Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

The Butcheries

Because of their numbers, and their reverence of Caiyha, the Myrians raise herds of ...somewhat... domesticated animals for their consumption needs, knowing that if they had to hunt for enough meat to feed their swelling population, the jungle would quickly become devoid of life, unable to repopulate fast enough. Steadfast believers in using everything they can, many sections of an animal that many would grimace at finds a use in Myrian society. Nothing goes to waste.

In Taloba, my families slaughter and butcher their own meat - be it the jagara cattle, pigs, poultry, game, fish, crocodiles, or even their enemies. Meat is meat, and precious little is inedible to the Myrians. But sometimes a family is having a celebration, and needs more than what they may have on immediate hand - many neighbours will often pitch in and donate their excess, knowing that it was well-spent. In time, those favours will likely come back when they need extra themselves. A family may have Jagara cattle, and lots of them, but wants a change for something else - like one of the larger, jungle-dwelling barrabarra. The butcheries are a place to trade and barter for meat beyond the fish stalls.

Below are the most common meats available for sale and barter. It should be noted that Myrians are cannibals, and if they catch other races in their jungle, they are very likely to kill and eat them, given the opportunity to do so, but depending on their numbers, they're quite rare to see at the butcheries - these are often saved for the family of the ones who caught and killed them. However, the Myrians find enough Dhani (and other snakes) regularly to see it commonly available for trade. Most of the meat available is raw, but depending on the season, it's not unusual to find dried, smoked, or cooked meat available. Some animals, like the chickens, ducks, and geese, are often available alive... leaving the killing to the buyer.
