Orion Maybelle Appearance Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 27 Birthday: 14th of Spring 589 Birthplace: Syliras Appearance: Average height, just under six feet with sandy brown hair and light blue eyes. His hair seems to part slightly in a wave to the left side of his face. With a fairly diminutive frame and gangly looking arms Orion does not present the imposing physical figure of someone who has spent their life working outside but the skinny, unfilled out frame of someone who has spent significantly more time indoors. Character Concept Orion is in essence the stereotypical lawyer with a twist, a very ambitious individual who will stop at almost nothing to achieve his very lofty goals. Orion has a desire of wealth, and perhaps more importantly the power that massive wealth brings. The connections that law brings with the upper echelons of society along with the large fees that are chargeable within the practice. Orion is unfailingly polite to everyone despite his fair contempt for those he considers beneath him. Although he may be polite, he will politely take advantage of you through twisting words and behind the back deals to get what he wants. He is not above blackmail, extortion or other means to encourage people into doing him a favor. Despite his apparent moral short comings Orion takes his job seriously and along with the legal profession comes discretion. Exceedingly competitive, Orion thrives on the challenge and will take on long odds just to see if he can win. He is unfailingly loyal as long as the dues are payed and he knows the value to friends in the correct places. Orion does not let his walls of professionalism down often but one would find very good friend if that ever were the case. Character History Orion was born in the depths of Syliras as an only child. The son of a knights scribe and a farmer outside the city. During his early years Orion’s mother taught him the basics of reading and writing while working long hours to afford their very small apartment within the castle. This is where Orion’s skill with words became apparent. His mother would bring home various documents looking for errors or loopholes and Orion would commonly try to help. Following his brief stint within the Sylrias school system, which mainly focused on academic pursuits that Orion found himself ill-suited to his Mother pulled him out in order to tutor him herself. This went on until sometime before his 20th birthday when his parents surprised him with funds they had saved up for the past couple years for him to attend the university. Following a long overland journey to Zeltiva Orion enrolled within the University and attended from 509-5-12AV. Studying various topics mostly related to law and some history within the city Orion distinguished himself among his classmates as particularly skilled at criminal law, going undefeated in mock trials they had between classmates. Upon leaving the University Orion bounced around, doing mostly contact work for individuals to pay the bills before scraping together enough money to purchase a small flat within the city. From that point on it was Orion’s main goal to start his own law firm in order to work with larger clients who have more influence within the city.
