them being the term Koin has given their faces, he does not know names, nor is was he aware of their linage. Only that they took him and many other children from their home that night and moved them across the world in a blink of an eye. Or it seemed. The tale, even to Koin is still a mystery. He was playing with a small bear at the time and then everything changed before them. The ground became dark and wamr, the sky was a blue tinge streaking with wild colors bursting out with tenticals that moved as if they were flames. Now and again food would appear in front of him and vanish… this seemingly went on forever especialy for a child that missed the loving touch of his parents and friends.

Soon he found himself in a world that was more balanced, yet to him it was still unbelievable, the beauty of skyglass mountains that reflected everything above was the most beautiful thing a young child could have imagined, but this was soon taken from him as well. Koin soon found himself in the company of a young man named Himalach Fuurn. At least that is what he was told his name was.

He grew up in a household full of books, stories of wild tales, the crazy philosophies of people and creatures around the world, books on crafts, and books on war and the arts of it. He spent most of his time as a child reading in his master’s library. It was the only place in his house that he was safe. The building would seem to change and shift as it willed. Some hallways would turn to flames while others could freeze you in minutes.

The man wasn’t the most pleasant, Koin came to learn from the books. He had none of the heroic characteristics of the people he read about, he could be closest resembled to the villain in most stories. The child respected him none the less. Himalach fed him, kept him safe, he taught him how to fight and how to dance. He even attempted to tell him tales and teach him how to elaborate on the smallest details. Koin loved him.

Koin’s entire life didn’t consist of this room, though the majority of it did. He spent time outside and talking to others, but everything always shifted and it always seemed he was in front of his master’s house. He made friends, and his master aloud him to carry everything Himalach needed. Koin did yard work and helped do physical labor, like digging holes and plowing through fields. His life was not exciting, but he wasn’t dead.

When Koin turned 19 he read a story that changed his perspective on everything and explained the situation he might have been in. The ever shifting building resembled the shifting nature of a city he learned of. He came to realize he was trapped in an illusion. All it took was for him to ask his Master about it. Himalache’s smile is forever seared into Koin’s mind and what he said was ingrained forever; “I put you in here…” He spoke, then continued to look into Koins dark blue eyes. “It took you 15 years to figure it out. You are worthless… I thought you might be worth something to me, that you might be able to learn something useful. I was wrong.” Sorry covered the man’s face. “You are worth nothing to me. Leave!” He screamed with his hand pointing toward the doorway that appeared before Koin. Koin’s eyes turned red. Anger jet across his face. The man he came to love as his father, told him to leave. He ran from his presence reluctantly, looking back till the very moment the door closed, waiting for his master to call for him once more, but it never came.
